RoseRodent- This is a great motivator for me and I am sure for others as well. I hope that you plan to make another one after this one is through! I am already down 8 pounds and I am super excited to see others on their journey as well.

How's everyone doing? I had an issue this week with my good friend Mr Pizza....yowza. Can we say binge? I should have eaten 1 piece. I ate 3 I think...and some more the next day as well! Whoopsie!

Weigh in is ttomorrow, how is everyone?

fromthebox 01-31-2011 03:29 AM

Doing well over here! Can't say for sure but if things work out I will be down 8lbs (which I was today) tomorrow as well. The last 4-5 may be tougher than I thought, but it is still *possible* as of right now.

By the way lifeasme congrats on making goal already (for the challenge) and keep kicking butt/taking names.

Bac0s - so close! this could be your week, good luck :cheer:

I second RoseOfPain, RoseRodent, how do you feel about a St Patricks day challenge? ..Or another one in general, since that's only a month.

fcuser10395743 01-31-2011 03:29 AM

Well, that's me off to hospital. I was asked to eat maintenance for the week before surgery to make sure I had plenty of carbs stored up so I still weigh the same 169, but expect to lose couple of lbs by this afternoon. ;) Be good, look after the spreadsheet for me while I am away, hope to be back next Monday - probably heavier cos they make you eat the hospital food (batch catering horrors!) or they won't let you go home, plus the sodium from the saline I will be a balloon!

Was thinking about Easter cos that is late April this year, and I have certain... ethnic differences shall we say re St Paddy's. (We originate from Belfast).

Or should we go for the week after Easter to challenge everyone not to eat all those choccy eggs? ;)

I wondered if you might. ;)

I like Easter or week after, but honestly whatever you pick, I'm in.

Anyway best of luck with the surgery and following Hospital fare. We will see you Monday (hopefully)!

Thanks... but GRRR! My whoosh was too much, too fast, and I've bounced back up. Have been hanging out in the 202/low 203 range since Thursday. I just got TOM, so I'm hoping it'll drop soon.

Good luck on the last 4-5!!

RoseOfPain 01-31-2011 01:10 PM

149lbs today! Hope to be 146/147 next Monday!!

Trying hard. Listening to my body when I am full and just having a slim fast/lean cuisine when I am not in the mood to eat anything, instead of resorting to fast food (the root of my weight issues).

lifeasme 01-31-2011 01:45 PM

My body has not quite recovered from my pizza binge on wednesday. I am down, but not a lot. TOM is looming as well...next week I will lose more :)

Thanks for the kudos  I wouldn't be there already if I wasn't so fat to start with though :o

Hey sorry for not being active in the chat! Happy with my weigh in from yesterday (it's Tuesday here now).

cheryl126 02-05-2011 10:25 AM

I'm so psyched for the next weigh-in! Right around the time that this challenge began, I started on a medication that is notorious for weight gain. I didn't think it really made a difference, but I stopped it about 2 weeks ago and have finally started losing weight again and have noticed that I'm not hungry every 5 minutes like I was before. I'm down about 2 lbs already since the last weigh-in, which is more than I've lost throughout the whole challenge. It's about time -- it was starting to get a little demoralizing watching everyone do so well while I was stalled out.

fcuser10395743 02-05-2011 05:25 PM

I'm out of hospital this afternoon, yay! My last week reads like a soap opera. Hubby was off work on Mon to get me settled in hospital but after dropping my daughter at nursery we got a call about an hour before I was due to go down that she was ill and needed picking up. So he had to leave me, then they came around to say did I know I was going to the intensive care afterwards -:eek: Um, no. He was headed home with that ringing in his ears and me with the knowledge he wouldn't be there when I came around. Woke up in HDU (slightly downgraded part of intensive care) with oxygen, monitoring cuff, oxygen monitor, 2 drains, catheter, epidural line, fluids and morphine PCA drip and had to stay on HDU for days in the end gradually shedding wires.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, husband has arrived at nursery to find they are just calling an ambulance cos my daughter is fitting (never fitted before) so he gets in the ambulance with her to be rushed off to a different hospital with her! So he's thinking about me in in Intensive Care and her in ER!

She got released, diagnosed febrile convulsion so we have to watch her temperature like hawks now. So I'm still in HDU and husband calls to say the gas has gone off and he doesn't know why, so I tell him how to contact gas emergency and they say yes, water has got in the gas pipes and 1200 properties have been cut off, you'll get given one small electric heater and a hotplate. Later we got a letter saying water may have got in and ruined our appliances and they'd need to be replaced!

Meanwhile (!) my parents are on holiday.... in Egypt! I haven't heard from them so unsure where they are still, will call their travel agent tomorrow.

So I'm just home today (very quick from HDU to ward and out) and hallelujah the gas came back on about 3 hours after I got back. Post-op report says they removed 3lbs skin in the one surgery, still waiting for the report from the other surgeon, but all in all I fully expect to find I've lost... ooooh, 30lbs? ;):p Or maybe 4 anyway.

Relate so much to that. Will have to return and slap doctor who said "hormones don't have calories in" but they do make you want to eat anything and everything. Back when I was breastfeeding if you didn't nail food to the counter it was gone, I was like a serious addict.

rainbowstripe 02-06-2011 04:11 AM

Rose You are such a trooper. I'm sorry about all the stressful things going on! I hope your daughter is ok and your parents too - and also you! Glad to hear the surgery went well!

fcuser10395743 02-06-2011 05:11 PM

I cheated and weighed in Sunday cos it's such a trial to get on the scale just now. I guess mine is something of a cheat with all that has been going on, but then again I started with that disadvantage of tissue that couldn't possibly be lost any other way, so I am now 162lbs, so that's another mini-goal for me too!
