Just checking in~been a long week~my youngest 2 kids had BIBLE school~And my daughters best friend had her sweet 16 sooooo As I said LONG WEEK~LONG SUMMER BREAK ALL READY~UGHHH LOL
I am stuck at 198 at moment.(it's cool considering my start weight But it's bugging the crap outta me~I wanna move those pounds!) I still have my clothing too~hahaha~I am however making efforts to get rid of them.....So will update on that soon. Oh~When I switched the food in my house my daughter was wearing a size 16 and now she is wearing a size 10! So shes lost quite a bit of weight from the food change...and so has the rest of my family but especially her. Jam Not sure what dh stands for but that is my husband in the picture with me. We have been married for 16 years and together for 18. I was 15 he was 17 when me met~or well became boyfriend/girlfriend then at 17 and 19 we got married...Been together ever since. He's a little wild but has settled down THANK GOD! I use to tell him he better be glad he is cute HAHAHA. David~I admit that smile on my pic is something~but for me in a horrible way LOL! Thank GOD THAT IS HISTORY. Congrads on 10lbs! [B]EVERYONE ELSE~Hope you are all having a great week KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I hope I get away from 198 soon Not above that number but below it would be terrific. WISH ME LUCK |
Hey Lori, you'll whoosh below that soon, I'm sure.
I'm still waking up, here. On my second cup of tea, and contemplating whether to do something useful. Scale is creeping up again, and looking at the calendar, I think I'm on the TOM bloat ride again. Didn't get my wish of getting far enough into the 160s to avoid the 170s this time, but maybe next round! My everything is sore, probably from the massage, but it should end up rewarding me on Monday with fewer knotted muscles. I've been googling on the strongman/strongwoman sport this morning. Cripes, the women's weights are heavy! I saw one with 230 deadlifts on the fat bar (it's a barbell made from a 2" pipe, so harder to grip and hold onto). My best deadlift so far is 175, so I've got a way to go. My trainer saw me eating my 4oz of meat at the bbq, and said I will have to learn to eat like a strongman, too. You know, 16 oz steaks and beer, lol. :lol3: |
I had a spare moment.Thought I would drop a line or two
LOL~JAM Beer and 16 oz steaks! WOW! All I can say is WOW! I have worked out all day~YUCK~To get to 197 SOON!!! OR LOWER~It better work hahaha~I even washed my car by hand(or well my hubby washed and I dried it but It still sucked and was quite the workout Just the same~HAHAHA) well gotta make a call to check on my daughter she is at a friends house ~the one having her sweet 16 and there calling for severe storms over where she is. And tornado warnings not to far from where I am Or her for that matter. CRAP! I hate when storm time is upon us. SUCKS. Will Type later EVERYONE |
OH dang nearly forgot.
175 lbs on a deadlift JAM Just blows my mind! AGAIN~WOW~HOW AMAZING (I am A Super wimp I would be lucky to lift 75 lbs hahaha) |
thank god its monday...too much temptation on the weekends
|
Jam I just realized you are going to do a handstand with no assistance, wow!
Lori I'm a wimp too, haha. I stick with reps of 8 lbs! haha David yes, thanks god for the week. Why are weekends so hard? Is it just socially accepted that weekends are times for lots of food or what? That said, I lost 3 lbs last week. I was super busy last week so I didn't check out the forums at all, but I've just been reading them and it looks like everyone is logging in losses! YAY |
km nice job!!!
|
Finally down to 145 lbs! The top of the normal range for my height (I'm 5'4")! I'm "normal" again! still, 4 more pounds to go until I reach my goal for the 4th of July Challenge... everything is going so slowly! Mixed up my exercise and am exercising more and everything! Still not much of a change! Not as quickly as I'd like to see it anyway! How is everyone else doing?
