I'm so tired I can hardly type. We had a great Thanksgiving with the family home and today I gave mom a perm. That's why I'm so tired. I hate doing that but she needs one every few months because her hair is so straight. She can't go to a salon to get it done because she's not able to sit up too long (although she has to when I do it but we can rest if we need to). I was so tired that I walked into the door frame when I was going into her room. Didn't hurt any body parts but that tells you how tired I am.

I've read the posts and the little guy is really cut Canadianwoman. Dgramie you must be nearly out of your skin awaiting the new arrival. We're having one in March and I'm getting a bit excited now myself. Zenor great news about the job. GrammyL, you know why some animals eat their young, but this will pass with time. Rain Dancer, we bought a car that I couldn't get out of without a struggle but since I've lost over 40 pounds it's easy now so I know what you're talking about. Grand isn't it to get about without trouble.

Must put my head down and my feet up for a few minutes.

Tinky009 10-14-2008 12:16 AM

Ok, I gotta keep a better grip on here. LOL I haven't been back on any plan since getting back. I plan on finishing the week out, and recharging myself, and sit my booty down and re-evaluate my plan of action. I can't seem to get motivated, but with my clothes slowly fitting a bit snugger, makes this girl have a tiny ember still. LOL!

Rain- Thanks for the welcome back! It's nice to take a vacation, but I truly believe it's a lot harder to get back into your routine when you get home. I am trying.

Grammy- Hey woman!! Thanks for keeping DH and I in your thoughts. It's not easy. But then again, I took a vow for better or for worse. DH is ok, he's able to joke about it at times, but he has his tense moments. I wish they would hurry and sort it all out and tell him whether he will have a job by the end of the year or not. Just wishful thinking on my part.
Tuna and coconut? I love both, but I don;t know about putting them 2gether. LOL....I am ready to be creative on this plan again. Atleast I can put to rest that Tuna Coconut salad recipe. I'm kidding. ;) I am sorry about your foot issues. Glad to know it's better. Thanks for the awesome welcome back! I've missed ya woman. I will go back and re-read your post more and reply. I just basically skimmed through.

Zenor- WAHOOOOO, congrats on getting a job! Where are you working, if you don't mind me asking? I wish you lots of success and happiness. Glad you're liking ABQ. Around this time of the year I miss the luminarias. To me, that meant the holidays were around the corner. Let us know how the new job goes for you.

Retire- Get some rest!! But how wonderful you had a nice Thanksgiving! Man I gotta start thinking about that soon. Yikes! It'll be our first as a married couple. Nothing different, but we're married. LOL

Canadian- Don't feel bad, we understand that you have a busy life too. I mean look at me, lately, I have been coming and going lots.

Ok, need to get me to bed, I have to get up at 5 tomorrow.

Have a great evening or morning wherever you are. LOL Talk to you tomorrow.

dgramie 10-14-2008 07:03 AM

I have a beautiful granddaughter. Mom and baby are doing good. Mom had to have a csection after a long day of labor.
My scales are up 6lbs today but my hands are puffy and i know i didnt drink enough water yesterday. My kindeys are complianing..i hope i dont end up with an infection. I get to call the dentist today and maybe get this tooth fixed later in the week.
Im back to babysitting my 3 littles one today after a week off...im usr it will be a long day!!
hugs

Rain Dancer 10-14-2008 11:54 AM

Congratulations, Dgramie!

G'morning, everyone. I just wanted to do a fly by and say hi. :D

GrammyL 10-14-2008 11:59 AM

Congratulations on the new granddaughter dgramie!

retiredone 10-14-2008 12:22 PM

Congratulations on the new baby, dgramie. How much did she weigh? Glad everyone is doing well.

GrammyL 10-14-2008 01:50 PM

Tinky I sure hope that everything works out for the good with your DH's job. Chase is another huge company so maybe his opportunities will broaden. The thing that amazes me is how much propaganda that DH and I still get from WaMu every week. I imagine they hire a company to send this out and maybe its part of the contract that they keep sending. Not sure.

