I officially weigh myself Monday mornings, and this morning I was the same as I was last Monday morning (197). I noticed my fluctuation was a little lower on average than last week, but still, my ultimate number is the same. So, disappointed, hoping it is period-related as I am only a couple days past my time. I usually see no movement one week out of the month, but lately it's been 2 weeks out of the month.

Was really hoping to see 195 this week and 193 (which would be 60 lbs down) next Monday morning.

auer~j 04-06-2009 12:22 PM

Kate ~ That is what we are here for. Hang in there.

Dgramie ~ WOW, what an inspiration. Congrats on busting through that plateau and all you have accomplished.

Beach ~ I really struggle with sodium myself, I'm trying to stay away from those things that I KNOW will make me wake up the next morning feeling all puffy, but it's hard.

Thanks for the understand comments about my food intake while on the road. I'm going to be dealing with the same situation next week, so I think I'll plan a little better and maybe try and talk DH into taking a cooler and a packed lunch at least. I feel like I'm slacking on my water, so need to up that. Other than that I'm feeling pretty pumped for this week, my vacation! WOOT!

retiredone 04-06-2009 05:17 PM

Just a little  to everyone. I was up half the night with mom who decided she wanted to stay up all night so I'm really sleepy all day. No exercise yet. I wanted to do my circuit workout but I don't think I have the energy to do that. I'll hop on my bike and watch tv while I peddle for about an hour. Just hope I don't fall asleep and fall off the bike. :yikes:

prinny 04-06-2009 11:57 PM

Ate too much Mexican for dinner. Had a couple beers. While that isn't doing my diet any favours it's nice to have a treat now and again. I guess I'll just have to ride the bike longer tomorrow to make up for it. Needed the beer to deal with cramps anyway. Booze or hard narcotics are the only things that can tame my cramps. Sorry if TMI, still 'on' beer. lol.

I'll just have to ride the stationary bike another half hour or so tomorrow to make up for it.

Hair is finally done. Only took 5 hours this time and I have my blue braids again. I even weighed out the hair before putting it in then subtracted what I didn't use from that so I know how much to discount on my weigh-ins. I am pretty much one pound heavier due to fake hair now.

beach bum 04-07-2009 09:15 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Its another gloomy day,and I think its my ankle that's giving me problems when walking. Going to make an appointment with then doctor and find out why,did I sprain it when carrying a huge basket of laundry down to the basement.

VEGAS-Thanks,not going to worry about weight anymore.Just going to do the best I can with eating the healthy food.I was looking over a old food journal and I saw that my inches last year is 4" higher in my waist that this year,so I must be losing some inches, even though I don't see it.

WHITE-PICKET-FENCE-Our body's really fluctuate every day, some times in your case once at month is normal and than the chemistry changes to twice.

My w-i day is on Mondays also to keep me accountable over the weekend, but I weigh in every day top get a average total.

AUER-J-Now that I go to another calorie counting web site they have a chart that tells me how much sodium I taking in.That should help me in the long run,as I don't buy any frozen entrees anymore.I rather make the meal from scratch and try to keep the slat in the shaker and not in my food.

Oh my all means, hope you can find a plan that will work for you on the road. Good idea for asking your DH to bring meals along in a cooler, this way you have to option to cook & bring along on the trip.

RETIRE-Sorry that your couldn't find your ZZZ's but that's great that you got your biking done while watching TV.I haven't been on my bike since I hurt my leg/ankle.

Have to go, will be back this afternoon.

Vegaspunkermom 04-07-2009 09:25 AM

Hi everyone, TOM is here, and I feel disgusting, bloated, & achy all over. UGH!!!

White - Being the same is better than gaining! I hope you get your 60lbs down next Monday, that'd be awesome!

Auer - We always pack a cooler when we drive to Cali & such. I also bring all my regular snacks with me, so I dont feel even more tempted. Enjoy vacation!!