MrsLovett |
I SURVIVED MY FRIENDS~Tornadoes And bad storms didn't get me or my family LOL~I hate storms.(UNLUCKY FOR Y'all you gotta still deal with me hehehe)
Anyways~A miracle~I finally got away from 198 I was 196.8 today YEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAW! That made my day. AND MY SIZE 12 jeans fit And was NOT UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO THRILLED ABOUT THAT. I do not think I have ever fit in a size 12 before.(not unless I wore that size as a child at some point) But I know I was a 13/14 in womens in the 5th & 6th grade and 15/16's all the rest of the way up until I got pregnant(at age 17)~and had 3 kids within a few years~ then I went to a steady 18's & 20's Then after quitting smoking I went to a 22 more or less~then started losing those lbs~ So today is a fabulous day Because those awesome jeans fit! I am down 10 sizes.22 to 12(yes I am counting odd sizes too LOL) km25hehehehehe~At least I aint the only wimpy person hehehehe. 8lbs sounds more like it! David~I agree thank god its Monday. My weekend was hectic and all of last week for that matter. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT WEEK. |
mrs, congratulations on being normal...thats fantastic!!!
way to move that ticker lori!! jam, i cant wait to start doing 10ks again...in another life i could run 3 miles in under 20 minutes have a great week everyone!!! |
David, you'll get there! I didn't know you were a runner, that is cool! I always wanted to be a runner, but never did it when I was younger. I thought that some people could do it, and some couldn't, I think because in school gym class, it was always like, "hey, welcome to gym class, now go run a mile!" It wasn't until last year, when I tried the Couch to 5K program, that I learned I could be a runner, I just had to ease into it, so I didn't kill my freakin' self! Now, I love long slow runs, and short sprints. Mid-distance sprints? Hatehatehate! But, I guess I don't have to love ALL running, right? ;)
I don't have time to reply to all today, but I read all the posts, and would have said what's already been said, great job, everyone! :celebrate: Today we did 30 clean and jerks for time. I love  the olympic lifts. I think I did better with the footwork on the split jerk this time. I also worked on the rope climbing thing, working on my descent. I think I'm ready to give the full rope climb a go now, but didn't do it today, since I'd already worn myself out with the workout and the practice on the rope. I'll do it in my warm-up, though, this week, since there's a workout this saturday with rope climbs in it. I'd love to be able to do those for once, instead of having to substitute rope lowers, which are just embarrassing, considering how long I've been there! Tomorrow will, no doubt, be some awful metcon with a bazillion reps, but I'm feeling rested up and ready for it. My knees were really sore yesterday, maybe from the 5K and/or the massage, I dunno, but I was happy to find they were back to normal today. Phew! Okay, gotta run, doing a yard work job today to earn some money...gotta pay the bills and all, dangit! :D |
oops mrslovett~didn't mean to pass you up~I am sooooooo proud of you!!!
|
Congratulations MrsLovett and Lori259. Wow David, anything under 7 minute miles is very impressive to me! If you've done it before, you can definitely get there again.
|
I personally am most impressed by good speeds at long distances. My cousins both run marathons and that's never easy. My older cousin has run the Boston Marathon 2 years now and done pretty well (WAY near the top of the ranks) and my younger cousin (his sister) is training for a marathon right now and will be running a half marathon in the fall. I am most drawn to their sport - the steady long-distance running. It greatly appeals to me.
