WOAH!!! OH2007 - where are you getting your fibre from????
|
I have really been in the dumps this week with TOM plus lots of stress at work. I think (hope!) TOM is leaving (I never know, sometimes it lingers for 2 weeks) but at least my latest stress with work is finished (big presentation).
I just bought a plane ticket to go see my mom and attend a family wedding. I haven't been out there since 1999...I weigh 22 pounds more than I weighed back then. Not looking forward to the trip mainly because of my weight. Now isn't that ridiculous! Last time I was out there, my mom introduced me to someone she works with by saying, "this is my youngest daughter, the fat one". 8 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday and here I am 22 pounds heavier. So, I have 25 days until I leave. Ugh!! Grammy - you are doing so well! WTG! I'm inspired! |

Tinky ~ Lets say that I have noticed that what ever you set your mind to, you do. So I am sure you will achieve your goal of being good on your vacation. Your one tough lady! Brightside ~ I am perimentapausal and I think your lucky. I now have mine two weeks off and one week on. Lucky me. I am so sorry, that is a sad story. Everytime I hear something like that it just reminds me how cruel the world is. My Dad is the same way and I get after DH also. I let my weight hold me back on lost of things also and can understand your feelings. I felt that way about taking my vacation this year because going to the beach was part of it. Yup, but I found a way around putting a suit on. My will to lose the weight comes and goes Brightside. Unfortunately years of dieting has really messed my system up and now it takes a lot of effort to lose. Right now I am at a stand still but I am positive because I am putting on muscle with the jogging and all that I am doing. The inches was proof of that but I was also brave enough to look in the mirror and noticed that my rear is getting round, tummy is pulling up and in, arms are getting flabby but in a good way because the skin is going flat and hopefully firms up, my legs muscles are getting smaller and defined which I can't image them getting any smaller or I will have chicken legs. Well I am off and I think I might do a project that allows me to stand up so I can dance little a little behind the filing cabinet I work at. HAHAHAH! Check back in a while. |

GrammyL- Thank you for the words of encouragement. I'm just asking for a little will power to keep me from going off on my boss, and really letting her know how I really feel about her! Hence why I need to behave until vacation time! LOL! After I come back I will more than likely either transfer departments and pick up something that is part time. I'm a pretty patient person, but it does wear thin.
Well I survived the 1st family party for DF, I'm not sure how many calories I consumed, but I do know that I left the rest of my calories to eat, and I left alot of calories. LOL! Well.....good night everyone, and have a great weekend!! |
So yesterday's calories were pretty high... actually my highest in a long long time.
So I weighed in this morning at 146.4 and decided to start the South Beach Diet. I need some structure since I have been slacking soooo bad! Off to go make lunch :) |
Not sure what Friday was because we ate out. My weight was down again this morning, though, so it couldn't have been too bad. :)
Saturday: Total: 1375 Fat: 36g, 25% Carbs: 235g, 56% Protein: 65g, 20% Fiber: 51g |
Hello my fellow losers! :)
For today: 1402 calories 14% fat 20 grams of fiber My weight has really been fluctuating lately and it's SO discouraging. Every time I get below 200, it seems like I spike back up the next day. I drank TONS of water today, so hopefully that will be helpful. |
EEk I need to start drinking more water.. its so easy NOT to, I have never been a big drinker in the first place. Its hard to replace soda and juice if you never drank them, you know? I remember when I was little I used to drink from those little paper cups, and I would have to give my friends big glasses when they came over because if I gave them the little cups I would have to refill them 3-4 times. I was totally satisfied with just a little bit, I never get thirsty! We even have a poland water dispenser so its not like its sink water or anything. booo :(