Prinny - Honestly, I smoke the jane often. :) ESPECIALLY when I have cramps. Its the only thing that works for me too. However, that being said, thats the only thing Ive ever done. I cant even remember when I last took a Tylenol. LOL Im an all natural kind of girl ;)

Beach - You're for sure losing inches, or else your clothes wouldnt fit better as you said! Heal your ankle well. While pregnant with my last baby, I tripped down the stairs, and had my ankle triple the size & bruised. I was hopping around for 3 days taking care of my other 2 kids. It was bad, so REST! Maybe do so arm/chest/back weight exercises to stay off of it.

Im doing strength training & abs today. I did cardio yesterday, and not sure Ill be able to do it again today due to TOM. Although I was a tad bit more hungry yesterday, I did stay OP with everything, and am so proud of myself!

auer~j 04-07-2009 10:20 AM

Good morning all you lovely ladies! I hope you are going to have a great day. Ok, enough of the oozing happiness because I'm not at work right now. =)

One bad thing is, it is snowing, big time! I thought it was Spring, ARG! I wanted to work in the yard this week! Oh well, I will have to settle with knitting and reading in the warm house.

I am going to go out to the library today and to the grocery store, too. Anyone have any good motivational books I can read? I used to read a lot, but I can't seem to get into fiction books anymore. I'm all about reading books that I can learn from or that will motivate me. I'm into photography too, so I might pick up some books on that.

I'm done with the Snackwells cookies, I've been going way overboard on them so I need to get some other healthy snacks and something for dinner this week, although I KNOW that DH is going to want to go out at least a couple of times. We usually save our christmas gift certificates for this week. I think we have a couple of them, one for the outback and one for someother restaurant that I've never been too. Oh well, I will make healthy choices! and then work my butt off on the elliptical!

retiredone 04-07-2009 11:49 AM

I must confess, I did not get on my bike last night. I was dead tired and went to bed.

I'm well rested today so I'll get in an hour for sure today.

prinny 04-08-2009 01:54 AM

Vegaspunkermom - J. just makes me fall asleep, never really enjoyed it myself. Sure do wish I could find a lower calorie alternative to booze though, lol.

My DH has decided we need a workout station in the house and is pricing and reading reviews of different things. If it will get him to workout then I will support it.

I feel like the Michelin Man today. Even my fingers feel bloated. *urgh* I will weigh myself in a few days when I no longer feel this gross. It is seriously NOT cool. Luckily I should be past it by Friday as we have plans.

Oh and my hair weighs .8 of a pound so when I DO weight myself I get to subtract that. I was very scientific about it. LOL.

beach bum 04-08-2009 09:49 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Going to be a quite day for the both of us,did most food marketing yesterday and now we can relax until my DD & her family arrive on Tuesday. I'll just do as much as I can, won't over do it with this bum leg.

VEGAS-I'm so happy I don't have TOM arriving at my door anymore. He can feel can do that to you, hope you'll feel better soon. I going to take it easy for the next couple of days and than on Sat I will have to straighten up the the guest room my DD % Her family will be in.YIKES!!! You had worse than me having to take care of 2 kids when healing you're ankle,I only have my DH with me. Going to do some hand weights tonight,& some stand up belly crunches.

AUER-J-Motivating books,in what subject, just can't think of any off hand.I have to renew my library card since the library was renovated I haven't been there.,guess it time for me to revisit.

RETIRE-Don't get upset not exercising last night if the body is tired it best to get rest ,today is another day and if you feel up to it great,do what you can is all you can ask of yourself.

Going to rest my leg, have a great morning

auer~j 04-08-2009 10:44 AM

Beach ~ oh I was thinking anything related to weight loss, but anything really. I got myself some gardening books, a photography book (I'm helping assist a wedding in May) and some cook books. DH is driving me NUTS though. He talked me into going out for dinner again last night. I need to get on the ball ASAP and I think I'm going to go start now by getting my butt on the elliptical, double time! (yeah, right) hehe. It sounded good though right?

Vegaspunkermom 04-08-2009 12:35 PM

Morning all!!

Prinny - Im the exact opposite, and the occasional drink is cool, but Ill take the dro over everything else. Sometimes it certainly makes dieting hard, but Ive made lifestyle changes now, so its easy! Im bloated right there with you! I wish I could see your hair!

Beach - Ya know what makes me very upset about TOM? Im done having kids, tubes are tied, yet, it still arrives. UGH. Its pointless now, ya know? How exciting to have your DD come visit & what a long way I have until I have that time of my life to come. I try to take every moment of their childhoods and love it, although, as Im sure you know, thats sometimes rough!