Lori, congratulations! You WILL get to your goal. You've gone so far already. Now I... haven't been very good on working on my goal. I've been walking outside everyday for an hour, but getting me on the treadmill...... I'm getting better though. Today I tried the walk/run thing, and just kept the speed constant at 4 mph. I walked at 4 mph for 5 minutes, then I jogged for one minute, then I repeated this two more times, except the last time I jogged for three minutes. So I was at it for about 20 minutes. Tomorrow I plan to go on again, and I think I'll run for 5 and then jog for 2. By the way, jam, I totally agree. That's why I thought I could never run, because in primary and secondary school they were always like, "Oh go run a mile," without training us WHATSOEVER. And of course I had to jump right into it head-on with no training and always performed poorly. OF COURSE. I think that's a stupid thing to do. If you want us to run a mile, TRAIN us first. DUH! It gave me a bad idea about running for a long time. |
jam...just run how you want to...it sounds like your active enough that the running is more crosstraining...if you hate it forget it
|
David, it's a nice idea, but I don't get to pick the run distances at the gym. Thankfully, they pop up maybe once a week, so it's not so bad. When I run for myself, I definitely go for longer, slower runs, because I just love that feeling, like I could run forever. :cloud9:
Meg, yeah, that's what I remember, too. The cramps in my side, no air, no warm-up to speak of. Like, because we were kids, we were just supposed to be able to do it. :frypan: Well, thankfully, I found another way to reach that goal, and didn't give it up totally. :) Congrats on the treadmill work. I only tried running on a treadmill once, and when I got off, felt like I'd just come home from sea...is there a barf smiley? That was it for me and the treadmill, lol. MrsL, I am totally slacking! I read that, but was so fried yesterday when I checked in here, I immediately forgot. You definitely get a Highly Coveted Flamey Award for reaching a "normal" BMI, baby! :flame: That is awesome! My big news for the day is that I did my first (and second) rope climb today! All the way to the top! It was pretty scary, to tell the truth, mostly because I was still nervous about coming down the rope. I really need some grippier shoes for that. Is grippier a word, or did I just make that up? ;) Still have not worked on my handstand goal, and may not get that done, but I'm excited about the rope climb success, and I also am so VERY close to getting my kipping pull-up, so even if I don't get the handstand mastered this round, I've made some major progress on other fitness goals this time! |
Well, I have worked out every day and increased my water intake. I have seriously cut back the diet soda to 1 a day the last week, but probably will not hit my goal of 8 lbs lost as I slowed almost as soon as I started this challenge but hey I have almost 3 weeks still so we'll see.
|
Hi CC Friends! Just a quickie Hello tonight! I'm off to bed.
Jam - WOOT on the rope climb! :D |
Well I decided just to do the C25K program instead of just trying to run for 20 minutes on the treadmill with no plan in place, since it seems safer.
I should finish week 3 before the fourth of July, so my goal from now on is to STAY ON TRACK and do it every week without fail, and continue on after that. I really want to learn to run! =D |
Well I did it~I got rid of my clothes! It sucked But yet felt good at the same time. I Tried to give them away for free but no responses(i guess they thought they was skanky clothes since I said they was free~So I Ended up selling them for 50.00 on craigslist~There was 7 large 30 gallon trash bags full of lane bryant,Fashion Bug,Tommy hilfiger,Levis,Abercrombie,Old Navy,And so on~So they bascially got them for free anyways. I sure hope the get lots of use outta them.I guess I can take the 50.00 and get me some new tops~I need some badly. At least tops last me for a few sizes jeans however I mine as well Forget it.