As far as restarting the program I would like to suggest that you really plan out the first couple of weeks because its tough to restart. There are a few things that I allow myself to have just to flavor my salads and proteins. They don't affect my loss but other than that I am on plan. Oh, I also don't eliminate any fruit other than watermelon. For some reason watermelon affects my weight loss.

Chele615 10-14-2008 04:28 PM

Congratulations dgramie!!!! I'm sure she's beautiful :)

zenor77 10-14-2008 04:46 PM

Dgramie~ Congratulations on the new granddaughter!

Thanks for all the congrats on the job. It's a receptionist/admin position with a sign design and manufacturing company. The do building and ADA signs and mostly work with architects. It sounds like I'll have lots to do (no boredom) which is great. I had way too much down time at my last few jobs.

canadianwoman 10-15-2008 04:37 AM

I am just popping in to say congratulations on the new granddaughter. I am looking forward to seeing her pics.
Babies are sooooo special.:D

dgramie 10-15-2008 07:25 AM

Thanks for all the congrats. Yes she is precious!! She weighs 7lbs 10 oz. and is 20 in long. Scales are up anther few lbs today..not sure what is going on..tom just left. I am going to exercise today!! Im wondering if an increase in my blood pressure med might cause me to retain water. I have to increase it when i take sinus meds. My pill doesnt have a diuretic in it. I dont take one with my bp meds because i have never needed one before. GRRR My rings are usually lose in the morning and i noticed today they feel tight. Oh well i have been within my calories if anything maybe a bit low. maybe a bit to much soduim in my meals from eating out ....water water water today!!
hugs to all

GrammyL 10-15-2008 09:53 AM

Zenor sounds like an interesting job with variety. With your artistic skills and knowledge you should bring a lot to the job.

dgramie one of our faculty members wife just had a 9 lb 12 oz baby boy and he is early because they induced labor. The doctor was worried that the baby was going to end up way to big and since it was her first he didn't want to take chances. After 18 hrs of labor and 2 1/2 hrs of pushing they did a C-section. Both are doing fine but that was a big baby. I thought she might have had diabetes but they said no.

I did great on my plan yesterday but no loss and no gain which is great. Hopefully I will see 184 tomorrow. I am really going to be good this week. Used to be I always got stuck on Wednesdays but I think it will switch to Tuesdays now because I am able to stay on track on Sundays now. I know its sounds crazy but I always get stuck one day a week. LOL!

Well I better get going for now, its snack time. I have a turkey patty and apple. I really like apples this time of year, fall fruit.

Tinky009 10-15-2008 10:55 AM

Hey all......happy Wednesday! It's so chilly out today!

Dgramie- :congrat: How exciting! You're now a grandma! Yay!!!!!!!!!!! You should post a pic of her soon!

Grammy- I will keep you all posted on DH's job status. So far he told me that if he gets laid off, he will get one huge lump sum, he'll use that to pay our debts, and then take us to Europe for vacation. We have been wanting to go for so long. I told him to hold off on that for now. Don't get in over our heads. LOL This weekend I will be shoppping for the 6WBMO, I am going to make soup too. That keep me full and warm. I am going to sit down this week and plan out my meals. I need to jump back on, my cute jeans are snug.

Zenor- The job sounds like it will be busy but rewarding! Good luck again!

GrammyL 10-15-2008 12:19 PM

Tinky my cute jeans are snug also and that is why I am really sticking with it. I was amazed on Sunday how I stuck to plan. I even turned down eating out because I could tell what type of places DH wanted to go. I said lets go home and I will make lunch. The day before we ate out and lets say I was bad, real bad. I needed to recover on Sunday. Thank goodness I did because I stayed the same.

A trip to Europe, what a dream. He must be higher up in the ranks then if they are going to be that kind.

I like soup also and there are so many soups you can make that are on the program. I like my grandma's homemade veggie soup recipe. I might have to make that this weekend. I also like chili but I am going to start getting mine out before the beans go in because beans destroy my weight loss. I have made it without the beans and its still good and I lose eating. If I eat the beans I gain over night magically. It takes a couple of days before it leaves too.

