Well I haven't been here since last YEAR I'm ashamed to say but I'm back!!! I started 2 days ago and am using fitday to keep track plus going by my WW book from 2 yrs ago to keep myself in check. I can't remember how to figure how many calories I should be taking in a day. Oh, well guess I can figure it out. I'll have to figure out how to change my ticker too cuz I put back on some of what I lost.
I'm going to make my goal to lose at least 5 pounds this month if not more and I AM going to stick to this. I am soooo tired of being overweight and going up and down. I REFUSE to buy another stitch of clothes until I lose at least 20 lbs-well maybe underwear-that could be dangerous if I lost 20 and wore the same size huh?!!! LOL!
Well gotta go. Nice popping in again on this thread. It helps alot knowing there are other people in the same boat.
Take care. Dawn

I am new here too. I have been calorie counting for a while, but I decided today that I am not being consistent enough, and I am also not being honest enough, because the weight it just not budging. I am doing a 1200 count, with added cals when I exercise, so it usually ends up around 1400ish.

my new goals are to:

track everything eaten!
drink a lot of water!
exercise in some way ever day!

Hello everyone...I see that I am not the only new person here, and that there are a few veterans on hand also. Good luck to us all!

I am ashamed to say that I just moved my current weight ticker from 167 to 187 - that's what happened when I didn't log into 3FC for 1 entire year! I had success losing weight before on my own, counting calories and exercising, and posting regularly to the forums. Over the last year I have gradually gained the weight back by not doing any of the former....but now things are going to change. FitDay is my new BFF and I am a calorie countin' queen!

I already added my exercise back about 6 weeks ago, so now it's time to take care of the food. I will be posting regulary, as I really need focus and direction. Tomorrow is my big DAY ONE. It feels good to be back! I look forwad to getting to know all of you better.

back everyone who's been away, and

all you newcomers.

Had a good week this week past here, down another lb. Still not doing well on my exercise. Got in a walk last week, but no lifting. Really need to do a better job on that. Other than that, still not feeling this loss quite yet. Perhaps another few lbs and it will start to feel for me.

Hey everybody, nothing new going on with me except that I have a irritating eye twitch, what's up with that? Does this mean I'm about to come into some big money or something? lol

wish4fit, sorry to read you regained some of your weight but it's like that right, we just have to keep hopping back on the wagon until we finally get it right.

blues4miles way to go on losing another pound, you will be feeling it soon especially in your cloths.

Piper129 welcome!

Shy Moment, that cracked me up about your kids....I wouldn't know since I don't have kids yet. Although I'm in the process of adoption, don't give me second thoughts! *jk*

I believe the eye twitching just an reaction to allergies, since it has come along with watery eyes and sneezing. However, if the twitching sticks around I'll go see my doc.

Hi guys! I am not sure if you even remember me but I used to post here everday! Well, life got really hectic and I ended up gaining a lot of the weight I had lost back. Why is life so stressful?

Well, I would like to start posting here and again and I will start by yesterdays numbers:

1,294 calories consumed
615 calories burned

Kimmie - Thanks for the support.

Shy Moment - I did look at the 21 day challenge thread - AWESOME!! I don't know how I'd skipped over it so many times....?

So....this is unbelievable, but the day after I posted my FIRST message and had my FIRST day behind me, I got a dreadful phone call. My dad was on his near-death bed and I had to rush to my hometown of Salt Lake City to be with him. I have spent the last 6 days in the Intensive Care waiting room. Luckily, we think he is going to make it.

Somehow I did manage to count my Day 1 and Day 2 calories - 1380 and 1320. Since then it's been a blur of Subway sandwiches and salad bars. I've tried not to allow the stress get to me and over eat, but I admit to having a few vending machine sweets in the waiting room...

The good news is - I'm still here. All hope is not lost. I have a few more weeks to look after my dad, but my parents house is now stocked with healthy food, so maybe this can be managable....

Hope everyone is on track and staying fit! Good luck to all!!

Default Since all the newbies are introducing themselves....

...I should join in too.

While I have always kept track of my food on fitday and, more recently, Calorie King (purchased version), I recently discovered that every calorie-needs calculator has me needing about 1000 calories than I really need to lose weight. I went to my doc finally, who is becoming certified as a bariatric specialist, and we tweeked things together only to find I am good in the 1200-1500 range. So, since working with her for the past 2 weeks, I have lost 11 pounds -- this after so many months of plateaus and small losses, followed by small gains. I am realizing how effective dedicated calorie counting at a count right for me is turning out to be.

I am also motivated by this particular forum because it seems that the calorie counters have a great deal of success. I need to see success right now.

Thanks for being here,
KFF

Hi Everyone,

I've been at 3FC for about a week but was looking for a forum to call home and trying to decide if I wanted to stick with low cal / high fiber or not as I've been doing it successfully a few days a week for a past few weeks. The thing for me is, I've been yo-yoing so much for over a year now and I need to work on my commitment before I even think about my weight. So I've decided this is going to be my home base.

My goal for October is to make a beaded necklace....LOL....no I'm serious. I need to work on stringing together successful hours into days and eventually days into weeks. (Like beads on a necklace, get it? Sorry I know it's hokey but I'm very visual in my thinking so these things help me)

My goal for the remainder of October is to stay within my limit of 12-1350 for cals, 35+ for fiber and SOME form of daily exercise from now until the end of the month. At this point even if it's extra house work or stacking wood that's fine.

After I'm stringing together weeks THEN I'll start thinking about my weight and hopefully in the meantime some of it will have come off and my faith in dieting will be at least somewhat restored. At the moment the above mentioned faith is so low I've chosen to focus on something other than the weight loss for the moment, because it just depresses me more than anything and makes me head for the tub of ice cream!

Good luck to everyone with your goals this week and I look forward to getting to know all of you better!

Cathy

Hi ladies. It's been real hectic for me so I haven't posted. I live in SoCal and while I personally wasn't evacuated, I didn't have work Monday/Tuesday and it's been a very weird week. However, other than that I'm doing well. I am down another pound and eating well, but hardly moving at all due to being couped up in the home for several days. Anyways, hope everyone else is doing well!