week totals
calories 1364 fat 35g 24% carbs 198g 50% protein 60g 18% fiber 31g Well, yesterday was an all time high for calories...almost 2500 calories:nono: My DH and I had the evening to ourselves so we decided to go out. We went bowling, out to eat and then met up with some friends. By the time the evening was over I had downed 10 miller lites. I just hope I don't pay for it when I weigh in tomorrow. :( This week starts my busy fall/winter season. DD has her first day of preschool, tomorrow, she's so excited. Then we have gymnastics in the evening. Between DD, DH and I, I don't think theres a day that we don't have something extra going on. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when DD is in HS or when we have another kid. But anyways, I should go get my errands run before DD comes home from the movies. Everyone have a great week. Bridgette.:flow1::flow1: |
Hello all.
Today's stats were 1055 calories with 28% fat and 10 little grams of fiber. I drank lots and lots of water today and plan on skipping the scale tomorrow just because I think I am getting too caught up in numbers. Classes until 9 pm tomorrow but I hope to have the energy to make it to the rec afterwards to do at least 40 minutes of cardio and some lifting. Fingers crossed that I actually make it there! |
Hi,
TGI-Monday! Gee, never thought I'd hear myself say that! Went to a party on Friday night, hungry & stressed and made poor choices. The food was all appetizers - mostly fried Indian things (yummy!) and then mexican chips/dips. I should've eaten before I went. Combine that with a few tropical rum drinks and it really started the weekend off on the wrong foot. Saturday was too much snacking on sweets, but went out to dinner and just had a small salad (hooray, small victory). Yesterday was another party but I made better choices and proved to myself that I can do it! Today I started back journaling my food on Fitday and also set the alarm for 5:00am and walked a couple of miles on the treadmill. I will still take the dog for a walk later today. Just wanted to get the week started off on the right foot! A new week, a new chance for success! |
Hi,
Today i am trying to make a new start and commitment to counting my calories and staying within my goal. I want to try to make it between 1600-1800 since i am over 200 pounds. I don't want to start to low. I need to lose this weight for my health. I want to feel and look better. Hoping we can all stay on target today. |
Hello everyone,
I hope you have room for one more. I am committing myself to counting calories to lose the 20 lbs that I would like to lose. I have tried everyone and I have decided counting calories is the way to go. My weight goes up and down so much that I have decided I just need to stay on track. I do exericse ( which is the easy part for me) so I really need to work on my eatting. Have a great day bev |
Hey ladies!
I just got back from Toronto for a wedding (gone 4 days) and it was a total free for all with eating for me. I can't believe how quickly I went into piggy mode after 5 months of restricting calories. I was up 8 pounds the first night back, but lost some bloat and it looks like the damage is closer to 4 pounds. I will be back on track all week and hopefully get back to where I was quickly. |
Good Evening everyone!!! Well, it's been quite a weekend. DF's Birthday celebration have been great fun. We had his aunt's birthday celebration for him n Friday, then dinner with the IL's yesterday, today I cooked his favorite, seafood linguine, (whole wheat pasta for moi) regular linguine for the boys. I did have a tiny piece of Ice Cream cake. Yummy! Tomorrow( his actual Birthday) his cousin is taking us to a pretty pricey downtown eatery. So I gotta get through one more. I've been pretty good at keeping my calories at bay. TOM is here and I definitely feel it. I have no desire, or drive to exercise! I'm always crampy! Ugh! I'm bloated as a whale! Grrr! LOL! Well have a great one everyone! I'll talk to you tomorrow! Good night!