Well I am off to eat my turkey patty with basil, oatmeal (love oatmeal) and coleslaw salad with just a dab of Newmans light honey mustard dressing. YUMMY MEAL!

I know oatmeal for lunch? Yes, I love oatmeal because I am a big sweet eater and I am creative with flavoring my oatmeal. I have several different ways I flavor it and it takes my sweet tooth away. To me its like eating a cookie.

Rain Dancer 10-16-2008 10:25 AM

Hey everyone.

Zenor, I am so glad that you found a job that you will enjoy and that will challenge you. :D

Tinky, Europe, huh? Need someone to carry your bags, fetch coffee, shine your shoes... ;):D Seriously, tho. While I don't wish a job loss on you, I do hope that you get to go. An opportunity like that would be wonderful.

Okay, I don't know what is in the air, this morning. My allergies are on high alert and I am going nuts. I am also feeling icky and sick and mad at myself. I am having a rough week, for some reason. I had a free day on Monday, then I ate like an idiot yesterday, too. Blech! Part of it is that I am struggling with depression. Part of it is that I am just an idiot. I feel all puffy and nasty, this morning. I need to drink a ton of water and keep my idiot arse on track.

Gah! :mad::mad::mad:

Tinky009 10-16-2008 10:30 AM

Grammy- I told the boys that this Christmas I want nothing but giftcards for clothes, but I don't want to end up getting clothes because I got bigger! That would be so bad of me. I don't plan on letting that happen.
DH is not on the higher ups, but he is entitled to that lump sum. He said he might know something in the coming weeks.
Yeah I plan on cooking a big batch of vegetable soup. It stores easily and so filling. I am looking for a treadmill still, may have to have DH ask his mom whether she would be willing to give up the treadmill, it's been sitting in the garage for for 3 years now. That will help me slim down in no time too. I am good with the treadmill.

Well have a great Thursday everyone. I am bound to be busy today. We have the flu shot clinic today, and also I have a piano player coming at at 1:30 for my residents.

Tinky009 10-16-2008 10:33 AM

Rain- I guess that is my problem I am also torn with Dh's job situation, I am trying to remain ambitious, but at the same time Europe doesn't sound too bad. LOL! I am sorry you have been feeling down. How long have you been feeling that way? Emotional eating sure sucks, I know I am a constant victim of it. Hope you feel better soon.

GrammyL 10-16-2008 11:25 AM

Rain

GrammyL 10-16-2008 12:49 PM

That is an excellent idea Tinky. I think I will ask for gift cards also. It can be a reward for losing the rest of this weight. I had a treadmill once and was glad to see it go because I never used it. Now that I am into exercise I wish I had it back. I actually was offered it back but they turned it on and it made so much noise that I said forget it. I am not sure what they did to it but it was a really nice one. ARG!

Rain it is definitely the time of year for depression. As day light gets shorter it starts to set in on me. I tend to be depressed anyway but it is really noticeable then. Considering you are noticing bloated hands and such drinking the water will wash away the damage. Chin up! I know easier said than done.

I was so happy this morning when I got on the scale. I skipped 184 and I was at 183.8 this morning. Not far below 184 but I did skip it. LOL! I was so happy that I passed on DD's invite to binge with her last night. TOM is here visiting her and she was hungry, I know that out of control feel. I didn't say anything to her because it always hurt my feelings when people said anything to me when I was doing it. She had some really nummy looking ICK too but I told her and me for that matter "I have a choice, I can eat that and not lose, potential gain or I can stick with my program and eat a healthy snack and potential lose weight". I am glad I chose to not eat it. It really worked saying that out loud to myself so I may start doing that more often. It really is a choice and a hard one.

Well I better go I need to get some work done.

GrammyL 10-17-2008 04:00 PM

Well off for the weekend and I will talk to you all on Monday.

