  • Hey!! I'm mostly new (lol, I posted once under a different diet, and lasted one day!!) But, I'm serious about weight loss and maintenance for life! This is also my first challenge, and I know that this is what I need! Motivation and help!
I'm sick of making excuses for eating bad, and then in turn feeling worse about myself. I too will not weigh myself until thanksgiving and I have already decided to have a "healthy" alternative thanksgiving day. No excuses! I'm also the type that will punish myself for not enough weight lost or reward myself with a "cheat day" that sometimes sends me spiraling out of control.
This isn't just a diet to me anymore. I'm serious about a life style change forever.
My goal is to lose 7 pounds by the end of the challenge. Normally I would say 10 put I know that's setting myself up for failure and 7 is a realistic goal.
  • Hey guys! Im still around...started a new job Tuesday and i really like it! Its a very physically demanding job (im on my feet all day)...i just feel so very blessed to have it.

Sending out get well vibes and hugs to those that aren't feeling well.

My DH is home tonight with a stomach virus, yuk. Poor thing..his stomach is cramping (i hope nobody else gets it...stomach viruses SUCK)

Monday i did a circuit workout, yesterday took a rest day and today was a full upper body weight lifting dvd after work. I got some really good burns. Tomorrow will have to be a higher intensity Cardio after work...maybe on the treadmill...anyways. Have a good night...later gators
  • Lori- Hope you feel better soon, sounds like you got a double whammy( tom & sick) Congrads on the 130's!

I'm noticing I gain & lose weight slower now. I don't gain 6 lbs. of water from eating like a pig anymore, it's more like 2lbs now. Then it takes days to get it off. I think I actually gain fat now, that's why it takes longer. That's good though, now I think twice before I eat junk food, so I'm making better food choices. Had 1360 cal. today and finally lost some weight. I'm always hungry now, so it's hard.
  • Thanks, Sandcar. It was a tough day, but we got through it. My student delivered a beautiful euology for his father, such a strong young man...just heartbreaking

Lori: 120 lbs lost, WTG! I can't wait to get there!!

Shylah: hope you're feeling better! Lots of crud going around lately.

Lulabell: welcome to CC and welcome to the challenge!

Priss: Congrats on the new job! Hope your DH feels better. Stomach flu is NOT fun!!

Everyone else: wow, lots of folks in this challenge, as Fruitlady said, that's awesome! (Just hard to keep up...lol.) Great to see you all!

As for me: having a good week so far...been right on track on calories and keeping up with my exercise. Did 35 minutes of elliptical/wii fit tonight. I'm in the middle of TOM (came a week early...weird), so may wait until Saturday for WI this week just to make sure I'm done with the water weight.

Keep up the good work, ladies!
  • Good evening everyone. Hope all is well tonight. Its cold, and raining here in east texas. I'm still sore for some reason so I still went to the gym I just didnt work as hard as I did on monday. I met my calorie goal today but was under my carbs, fat, and protein. Which is nothing new there. For the challenge my goal is to lose another 5 lbs for thanksgiving. I want to say good luck to everyone as we Take Pounds Off Sensibly!

    for challenge lose 5lbs

I wish it would come on already So I can get it done & over with) still held my weight steady at 139.6 today(that made me smile) My 2 year anniversary is in 7 days Of counting calories & Starting my journey(on the 11th) & then on the 13th My hubby has 2 years sober in~Proud of him & Lori Bell For that ~quitting drinking was rough on him & our family But for those that accomplish it I am so proud of! OK Off to bed ready to fall over & sleep on the computer chair ~so uncute~LOL~Will type again 2morrow. Personals then.(HUGS)
  • Lori GO YOU!!! Awesome that you're about to celebrate such a milestone, and also congrats to your husband, that is also a great milestone to be achieving. I am so in awe of your super journey, would love to be comparing to you someday!

~Eep. So I've only eaten 630 calories today and it's nearly 8pm. My crazy tidying madness that took over me made me forget about lunch til nearly 4.30pm and now I'm stressing out about actually eating enough to meet my minimum goal of 1350 :S. I'm not really sure what to do and I know I won't get any instantaneous responses here due to time differences... so I think I'm just going to have to figure something out. I will feel just as bad eating so few calories as I would if I'd eaten something like 2000.
  • Hey Lori--congrats.... You are simply amazing! Hope you are feeling better! Huggies to you! Btw, you look so fit, vibrant and beautiful! Oh, and congrats to your hubby for the two years! I grew up with alchoholics for "parents" --it's awesome your hubby is done with the bottle! What a gift to give to himself and to your family. I hope you both celebrate and recognize daily the strength each of your successes indicate.
  • Good morning ladies.
I have already gotten a workout in today and even though it's still early I'm set to maintain my calorie limit. Looking forward to a great day.

    LORI!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!
    Rainbow -
So what did you end up doing for the lack of calories?
Northern - what type of results are you getting on the eliptical? I need something to help my upper thigh area and I was wondering how you like the results?
Lula - Even when you set your goal higher than you think you can manage and you do all you can to get there you may surprise yourself. But 7 is a good number!!

Well off to start my "day job"...LOL.
  • Good morning ladies. I hope all of you are having a terrific day. Today is going to get real busy any minute so I don't have time for many personal notes, but I'd like to welcome Lulabelle on board and tell Lori to give her hubs a high-5 for me!

So I've made it 3 solid days meeting all of my challenge requirements and I'm feeling pretty good about things. Though, just to be safe, I had my kids re-hide their Halloween candy because I stumbled upon one of theirs when I was putting away laundry last night. I don't trust myself today. I've been doing a lot of praying and keeping myself very busy.

    Hugs to all.
  • Lori259, congrats to you and your hubby!!

Well, today was not good. I said that one of my goals for this challenge was to not weigh myself until Thanksgiving.... well I did it anyways. The good news is that I have lost 5 pounds since I started which was Monday I guess (the days run together) but the bad news is that I saw my 5 pound loss and immediately thought *oh, well I can have some cookies now* I should have just left well enough alone because until then, I was actually worried that I might not be losing. GRRRR! So now I'm having to fight temptation all day. Maybe I will have my hubby take the scale to work with him.....
  • Hey everyone! So exciting to see all the goals and new people throwing into the ring!

so far so good, got a little worried at a mini plateau, but managed to toggle my body enough it reset and am going down again.

    goal ~
I'm wanting to see the 150's (156-159 would be just fine) (162.2 today)
Keep up logging all my food ~ check
keep to my current workout schedule, add a class at the gym ~ check

week before Thanksgiving specifically ~ eat sensibly, eat at maximum maintenance calories
  • Hi all- your all doing so great!

Had 1350 cal. today, my weight is exactly the same as yesterday, so that's good. I found a great healthy body calculator online( ask the Dietitian), this one asks alot more questions about how active you are. I think it's pretty accurate. It says I need 1385 cal. to maintain at 108lbs., I had 1365 yesterday & I stayed the same weight. I have been staying between 1250-1365 lately, so we'll see what happens. I did eat a little chocolate today though, but not much. Good luck to all!
  • Good afternoon everyone! Popping in for a quickie.

I am doing great today; lots of energy. Yesterday I was dragging all day, so I'm glad it's picking back up again. Still have to exercise though.

    Hope everyone is doing well.
  • Well after a rough start to November (the 1st, 2nd and 3rd were horrible) I finally feel like I'm gaining solid footing in eating at least, I just need to get my body back in the habit of waking up before 6 AM to exercise and I'll be back in form in no time...Thanksgiving, here I come!

OH! I also, I heard through the family grapevine that my mommy is coming to Thanksgiving, so I want to look a little lighter than the last time she saw me.