Auer - There is a restaurant guide I use before going out to eat, that way, I am confidant when I walk into a restaurant. Just choose the place before you leave, and this site can help you make a good choice there. Its www.healthydiningfinder.com

Nicki, Momof, where are you ladies? I hope all is alright with you all!

This might be TMI, but TOM left, and came back today. I was BLOATED so much for 2-3 days that the scale said 3, almost 4lbs. heavier, and I was FREAKING out. Today however, its back, and the scale read 170.3, so I actually lost ALL the bloat AND I pound! I am VERY excited, because 169 will offiicially be 40lbs. and I am SO thrilled!

Off to run errands with the family! We have grocery shopping, post office, library, and an oil change to accomplish today! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

prinny 04-09-2009 03:14 AM

I have been a BAD girl the last few days. Ate too much, though I didn't go over my maintenance calories so I seriously doubt I did too much damage. I was supposed to work out Tuesday and just was not into it. I was tired and crampy and frankly *****y and just went to bed.

Today I was much better though! I ate well, maybe even a little too little, and just finished working out. I haven't weighed myself since last weekend due to TOM but I think i should be past the worst of it so I might just brave the scale tomorrow. I mean, I have to try my dress on for this weekend's event anyway to make sure I didn't take it in too much.

Do you guys put in errands like as walking around exercise?

EDIT:
Oh crap I REALLY did not eat enough today. I have only had 800 calories today. I just got so busy I forgot to eat. Not having a job with a set schedule is so bad for that. I guess I'll go cram a sandwich down my gullet but that still won't be enough. No WAY can I make up like 500 calories cause it's bed time.

beach bum 04-09-2009 10:47 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Nothing new,Its going to be a long weekend waiting for my orthopedic doctors appointment this Monday.I was going to sing with my choir for Holy Thursday but now that my ankle is still acting up I won't be able to attend. The standing and kneeing is going to be to much for me. Hope I will be able to make the Easter services instead.

Weight is till up,but I'm averaging the week up instead of the day. so there might be a small change by then.

AUER-J-I don't know of any books of hand but I do rely on the internet. Some diet or health web sites have weight loss success stories that you can read. But Vegas gave you a great web site for healthy dining.

VEGAS-That strange,I thought if you had anything like that TOM would disappear. I know he left me when I had a partial hysterectomy. ENJOY your children every minute of the day and write down little things that they say or do, as the days fly by to fast and then they gone. My DD & the DGC came up this summer of Leo birthday and we were going out for lunch.MY DD told the kids to get into the car because we're going to Friendly. My GD came out with a reply" OH NO WE HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY HOME AGAIN" No dear Grandma has a Friendly here. Leo & I will always remember that remark, that made us smile.

PRINNY-We all make mistakes in our WOE just do the best you can the next day.Remember the old saying YESTERDAY PASSED- TOMORROW IS THE FUTURE- AND TODAY IS THE PRESENT. OR GIFT USE IT WISELY.. I used walking up the & down the stairs on laundry day as a exercise.

Have a great morning

nicki rose98 04-09-2009 11:10 AM

I have been a SLACKER!!!!!! LOL. I know I did nothing on Sunday. I think I did something Saturday. Monday I did nothing cuz I came home and ate dinner and then was too tired. Tuesday my BF and I got in our first fight and I was too upset to do anything. Yesterday my BF came over and I didn't do anything. LOL.

Tonight however is my first personal training session so I'm back on that wagon big time. I gained over the weekend and it all just came off yesterday so I'm back on track.

Sorry again I've been missing! My computer was down so I couldn't get on all weekend and I've been busy at work. But here I am!

WhitePicketFences 04-09-2009 11:36 AM

Prinny, I have been there with underdoing it, and I just chalk up the remainder to, "Well, I probably underreported something, at some time, and this makes up for that."

So the last three mornings of weighing myself has seen the fluctuation be 192-194. So I guess Monday's 197 (fluctuation 195-197)was TOM holdover. I like to weigh myself all week, too, but I only log Monday morning highs with parenthetical fluctuations into my notebook. I am excited for this upcoming Monday's weigh-in. Things have been slower lately, even though I've been feeling better than ever.