I was in 16's I think last month and now 14's are getting to big and MOST 12's are fitting great!! I may quit calorie counting to lose weight and do it to maintain when I get to a size 8 Even if I am above my goal weight~(or if below I will keep on~I think an 8 is idea size For me~but who knows) I am not wanting to give up early or nothing ~I just do not wanna be tooooo skinny at end ~I would like to keep some of My J-LO Butt And some of the bazuuumba's(as thighsbegone calls them)~I Just aint sure~ I feel like a loser even thinking my original goal weight may be to small for me Or too large~I Just think a size 8 is a dreamy size to me. Comments on that discussion would be helpful. Anyways 2 goals down 1 to go with these challenge. 1) Fit in a size 12 comfortably(Accomplished) 2) Get rid of all my old BIG Clothes(accomplished) 3)Get to 193(I think that was weight I said~may not make it I have 3 lbs to go and 2 weeks ~we will have to see.) Megwini I love your glasses by the way~Noone knows from my pics(Iusually take them off because I get a glare in my pics) but I wear glasses everyday too~And yours are sooooooooooo cool....LOVE THEM Congradulations JAM~YOU ARE THE JAMINATOR! Hi Barb~David~EVERYONE ELSE. Hope your all having a great week. |
jamsk8r,
Thanks for that Highly Coveted Award!!! It is greatly appreciated!!!:) :carrot: Also, I lost another pound! So, I'm down to 144.0 lbs.! Today has been a pretty good day so far! Have gotten a LOT of cardio in and a little bit of strength training too! Most of it was on the Wii, but I recently discovered workout videos on the internet for beginners, and have been doing those. I did a 10 minute kickboxing video the other day! It was my first time ever doing kickboxing! And this morning I incorporated some kickboxing moves in the middle of my bowling frames to add some fun! So three pounds to go before I reach my 4th of July Challenge goal. Can't wait! MrsLovett |
Hey all! Everybody is doing great on this challenge! :carrot:
Lori, I don't know about you, but for me, the "goal weight" is just my best guess. I just want to keep going until I feel like the excess fat is gone. I still have some, mostly on my stomach, so I'll keep going until I feel like that's gone. The only thing that would stop me from doing that to the end is if my lifting started to suffer. I'd choose being able to lift heavier over being lean, at this point. As long as my lifts are going up, though, I'll continue working on the fat loss. Whatever number I end up with, or whatever size, will be okay with me. Even if I couldn't drop any more than I have, and had to hold at 168-170, I'd choose lifting heavy over having 6 pack abs, lol. Workout is done for today. Actually, I did yesterday's heavy deadlifts, since I missed the gym yesterday morning, then did half of today's workout, per my trainer's instruction. It was a good combo: heavy deadlifts first, then 10 minutes of the metcon, which was pull-ups, push-ups and squats. Kicked my butt, for sure! :faint: |
hows everyone??? gonna weigh in and post tomorrow morning...jam your my hero...you keep working and that handstand will be no problem...sometimes when i see people running or doing a hard workout i think to myself "id do that too if i were that thin" duh!!! i need to stay in these goal threads cuz they work...im confident that i can be under 240 by the fourth...have a great day everyone
|
jam ~great points~Thanks girl~I appreciate it.
I will Just kinda see where I am comfy at I guess ~and leave 150 for my goal at moment. My daughter had a pair of size 11's and out of pure wanting to fit in them I tried them on(bongo Brand) I LOVE BONGO NOW! THEY FREAKING FIT! And was kinda sexy(Or at least I think they was hahaha~Who knows) I got my butt in an 11!!!!! I felt soooooooooooooooooooo skinny~Never felt that before ever! I am having lots of body changes and not much on the numbers on the scale so I look to get a big swoosh soon Or hope so. My daughter weighs about what you do Jam And she looks soo great ~She is just 5 ft 2inches Though ~so with you being taller I bet you are totally a skinny minnie and full of muscles!~Do you have before and after pics????? I am curious to see.If so post PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE David~I agree these challenges totally keep me focused and help so much. EVERYONE ELSE~Hope your having a great weekend. STAY FOCUSED AND REMEMBER ABOUT 2 weeks to go~WORK HARD |
Go Lori259 for fitting into size 11's! I wanna know what store you're shopping in though! I think I must be shopping in the wrong section because my sizes are somehow a higher number...? I don't shop in fancy stores either!
Well, for me... the scale had stalled at about 146.5 for a week or so, then magically in four days FOUR POUNDS dropped off me! I'm at 142.0 lbs. now! One single pound away from my 4th of July Challenge goal weight!!!! Think I'll reach it ahead of time? I think so! And I won't stop there! If I *do* reach my weight goal ahead of time... do you all mind if I keep updating my steps and other goals in this thread? I think they were to exercise at least 5 days a week and do my 8,000 steps per day... though I'm not sure about my pedometer... it has been wacky lately. Anyway... do you mind if I still barge in here? How is everyone else faring? MrsLovett |
MrsL, meeting your goal early is no excuse for not checking in! Stick around, because we'll do another holiday challenge after this one. We're mainly here to keep each other motivated to stay on our plans, keep reaching for new goals, and just hold each other up. We just set the goals for motivation and to challenge ourselves, but all are welcome to just be here and chat, give and get support.