Sooo... Hanging in better, now. On track and getting my exercise. I am going to be a tad high, calorie wise, today. Probably closer to 1500 or so. But it will be fine. I am curious to see what my weight is on Monday morning. I just hope it is down. :dizzy:

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My ex-boyfriend was 13 pounds when he was born. His mom is a tiny little lady. No diabetes either.

dgramie 10-18-2008 09:36 PM

Wow I cant imagine having a baby that big. Our little lady only weighed 7lbs 10 ounces and is 20"long.
Scales were good today..down 1.2lbs which puts me to my 75lb off mark. It feels good!! Were starting back to weight lifting tommorow evening..it will be hard to get use to doing it again but worth it in the end. I know i really need to firm up again. Plus it will also speed up my weight loss. Wedding is getting closer all the time. Just a little over 4 months and i would love to lose 32lbs so i can be under 200 by then.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend
hugs

retiredone 10-19-2008 06:28 PM

Hi everyone. I've been gone this weekend attending DS (MA) and DIL's (BA) university graduation. Had one really off plan day as far as calories are concerned because we ate out with family and DS's colleagues who had also earned their MAs. It was the healthy sounding whole wheat linguine with a tomato and red pepper sauce that did me in along with the 2 very small pieces of Greek pizza and a piece of cheese bread. Oh, and 2 cookies at the informal reception following the grad. The cookies were just too much and I didn't feel that good in the stomach department. Skipped breakfast next morning because I wanted to make sure everything had cleared out of there before I ate my next meal.

Very tired now so I'll finish off and try and get some shut eye.

ready2lose 10-20-2008 03:59 AM

WHOOOO HOOOOO :carrot::carrot::carrot:

I meant my first goal......down to 189.

Weighed in this morning and down 2 more lbs.

Last week when I didn't lose anything I realized that I had feel off the band wagon for drinking my water so this past week I made sure to drink 7+ glasses a day and I guess it worked.

Now to lose 2 more lbs to make my first 10 lbs loss :cp:

Wishing everyone else the best!

GrammyL 10-20-2008 02:09 PM

Ready2lose, if I don't drink my water I don't lose. I really don't understand totally why but I don't lose if I don't drink enough water. Good job on your first goal. BRAVO!

Retiredone, cookies are my big down fall. I haven't met one yet that didn't want me to eat it so it could stick on my gut. LOL! I really do have a problem with cookies so I avoid them at all cost. Holidays are the hardest because DH loves them also and I can't make them without eating them. I did find a frozen kind that he likes so that helps. That is fantastic about the degrees your DS and DIL finished. Its a lot of work.

Rain that still isn't to bad for calories. I am glad to hear you are feeling better and I hope todays weigh in goes well. HUGS!

Well the weekend went well didn't lose didn't gain which I am fine with. TOM came to visit me again this month which isn't unusual now with the change. I was complaining to DH and he said its just part of the change. GRRR! At least he is being understanding.

Anyway, I lost 2 lbs last week so I am happy with that and if I keep losing 2 lbs a week by mid April I will be at goal.

Went to look at that workhorse after all and decided he wasn't for me. He was much bigger than anticipated. I couldn't get on by myself because he was way to tall and I couldn't reach the saddle horn. DH helped me on and then he wouldn't move. I was like a fly on his back. I had to turn his head to the side and kick to get him out of neutral and then he walked like a turtle. Then I couldn't keep him going and I would kick and kick. Nothing worked and I told him I will tell others about him because he is a nice horse but he is really just to big for me. He was also jerking me around when I was trying to lead him because he wanted to eat and he knew he was bigger than me. ARG!

Have to get going and I will talk to you all later.

Tinky009 10-20-2008 02:27 PM

Hey all!! I am not back on plan yet, TOM is coming and on top of that I managed to slam the car door on my left thumb! OUCH!!! That was one of the worst pains I have ever felt for now atleast until I have kids. LOL! So yeah...I am wearing a splint and tomorrow will have x-rays done. It hurts so bad!

Grammy- No gain, no loss is good in my book. LOL about your horse adventure though, I guess I am only laughing because I could picture you doing that. Cookies are good, but I am thankful they are not my downfall. Though I have other naughty treats that are.