Vegaspunkermom 04-09-2009 06:54 PM

Hi everyone!

Prinny - When I actually charted calories & exercise, I didnt personally count regular everyday tasks like cleaning or taking care of kids, but I did count the walking when I went shopping or something. Let us know how the dress looks!

Beach - I am so sorry you cant sing with your choir :( I really hope you're alright for Easter service. Im sure the weight will come off in the next few days. Especially since it isnt even a pound. Yeah TOM only stops when lady parts are actually removed, and mine are just tied, so it still comes, every month. I am actually a scrapbooker, and have detailed books for each of my children starting at pregnancy, and continuing throughout the years. I started about 3months ago and am almost caught up 5 years (my oldest is almost 5). I journal on the pages about memories, have milestone pages, and even their favorite toys, foods, and songs I liked that made me think of them. I do it for myself, as well as them, because I know I wont remember the small stuff forever. Your GD sounds like a DOLL! :D

Nicki - Glad you're alright & that your weight is right on track! Let me know how your personal trainer session went!

White - Although we all rely on the scale, in the end, feeling better means SO SO much more! ;) Looking forward to your W-I Monday. I think I might W-I Monday also.

Just getting things ready for Easter here! I like to construct my own baskets rather than buy pre-packaged ones. Im also buying baby food & baby snacks for our California vacation next weekend. The baby eats 1 bowl of cereal & 6 jars of baby food per day, and we're staying for 5 days. Just more stuff to add to the ridiculous amount of items we need to pack.

I did 20 minutes of strength training & 20 minutes of pilates today. Im becoming a real pilates freak, I LOVE it! Tomorrow is my cardio day, and than Saturday will be a circut training combining both!.

prinny 04-09-2009 08:20 PM

beach bum, WhitePicketFences & Vegaspunkermom I usually think about how I am doing in 3 day groups. I ate too much Monday & Tuesday then ate too little Wednesday, well that averages out. Ate too much Tuesday, ate too little Wednesday I need to be more balanced today. Ate too little Wednesday, am gonna be balanced Thursday, I can go over Friday which I am planning too as I am going out dancing and will have a few drinks.

I think that makes sense and it seems to work for me.

We just brought home our new bowflex machine which was several hundred dollars off. DH says he will workout with this, so I approved it. I don't mind having it for me either, especially since it has a rowing function so I can switch up the stationary bike riding. I am always nervous about big purchases like this though especially since he is notoriously bad about exercising.

Vegaspunkermom 04-10-2009 12:40 PM

Had to share this morning ladies!! I W-I today, and...

169!! Thats officially 40lbs lost!! I am ecstatic! I even took a scale pic!
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...sses/40lbs.jpg

GOODBYE 170's, FOREVER!! WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO

prinny 04-11-2009 09:13 PM

Vegas, WOOT!!!

I was naughty but also good last night. I had several beers and vodka/sodas but I danced for 3 hours. It's not light dancing either I do this very fast version of tai chi when I dance. I also ate under yesterday and mostly ate protein. When I got home I drank two bottles of water and ate a can of tuna with a teaspoon of smart balance mayo. I have zero hangover and by all rights I should have a nasty one I drank a lot but I guess I burned most of it dancing. Oh but I am super sore today though. I worked muscles my current workout is obviously missing, must go dancing more.

dgramie 04-12-2009 09:06 AM

Happy Easter

beach bum 04-12-2009 10:45 AM

Hi Ladies:)

Just here to wish you all a :easter2: and enjoy your company and food, tomorrow is another day.:easter2:

:bunny:VEGAS:bunny:-Thanks I was there in spirit.I watched the Mass on TV instead. I don't think the scale is going to be kind to me tomorrow at my W-I,trying to console myself in comfort food having this ankle problem. Well there always next week.
BIG CONGRATS VEGAS ON BRINGING THE SCALE DOWN TO THE 160'S YOU HAVE DONE FANTASTIC!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

:bunny:PRINNY:bunny:-That a good way of balancing your calories. I trying to eat less near my Monday W-I but Sat & today are not going to be good with the holiday meals surrounding us.