Lori, congrats on the size 11s. woot! :carrot: David, good luck with the weigh-in. You've been doing great so far, and I'm glad to see you sticking around. You'll be one of those thin, athletic types soon enough, my friend! |
okay...so i only lost 1 lb...maybe those mcdonalds iced coffees werent such a great idea after all...but 1 lb per week is 50 lbs a year...i aint trippin...take care everyone
|
Great POINT DAVID!!
Thanks JAM! Mrs Lovett~I can wear 12's in Levis strauss brand And Tommy hilfiger. The 11's was Bongo brand~lowrise /bootcut. Just purchased from friends yardsales~but I get guessed to weigh less than I do all the time.(I think because alot of my weight is in the bra still~ I am still a D CUP~LOL) I always Wear name brands~I guess I am a bit spoiled to them. Although I had never tried Bongo Before~I just couldn't pass them up ~They looked new and my friend had Them for $1.00!!!!! I now Love Bongo Jeans!!!!:carrot: Whew~I am sooooooooo tired~LONG DAY. I played karaoke american Idol Encore On ps2 with the kids and I am exhausted. Sang so much I had an asthma attack ~LOL! Honestly I did however finally manage to get a perfect score on The titanic theme song by celion dion ~So I had a blast~plus won and yes I was the next American Idol.......WHHHHHHHHHHHHEWWWW MOMMA CAN SING~LOL~Sorry everyone just hyper from the game still hahahahaha. Type ya'll Later~i gotta get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. |
Hi everyone!
Lori259, I have Americal Idol Karaoke too! I love to sing! My only problem is that I have SEVERE microphone fear (can't remember what the word is...:)) My family is musical, so believe it or not I CAN sing (I think?), but the instant I get in front of a mic, I clam up and can't really sing that well at all :( Good for you for your awesome singing! hehe I have a theory that my face is much thinner than the rest of my body because I'm constantly singing and talking *giggles* :D Really! People have even commented that they noticed the weight loss in my face a lot sooner than the rest of my body. It's weird. Anyway! I got a little CRAZY with the exercise this morning. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I've discovered something new recently... kickboxing! I love to do it everyday! And it apparently burns about 100 calories in just 10 minutes (I've asked!) I did it for 20 minutes this morning. I think it accounted for about half of my calories burned. I'm often surprised how little calories are burned by the exercises I do... like 50 minutes low impact aerobics only burns around 90 calories??? I did: 20 minutes kickboxing 25 minutes High-impact "Dance Bowling" 50 minutes low impact aerobics around 10 minutes strength training That's approx. 105 minutes exercise, or 1 hr 45 mins... all before say, 10 a.m.? I know, it's a little weird. And I woke up a bit late today... 6 a.m. I'm just so happy to find a quality, calorie burning exercise as kickboxing! And it's fun! Alright, I'll be quiet now! I'm kinda known for talking/typing to the point of annoyance, hehe:) MrsLovett |
crazy, crazy, crazy....:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:
No time for chit-chat, but wanted to pop in and say HI to my CC friends!!! |
Hey all,
Workout is done, and I'm half crippled, so I know it was a good one. :faint: Lunch is on the stove, so I'm just taking a break while I wait for it to cook. David, congrats on another pound down. :carrot: Every one is a step closer. Shoot, I celebrate 2 tenths of a pound lower than before, lol! MrsL, great job on the workouts! Seems like it's working! :celebrate: Lori, and anybody else I missed,. I'd better go check the food on the stove now. Just wanted to check in with my CC peeps! |
jamsk8r,
