I don't want to really get into it, but starvation mode is a myth. All body fat has to be used up before starvation can begin, and the metabolism only slows when the fat around vital organs is the last source of energy for the body. (See the Minnesota Starvation Research work). Dropping calories low does not cause the body to hold on to fat....think about it, how else would people actually starve to death if fat were being "held onto"?

Anyways, You are right, don't reduce calories too soon. You can try changing the carb/fat/protein ratio. You can try lowering carbs to about 100 or less a day. You can try more exercise, not particularly muscle building type, but more walking or swimming. More water and less soda pop may help.

Calorie zigzagging did not work for me. I lose better on a very consistent count, sometimes it seems to take forever and then all of a sudden a big drop. Plateaus are going to happen, the body just needs to work through the changes of fat loss.