:bunny:DGRAMIE:bunny: Happy Easter to you also.

Have to go,will be back some time tomorrow to let you know what the doctor said.

Vegaspunkermom 04-12-2009 01:45 PM

Thanks for the Congrats ladies!!

I hope everyone has a :bunny2: WONDERFUL Happy Easter! :bunny2:

Remember to try and stay OP when eating all the yummy things today! Thats my goal for today, and I am going to do it!!

Beach - Glad you got to watch everything on TV, but Im still sorry you couldnt be there. Ill be watching for your W-I tomorow!

Prinny - Nothing like awesome drunken cardio. I was doing that way before losing weight, however, eating like a hog balanced that out to mean nothing. LOL

Alright, time to get the kiddos dressed in their Easter best, and its off to my parents' house soon!

prinny 04-12-2009 07:36 PM

I am SO SORE. ARGH!!! I need to try and play good dancing music at home at least once a week when I am not going out for a cardio workout to get these muscles used to that again. I actually used to be a dancer once upon a long long time ago.

You know I am getting kind of frustrated with the scale though. I have a trip mid June and I know it really isn't possible to be to my goal by then but I want to be SO BAD.

WhitePicketFences 04-13-2009 08:46 AM

I love that you posted a pic, Vegas! That's great; I can't wait to see that number on my bathroom scale.

I'm in a great mood this morning, because the scale only flitted up to 193. Last week I was bummed that it didn't say 195, but now I'm all giddy from what I've dubbed the "double drop."

Also, prinny, I've always thought dancing is the most fun cardio.

beach bum 04-13-2009 09:05 AM

Good Morning Ladies

Hope you all had a great holiday. Our was quite but nice.

Its finally "D" Day I go to the doctors to have my ankle/leg checked on.

My sister gave me a scare Eeker last night when she called and hoped I didn't have Achilles heels as she told me" if I don't get it right away they have to operate and I might limp for the rest of life." She's all good news!!!

Than on the better note she told me that my DD Her DH and my DS and the family had a wonderful time at her house. The kids like plain rigtoni noodles as the put them on there fingers and eat them from there. At least that made me laugh.

W-I and I gained as expected.Even if it was.3 it now brought the scale up 1-lb.Hope its water retention from my painful leg muscle.

VEGAS-Didn;t do good at my W-I this morning I think its might be water retention form my bad leg muscle. Here's to next week.

PRINNY-Hope your leg muscle feels better today'

WHITE PICKET FENCES-Big Congrats that the scale co-operated with you and should you a 2 lbs loss.

Have to go, will post later my doctors results

Vegaspunkermom 04-13-2009 11:03 AM

Hi everyone!

White - Congrats on your loss, AWESOME!! You've lost so much already! I cant wait until I can say Ive dropped a full 60lbs.

Beach - Im sorry about your gain, and really hope its water. A friend of mine has heel spurs, and she is very heavy. It feels like something is sticking in her heel all the time. Please let us know how your Dr appt goes!

I am proud of myself! I did great yesterday! I ate:

A little bit of baked ham, all fat cut off of course.
Half of a baked sweet potato
1/4 cup of low fat mashed potatoes (no butter, VERY little salt, & nonfat milk)
1/2 cup of fresh green beans
1/4 of corn

I skipped the mac & cheese, regular mashed potatoes, & my favorite, my dad's homemade green bean cassarole made with sour cream, 3 cheeses, & those crispy fried onions.

For dessert I had a Weight Watchers dessert, 170 calories & it was YUM. I also had a cup of coffee.

I skipped 3 kinds of pie, and 2 kinds of cookies!

This was my first holiday test (I started this December 28th) & I am so proud of how I passed it!

beach bum 04-13-2009 05:04 PM

Just got home from the doctor and he told me he saw a small tear in my ankle but not enough for a booth or cast.Showed me the xray, and I must say I have cute footsies :D:D

He told me do RICE method[rest, ice, compression & elevate]told him I do that already. He also said that if the pain doesn't go away in 6 weeks I should come back to see him.So the only thing I can do along with RICE is to take Ibuprofen & Dr Scholl's arch support,as my arch is falling.

