Yep, me too. Same foods, different combinations, but only when I feel like it. I never get tired of my basic foods. My husband is even more set in his foods, he once ate the same sandwich rollups I made for his lunch for 3 years straight! lol. Other than the Sunday hot breakfast I made, he also eats the same breakfast everyday for over 20 years. Now that breakfast is about once a month because it is high in calories.
I also like to stick to foods that are easy to count, so I rarely eat combination foods. I like meat, veggies and wine for dinner rather than casseroles or other types of combo foods. I can count food that is separate, I can see the portion size and enjoy the food for what it is and not be tempted into overeating. For some reason, combo foods seem harder for me to find a natural "stop" with.
Yep, creature of habit here, too! I'm not getting tired of the two lunches I rotate through, nor my breakfast or snacks. I know how many calories I'm using and it makes it easy for me. I do like to mix it up for dinner and on the weekends. I also trying to be more creative with the healthy meals I am cooking at home. I'm a creature of habit in lots of ways, not just with eating.
NOT ME! I really enjoy food and great varieties of it. I do tend to the same 5 things or so for a few weeks, then something new will be in. Lately it's been asian seaood soup (with chicken broth, seafood and poached eggs) and Italian sausage soup/stew. The other month it was AVOCADOES!
It's been a real process learning to cook better and in a way that really works for my body and metabolism.
I'll make a big pot and have it or dinner or lunch once a day, packed in tupperwares at school or work.
I try to have a salad everyday, and have a variety of toppings. I mix it up with adventurous toppings.
Breakfast, I have several I go through. Lately my real luxury: A small skim latte, 2 raisin toasts with PB. Yummy!
Same breakfast every single morning for me. Oatmeal with lots of cinnamon, 150ml of milk and a serving of fruit. I just absolutely adore it so see no reason to change. I'm the same with lunch and dinner - I have a shrimp saad almost every day for lunch and a chicken or beef stirfy a few times a week for dinner. Homemade I.t doesn't bore me at all because I find it so delicious
yep, makes life faster. Also, sometimes I just fall in love with food. I ate dim sum every night for weeks it seemed, then chicken breast with green beans for weeks, then egg white omelletes for weeks...
not a bad thing, though
I have to have some variety. I have a half dozen favorites that I rotate and mix for breakfast. I can't just eat oatmeal though - I have to dress it up and make it fun and different every time. I do eat the same veggies every week. Don't fix it if it ain't broke, right?
I have the same breakfast and lunch mostly everyday. I mix it up at dinner because it's the only time I ever get to enjoy food. I'm always rushing through the first two meals of the day so it helps if: a) i know what i'm having and b) it's easily assembled.
I also eat the same thing for break lunch and tea everyday // this way it's easy to stay on plan and i know i will lose// Do mix it up on sundays though (this can be dangerous) but working so far
I'm with those that need variety! That is very much my nature talking though. Before I started losing weight I was always trying out new restaurants or dishes at restaurants and my waist line surely showed it!
Even when I'm eating generally the same sort of thing I try to cook it in different ways. (Eggs in various forms are a big favorite in the morning.) I go through phases in what I make as well. Sometimes it just is easier to make something that I've made before.
I do tend to the same type of foods in my pantry - lots of vegetables, whole wheat breads, whole grain cereals, low calorie ice cream treats, lean proteins, etc. But I'm always trying to find -different- foods in those categories so I don't get bored. I think trying new things and shaking up my diet is what will help keep -me- successful, but we all need to individually do what makes us successful long term.
I don't eat the same thing every day but I do have the same things on each day each week. I have a weekly menu plan that I usually stick with, occassionaly I will switch things up a little and dinner is always different.
