I'd like to set a goal of about 15 lbs, but I'll be happy with 10. I stepped on the scale the other day and it said 196, but that was in the evening, so I plan on seeing what I weigh in the morning and changing my ticker... THEN it's 10-15 lbs loss from THAT for my goal!
My MD weightloss goal is to lose 13#. March 19th I weighed 243 and this morning I weighed 239 - 4# gone. Yay! I was stuck at 242-243 for 2 weeks, so I'm very happy.
I was doing great on my elliptical until I got Turbo Jam. Now I want to do TJ every day instead. So, I'll be working on getting back on the elliptical at least 2-3 times a week.
Getting more protein in my diet is hit or miss, but at least I'm trying.
4/13 = 9# to go for my MD goal. Go, go, go!!
Congrats to everybody reporting losses. And to those struggling, keep going. Keep tryiing. You can do it!!

Wow, it's quiet here! Another pound gone today! My weight loss has slowed a lot since I started the weight training, so I've decided to quit with the "official" weigh in day, and just take it when I get it.
I've been staying on plan with my eating and workouts. We took a tour of the local YMCA on Friday, and it is really, really nice. We're definitely going to sign up.
It is pretty quiet! I'm in a chatty mood- I'll post!
I'm still 'blah'. The flu took my magic powers I think. I'm still staying on plan with food and exercising, I just don't have my energy back- it's been over a week since I was sick.
My plan of attack? Shopping! I'm going to get a nice heart rate monitor to reinspire my workouts and clothes a size or two smaller.
My MIL offered me her treadmill. I don't know that I want a huge piece of equipment like that, but with some rearranging of my home office it may not be so bad.
The 49 pounds I've lost so far aren't really that noticeable or awe inspiring, but my clothes are definitely a bit looser. I'm thinking a few new fly outfits that need a few weeks of heavy workouts to fit into may be great for workout inspiration. I have a TON of clothing in smaller sizes, but they're packed away in my creepy attic and even creepier basement (our house is an old Victorian that has unpleasant storage areas, I swear a skeleton wouldn't be out of place in our basement). That's a job for hubby. He's currently working 90 hours a week, so it may be awhile before I get him to unpacking.
I think the enormity of my weight loss task at hand has hit me as well, the honeymoon period of dieting is over. I still have quite a way to go- no quitting!
The Y sounds nice Cheryl! I'm torn between joining there or the gym my neighbors own. Both are within two blocks of my home. Our Y is always crowded, but my son loves the pool. The neighbors' gym is frequented by steroid guys- but includes personal training.
So I really want to be at 190-195 for that weekend. Don't know if that's possible. Yesterday, my official weigh in day I was the same (210), this morning I was 208 and this afternoon I'm 206-207 BUT I'm also now sick and having some not so fun issues to deal with. Didn't work out today and if i don't feel too well tomorrow I'm skipping too buuut tomorrow is upper body weights so i should be able to do it even if I'm still sick. Sorry I've only posted once before. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well! Congrats!

FB, you should look at both of them again, and see which one feels most comfortable. The steroid guys are probably friendlier than they look, and it can't hurt to have friends like that! The Y usually has kid memberships, if your son is old enough to go on his own, then you could join the gym for yourself, if you like it better. Anyway, good luck with that! (ps, I'd personally go for the treadmill, but I'm addicted to running, so I'm probably biased...also, I'd very likely put the dogs on it to wear them out when the weather is like it is today, raining sideways!)
Maggie, you just never know, so go for it! Good luck with your goal!
Down another lb. My mother's day goal maybe a bit high but I'm still keeping it the same. It will push me to stay on track but I won't be heart broken if I don't make it. Any amount lost is a victory
I am readjusting my calorie ranges right now, so I am trying to give myself some time before weighing. I will weigh in on Friday and let everyone know how I am doing. I got my first notice on Friday! My very fit co-worker told me I look like I am getting skinnier. It was nice to hear! LOL. Keep up the good work everyone!
Hey gals, I haven't posted for a while so I thought I'd check in to simply report being on track... I'd mention weight if it weren't for the fact that I haven't weighed myself for a while, and am going to try to keep from weighing myself as long as I can. (I found that I was getting obsessive recently)
Irish..I have been thinking about you and wondering when is idol? Good luck at it and know we are all rooting for you!!I know you are going to look awesome and sound wonderful!!
We are getting to be quite a crowd here, and I think that's great. I was away and internet-less for a few days () While I did read through all the posts ( Cheryl), there's no way I could keep track of all the new 'enrollments' and all the pounds being shed. So I'm going to offer a global pat on the back, instead:
Setting a goal is so important in any process of 'getting there'...after all, if we don't set goals, how do we know where we want to go, and measure any progress? We may not all reach our short-term goals, but from what I've read, we're all headed in the right direction. So, I offer up a to all.
As for myself, some emotional issues got me off-track briefly and I had two horribly off-programme days, and one very off-program day while at the cottage. I stepped on the scales this morning and had stayed the same. I am now back on track and consider this one a 'freebie'. I do not plan on tempting fate in this manner again anytime soon.
Irish- your hair is totally cute! Layri- I know scale obsession, all too well. Ugh. Blue- Yay! A notice! I bet it feels wonderful! Switzie- you're right- any weight loss is a victory. I'm going into this challenge with the same mindset. While I may not lose the 20 pounds, I'll be closer than I was at the start. Jam- The steroid guys are all very nice people, although they're really into steroids. I don't care about that, as I know it won't start a steroid habit for me, I just worry about how out of place I'll feel in the midst of all that testosterone buffness. I'm leaning towards that gym though because it doesn't require a contract, my neighbors are super nice people who will hook me up and it's very intimate versus the Y. The guys are cute too
ETA: Ti'an- you posted while I was, don't want to leave you out! It's incredibly fortunate you didn't fall far off track weight wise- I know that can add insult to injury and is discouraging. Good for getting back on track and staying there! I hope all the emotional issues are worked out and that you're feeling better.