Thanks goodness that's over.

Now we're going to wait for my DD phone call to let us know what time she's going to arrive tomorrow. Bad thing there nothing opened here on the Cape until the end of MAY.So we have to make our own fun.

Have a great evening will post in the morning

Beach - Glad its nothing major! I was advised the same thing for my bad sprain and remember how awful it was, so I hope you get better soon! Have a wonderful time with your DD & your GC!

Ive been disgustingly lazy today. So tired, cant get motivated, and I have a headache. It been like this pretty much all day. I hope I feel more like myself tomorrow.

prinny 04-14-2009 03:57 AM

beach bum Glad it is only fairly minor!

I am making plans to go dancing more, but with less beer, lol. Maybe once a week? I think that should help the cause! It'll also be FUN. I need more fun and variety in my exercise or I am going to get sick of it. Since I absolutely can not do any kind of outside activities during the day due to sun sensitivity and allergies. Plus it's going to be harder to work out at all once it gets hot. I can't take heat. Anything above 75 is uncomfortably warm for me.

TMI:
I was up a bit today but I think it's cause my system is uh, well there's no really delicate way to put it, backed up a bit. I realized I haven't had any coffee in a few days and I blame that. Had some coffee and I feel more... liberated. *ahem*

Vegaspunkermom 04-14-2009 10:39 AM

Prinny - The dancing plan sounds great! I wish I could do something like that right now. ALL of my close friends are pregnant, seriously, all of them. So unless I want to take my little sister who's under age, or my mom, Im screwed for now. I totally feel you on the coffee thing, as thats my daily 'starter' too. If you want something stronger than coffee in that aspect, try Fiber One cereal, the kind with flakes, not pellets. I think its called honey something, and it has 51% of your daily fiber. I usually eat it the night before I W-I. The next day you'll be feeling empty LOL

Hope everyone else is having a great day!

Also, Momof, Im worried about you, and hope you're well and will be back soon!

Today I feel better than yesterday. Im going to do some cardio and strength today and enjoy relaxing after. Then the next 3 days will be getting ready for Disneyland. We're leaving Saturday at 5am!

prinny 04-14-2009 06:12 PM

Vegaspunkermom High fibre stuff just makes things worse for me! I get more fibre than I used to as it is since I am actually not living entirely on meat and pasta like I once did. LOL.

FINALLY down 15. I'd be more excited but I am impatient and I don't think the weight is coming off as fast as it should. I have tried eating more and that does not help me at all. If you successfully lose 2.0 pounds/week, you can expect to achieve your target weight by July 21st, 2009. The problem is I am NOT losing 2 a week. It's more like 1.5 or less and I really am NOT satisfied with that. When I was younger I could lose 3 a week or more. VERY frustrated. :(

Vegaspunkermom 04-16-2009 11:27 AM

Morning Ladies, hope you all are enjoying your week & staying OP! Its been quiet around here lately.

We're leaving for the in-laws house & Disneyland on Saturday at 5am.

Im very nervous about this whole trip. Since starting the weight loss, I havent been out of my own element for a long period of time. Now, Ill be at the inlaws house, and then 2 days in Disneyland. My inlaws are healthy people, so Im not overly worried and told my husband if need be, Ill go food shopping for certain things. Im bringing protein bars, weight control oatmeal, 100 calorie packs, splenda, and have asked her to buy fat free milk.

Im also worried about Disney. We're having 2 meals with the characters, and one is a buffet breakfast. I REALLY hope they have good choices. Im going to be bringing a sandwich and snacks for myself throughout the day.

I had a good friend who 2 years ago lost 100lbs. She went to Disney for 2 days while losing the weight, ate whatever she wanted, felt guilty the entire way home, and wound up losing 4lbs. She said you walk 7-11 miles per day in Disney, and Im going for 2 days. I certainly hope thats true, and that doing that, combined with good choices, will help me maintain, if not lose weight this next week.

Sorry for the vent, SO nervous! :?: I dont want to gain!!!

MissLoud 04-16-2009 11:05 PM

Hello Hello!

Just a wee note to let you know I'm still on track - been renovating our house so the computer is out of commission!