Great job on the workout! Sorry you are "crippled", though:) But at least you said it was a good one! I know how you feel! Guess what! I'm one pound down this morning, so... I REACHED MY GOAL WEIGHT for this challenge!!! I'm 141.0 lbs.!!! So proud! Okay, cranky this morning, but proud! :D Yesterday I did: 25 minutes kickboxing 55 minutes aerobics (both high and low) ~15 minutes strength training I felt crippled too, after the kickboxing! And with my bad scoliosis, I feel *terrible* in the mornings! So I felt achy from the workout this morning *plus* achy from the scoliosis! I keep saying I need to take an Ibuprofen before I go to bed. I think I walk too fast for my pedometer, hehe! Woohoo, I just put a new battery in it because it's been saying ridiculously low steps for the day (185 for a whole day???) and it's still no good. Still measuring pretty low. I don't know. I think I'm taking it easy today, if that is ever possible today. The increased kickboxing yesterday really knocked me out! MrsLovett |
Hi guys!!!! Hope everyone's doing well :) I am so sore....my friends and I rented bikes yesterday and rode for two hours along the Chicago waterfront and, together with all the tons of walking we did around the city, I am definitely feeling it now!!! Yesterday and this morning, my legs were so sore and it took a second to remember how to walk after getting up ;) LOL
But things are good with me. I haven't really lost anything weight wise, but I can feel changes in my body, so I'm hoping that my body is just playing catch up. I had been plugging right along for a good like 8 months, losing pretty consistently so I'm hoping my body is just responding late. Because it's frustrating ;) |
had my last iced coffee yesterday...im gonna sprint to the finish to try to make my 4th of july goal...looks like everyone is doing well...if i stay on task i can do it
|
I am in a bit of a hurry,
But wanted to say hey to all. I have 2 lbs to go for this challenge, I gotta go walk And then take my kids to the library~3 kids in a library ~OH GOD! 2 of them our in the summer reading program and are finger painting today~OH YAY~LOL~I hope they don't get my car a mess. My teenager Will hang with friends there and ignore me ~but thats ok She could be doing lots worse so I am thankful she is a good kid so far and hopefully always is. Gotta go. KEEP UP THE GOODWORK EVERYONE. |
Hey peeps.
Yesterday, we had a recovery day at the gym, since pretty much everybody was crippled from both Saturday's and Monday's killer workouts. So, we got to play around with headstands and side planks and such on the mats. I would have worked on my handstands, but my shoulders were still shot from the previous 2 workouts, and I just couldn't. Today I tried to work on my kipping pull-ups, but still, the shoulders are fried, so I have to wait on that, too. I will see how the shoulders feel tomorrow morning. :dizzy: Today's workout was deadlifts and running...one of my favorite combinations. It was fun, and it wasn't a squat or a push press, so I was happy! I also got to up my weight for the deadlifts today, to 135 lbs, up from the 115# I've been using for a while. I'm always happy when I graduate to a heavier weight for one of the lifts! I've got to get off here, because my boy and I have a date to do some reading together. I'll check in later to do replies, but I did catch up on my reading. We're in the homestretch, and everybody is doing great, looks like! |
Hi Gang...Popping in to say HELLO! I'm heading to Florida in the morning for a 5 day trip so I won't be around until next week. DH and the kids are staying home. :D I'm spending 3 days with college friends for a sorority reunion and then a couple days with my family on the beach! :sunny: I will do my best with food and drinks. I plan on plenty of exercise.
See you all soon! :high: |
Hope you have a fun & safe trip BARB!
Jam~You needed a bit of a break~You Are "The workout queen" . You are SO DANG FIT TO DO ALL THAT STUFF! I am losing but slowly~I am at 195.2 today . I am so proud of where I am at though. Nearly 65 lbs Lost Already and I feel like a new me already. Plus I am in onederland which is so awesome to me~That was a major goal for me to accomplish. Anyways if I complain in future of weight going off slowly remind me of this post HEHEHEHEHEHEHE. Later everyone ~Hope y'all have a super day. |
well, I'm 4 1/2 lbs away from the goal I set and while I most assuredly don't see me dropping that much in a little over a week some progress is better than no progress.
|
amynbebes ~So very true! You are doing great and you look fabulous in your avatar!
