Thanks for the replies! I saw in another thread (I think) about someone eating Natures own 35 calorie bead slices. I looked at their website and compared the protein/fiber content to what I normally eat. I think it's the same. I'm going to look at them and compare in the store. I might be able to make that little change and then add some other things. There's always a way to tweak things.

I really like Laughing Cow cheeses as well. I use them instead of butter or margarine on sandwiches. They also have the light versions in blue cheese and chipotle- really tasty.
Have you ever thought of abandoning the sandwich idea? My children don't like sandwiches, so I have had to find all sorts of things to put in a thermos for their packed school lunches.

No, I really enjoy my lunch and it is very satisfying. There's also a convenience issue. I take the food to my business on Monday and I have everything there that I will need for the entire week. I don't have to worry about packing things daily. Also, I'm not one that needs change or to eat something different every day. I eat the same breakfast and lunch every day.

My main concern has been that I feel I am wasting calories on the cheese on my sandwich. I don't really taste it, so what's the point. I am wanting to eliminate the cheese and add something that's more filling and tasty.

Personally, I'd ditch the snack packs and go for whole fruit/veg. You'll get fresher ingredients PLUS you'll do the Earth a favor by not using all of that packaging!