Ready- Great job at the lose!! :carrot:

Rain- Glad to hear you're feeling better too!!

Retire- pasta anything is my downfall......I love it, but it loves me too much. LOL

Well I better get back to work! Have a great day!

healtheeme 10-20-2008 03:32 PM

Well, I lost a pound last week, just from being sick! Really, I had such a bad cough and sinus issue that I didn't count calories but wasn't really hungry. So for all that suffering, at least I "gained" a lost pound! I'm back to counting calories today.

Rain Dancer 10-21-2008 12:28 AM

Grammy, not gaining is good. :D I got a kick out of hearing about the horse.

Tinky, Owww! You poor thing. That had to hurt. I hope you heal fast.

Well, in spite of eating like ****e last week, I managed to lose three pounds. :D I think that exercise helped. Unfortunately I won't be able to rely on that for a good while. I murdered my baby toe on my right foot, this morning. Slammed it into the shower wall and it caught in the moulding and I heard a crunch. It went numb for a while and when the feeling returned... EeeeYowch! Now it is swollen and all black and blue underneath. I can walk on it, barefoot, if I am careful. But shoes and cardio are out of the question for a while.

I thought about seeing a doc, but they would just tape it, tell me to keep it elevated and rest it and take Advil for inflammation and discomfort. Which is what I am doing. :smug:

We are enjoying a lovely Indian Summer. Cool nights and days with temps in the mid to upper seventies. Talk about gorgeous. I am taking advantage of it and washing and hanging out extra laundry like blankets, duvets, sheets, afghans and so forth. Now everything is fresh, clean and fragrant. I love it when I slip into bed and it smells like sunshine and fresh air. :D

dgramie 10-21-2008 06:53 AM

OH RAIN- bless your heart. Your right though the dr cant do anything for it! Try to stay off it as much as possible.
Had a good day yesterday. Calories came in right on target. Water was perfect. I started jumping on the minitramp and my tooth started throbbing so guess i will have to wait until i get it fixed to exercise. I go to the dentist at noon tommorow. I need prayers as i have a PANIC disorder when it comes to the dentist.
hugs

retiredone 10-21-2008 07:34 AM

dgramie, hope your trip to the dentist will be uneventful, if you get my meaning. I have to get a crown on one of mine in the near future and have several more to get done. I'm sure you'll feel much better once everything is fixed up.

 to Tinky and Rain Dancer on their wounded parts. I feel your pain as I hurt my thumb 2 months ago and still have residual pain. Healtheeme, glad you're on the mend and back to counting.

GrammyL, 2 pounds is great. I don't often lose that much in a week.

I'm off to exercise now that breakfast is farther down the digestive tract. Have a good day.

GrammyL 10-21-2008 01:36 PM

Thanks retired one on the congrats. You are so close to goal it would be hard to lose that much. I am hoping to lose 2 lbs a week until the weight is off. That means I would be done with my journey mid April. It seems so far away but it didn't come on over night and it won't come off that way either. Besides, slow means I will be more likely to keep it off.

Tinky, ouch on the poor thumb. I have shut my three of my fingers in the sliding door of a van. They throbbed for a long time. We were on vacation on an island with no hospitals so I never had them checked but obviously they weren't broken. My ODD did manage to get into a nursing home and she loves it. She is working Midnights and of course you lose lots of patients on that shift and she lost her first one last week. She handled it well, I don't do well with that type of thing but she seems to be fine. Go figure, she is cold hearted. LOL!

Rain that is fantastic news about the loss but not the toe. OUCH! I have also done that a few times and no, they do nothing for any toe. I don't even bother to go when its toes. I think the toe that hurt the worse to break is the big toe. My Horse used to purposely step on my feet and twist while he walked away when he was made at me. Lets say at least twice he got me before I paid attention at all times when he was walking near me. He even broke my DH's nieces toe once. Big horse, big feet.

dgramie I feel for you and I hope they can get it fixed soon. I went for a cleaning today and told them the problems I was having with the dental work they did a few months ago and I felt like they blew me off. Got to work to see if what they did fixed the problem, nope, it didn't. So when I go in for my next filling, which I can't believe I need all these fillings, I am telling them it didn't work. I go numb in the dental chair like they are giving me laughing gas and I think its because when I was a kid they always gave it to me before the shots. I know its odd but I am odd.