Hope evenone is doin fine.

I'm down 11 kg now - thats nearly 25 pound and I'm quietly proud I've manage to stay on plan - couple of slip ups but I'm only human!

dgramie 04-17-2009 07:45 AM

just a quick flyby for me...food is great, exercise is addicting and water is so easy again. THe weather is warmer and im loving being outside. GOt panises planted yesterday today will plant bulbs. I love spring!!
hugs to all...

prinny 04-17-2009 07:51 AM

Worked out tonight on schedule and have been fairly good with food. I keep forgetting to eat enough though.

Satria 04-17-2009 11:08 AM

Hi I'm new here

I've been calorie counting with the LoseIt iPhone app. It's going pretty well so far.
I'm a vegetarian, although the rest of the family is not. My main problem is not eating so much cheese! It's so yum, I can't help myself. Although lately I've been buying healthier cheeses and trying to use less.

Weekends I am a bit more liberal with my counting, the only thing is to not let the weekend start at Friday noon

I have been exercising more too - the weather is finally clearing up and I think I may go for a bike ride this afternoon - I know my son would love that!

Nice meeting you all! :)

FRIDAY everyone, w00t!

Hope you all are doing well! :D

Satria - Welcome!! I dont have the Iphone, but I heard that app wasnt that great. Im glad you're doing well with it. Before starting this, I wasnt anything near a vegetarian, now I usually only eat chicken or ground turkey 3 times a week, and have fish the rest of the time. Ive had red meat (a steak) once in over 4 months. Its not that Im trying to be one or anything, I just dont WANT it.

Well I W-I today at 168, so thats 1lb. lost this week. I was hoping to lose 2, but given this past week and my exercise, Im NOT surprised. Its always the darn exercise that gets me, and the eating is SO easy for me now, like second nature. However, I found a new love. Special K chocolate delight. OMG ladies, if you're craving chocolate, go buy a box, NOW! YUMMMMMM!:hun:

So we leave for our vacation tomorrow at 5am. I wont be back on until Thursday. I am FULLY planning to stay OP 100%, walk my BOOTIE off at Disneyland for 2 days, and take a walk or 2 with the in-laws and the kiddos too!

Talk to everyone Thursday!!

Satria Welcome. Love cheese, really REALLY love cheese. Jarlsberg lite is a great full flavored swiss, Alpine Lace also makes some great lower fat cheeses. This stuff is usually in the deli section. it's a bit more spendy but totally worth it if you are a cheese lover because it's low fat cheese that doesn't taste like low fat cheese.

Vegaspunkermom I am totally addicted to the special K strawberry. My husband loves the nasty Pecan and worm guts (or whatever) Special K [1]. I have to try the chocolate, though I fear he might binge on it a bit. He can be very naughty with cereal.

Ate too many veggies over the last few days and my tummy is rebelling. No salads for a few days. I thought I had the salad revenge licked by using LOTS of vinegar as my salad dressing but either I didn't use enough or I had too much fruit on top of the salads.

Oh well. At least it gave me an excuse to figure out a new version of one of my favorite comfort foods, cheese & rice. Figured out a big bowl using 2 servings of rice and 2 slices of jarlsberg lite torn up into pieces so it'll melt for 420 calories which is a good meal for me. Add in a little low sodium soy sauce and I am quite satisfied with it. It was yummy and I once again felt like I was eating real food, not diet food. That's important to both my husband and me, to not feel like we are eating diet food because diet food is laaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

[1] I hate Pecans. To me they smell and taste like Georgia, so I have no idea what the other flavour is with them and it might as well be worm guts because I am not touching that nasty stuff. :p

Good Morning Ladies:)

I'm Back!!! Hows everyone doing????? Had a wonderful time with my grand children & DD,but all good things must end as they went back home yesterday.

I'm very exhausted, going all over town with them taking to the Children Museum and than to the Aquarium and play ground. My leg is really bothering me,going to call the doctor on Monday to see if I can make another appointment with him. The meds & the ice paks are not working.

Afraid to get on the scale with all the restaurants & fast food joints we went to, I probably went up to where I was at the beginning of the year.

Haven't gone thought the threads this morning, hopefully I will be read them over the weekend.