Healtheme I hope you get feeling better. Seems as if there are lots of colds going around this year. Sure hope it isn't a sign of how bad the year is going to be.

Well I better get going and I will talk to you all later.

Something similiar happened to me this past summer. I stubbed my babytoe very hard on a peice of furniture and it was swollen and black and blue for a couple of weeks.
Luckily for me it was flip-flop weather outside so I could go barefoot until it healed.
I hope you get better asap.

I love laundry when it smells like that. Mmmmm.

canadianwoman 10-21-2008 02:04 PM

Well I saved a few calories today. I went to make a sandwich with my last two slices of gluten free bread and there were a lot of little red ants inside the bag all over the bread having a feast.
I noticed them after I had lightly buttered the bread because the ants are so tiny and my vision is not what it was.
Good thing I never made toast. LOL.

We have been plagued with these little ants all over the house this past summer. I have been spraying but I think I need some ant traps to get rid of them for good so they can carry the poison back to the queen.

GrammyL 10-22-2008 11:26 AM

Canadianwoman, another trick I have been told is cucumber peels. I guess they don't like them. I have never personally tried them before but they say if you find the place where they are getting it just lay a few at the entrance and they will leave. Yes, good thing you don't eat toast.

Tinky, have you ever tried the on plan crepes for our program. I just love them for a snack. They are easy and remind me of naughty stuff.

I was happy when I got on the scale this morning, 182. WHOHOO! I look forward to being out of the 180's possibly next week. I didn't do bad last weekend but I need to do even better this weekend if I want that to happen. Been using my bands for sculpting and I am noticing a difference in my arms already. WHOHOO! I used to hate using them but now I like them better than weights.

Crisp morning today. It was down in the mid 20's. I don't mind as long as there isn't a wind chill factor. It wakes me up and makes me feel alive. Also makes me move faster. LOL! It did seem odd to be mowing the lawn and seeing my breath while I was doing it last night but it needs done. I have to finish tonight.

Well I better get going for now and I will talk to you all later.

Bobbolink 10-22-2008 02:22 PM

Hi Girls!
I'm looking for Diva, she left the 3fc site while I was still posting on this calorie countings thread last year? I know she returned because she looked me up and we chatted. I don't see her on the Calorie Counters anymore, did she leave the site again or go to other threads on 3fc?

retiredone 10-22-2008 04:18 PM

There's a Diva that was in the Red Team Biggest Loser thread. She dropped out of the challenge but pops in every now and then. Don't know if it's the same Diva.

Bobbolink 10-22-2008 06:36 PM

Thanks Isabella, it's probably the same Diva. She had a close-up picture of her over her name, very beautiful with olive colored skin. I started going thru the Red team's sign up list but gave up after 6 pages. There are 66 pages, I looked for a Diva on the 3fc's and found about 8 Diva's with different #'s or name and I can't remember what she had behind hers. Next time she pops in, please tell her to look for me over at the granny's thread.

Denist yesterday couldnt do anything but start antibotics. I have infection around the tooth,so they are pulling it tommorow am.They may also have to pull the tooth behind it as it has infection in the gum around it also and its a wisdom tooth. I have never lost a tooth before and it kinda makes me sad. She said these things just happen at times.
I also went to my md yesterday and he was so HAPPY with my weight loss. I have been having some IBS issues and some other colon problems so for now i am off roughage and onto starchy carbs. fun fun..if things dont improve I will have to go to liquid for a few days. Im still trying to count calories and make the best choices i can make based on carbs.LOL
My dr did say after me losing over half the weight i need to lose we might need to adjust my calories down in a few weeks after my colon settles. He was saying to go down to 1300-1400 per day which would be a decrease of 100 per day. I dont know I guess i will see how my weight is after i get the tooth fixed and the colon straight.
hugs to all