Walked 4 miles yesterday - half on the treadmill at 5am, half with the dog after dinner. Back at it again this morning. Scale was up this morning but hopefully it's just from yesterday's salty snacks (popcorn). Last night I made whole grain pasta with Trader Joe's marinara sauce (added ground turkey). Everyone had a salad on the side but I put mine on 3 cups of shredded raw spinach. My dh thought I was crazy but boy was it good and filling. Right after, the kids & I took the dog for a walk (they rode their bikes). Got back and didn't raid the 'fridge looking for dessert. Just went upstairs to get ready for bed. Skipping dessert/late night snacking is a huge NSV!
Even though I'm tired (going to bed too late, waking up too early) I'm happy that I've bumped up my exercising! Small steps! G |
Zoe ~ I am sure the weight is just a temporary thing and it will come right back off. I understand totally what you went thru because I have had it happen to me before.
Bev ~ Welcome and look forward to getting to know you. This is a wonderful group and lots of fun. RocknRoll ~ Good luck with the South Beach, its a nice program. I did it as a stepping stone to calorie counting. I really liked the program but was looking for more freedom, the opposite of what your looking for. Now, I am back on a very structured program because like you I found the freedom was to much. Brightside ~ Great job! One day at a time one step at a time. Between the popcorn and spaghetti sauce (unless it was a lower sodium version) I am sure that was all it was, bloat. I really watch spaghetti sauces because they have a lot of sodium in them and ingredients that sometimes are undesirable to me like high fructose corn syrup. Well I didn’t lose much last week but only a pound but it was a wonderful pound because it put me at my August goal. I lost 5 inches off my body and I am starting to see a new body emerging. I have put on muscles, my jaw line is starting to show, my rear is lifting, upper body is becoming more defined and my tummy is going down at the top so my boobs have nothing to sit on. I just want that lower tummy to start going down. Curves works the lower abs but I am going to start working them more and see if that helps. This is my preholiday weight so I am not as excited as I expected I would be I don't know if its because I have already been here, if was expecting more or because I am tired from lack of sleep. 6 more pounds I will be back to where I was at my lowest weight and then it will be all kinds of happy dances. Well work is calling and I will talk at you all later. |
Counters: I'm back. I've been wandering in the wilderness for about a month. The stressful part of my life is over, and I'm trying to get back on the calorie-counting horse again. Yesterday: 1419, 31F/51C/18P with 16 fiber (ack!). I seem to have lost my motivation, but I'm trying to regain it for a short-term goal of looking hot on November 5th.

Hahahahaha, this TOM is making me nuts!
Today I've had Breakfast: mini pecan sticky bun, orange, and black tea Snack: 1 oz Jalapeno Kettle Potato Chips, banana, hot cocoa with a drip of coffee ( I swear it tastes so much better like this!) Lunch: a bite of cornbread, some homemade chicken noodle soup, and a mini thing of banana layered pudding (less than half a cup) Snack: Some seafood stew(basically leftover pasta sauce from last night) with whole wheat bread, and two breadsticks Dinner: haven't decided yet probably more of the seafood sauce that i have, with some broccoli Exercise today: 60 mins on the Elliptical machine. My calories aren't too bad, but all that snacking didn't make me feel too good later, at the time it felt like heaven. Looking at what I had it isn't too bad, I was just shocked by how I ate! LOL! Well....praying I make it through the next few days! We also have that darn yummy fudge chocolate cake. This is the only time that I really really want chocolate too! Oh food gods, give me strength! LOL!:dizzy: |
Yesterday: 1551, 25F/55C/20P
I am still searching for a way to regain my momentum... Anyone want to kick me in the pants? |

Queenjane ~ Watch out here it comes. I won't even charge you the dollar, this one is on the house. HAHAHAHA!
|
Tinky ~ That happens. I sometimes eat things and then later don't feel the greatest because of it. I use to sometimes add a little unsweetened cocoa powder to oatmeal with a little splenda to take care of chocolate cravings. Just a thought.
QueenJane ~ I always say that motivation is a 100% of my problem. Right now I am feeling great and seeing the scale move in the right direction so the exercise, eating and water are easy. The hard part is when I hit a plateau and having to stay true to my program when I am not seeing results. It is always hard getting restarted but sometimes you just have to tell yourself, its not an option, I have to do it. I really wanted to stay with calorie counting only and not go back to the strict program that I know works, which I still count the calories, but I threatened myself if I wasn't down to a certain weight by a certain date that I was restarting. I stuck to my word and I am glad I did. Just 7 more pounds and I will be at an all time low in about 10 years. You will thank yourself in the end. Quiet around here but I will stop back later. |
Yesterday: 1260 24F/58C/18P 21 fiber (yay!)
Scale was down today AND even though I had lunch out with a friend today, I still went to the gym and did my weight workout before. Just have to get some cardio in tonight and I got a new exercise DVD in the Netflix yesterday so that should be easy (if I can move all the matchbox cars off the living room floor! hahahaha!) I consider my butt to have been kicked, Lara! |
Yesterday: 1466 30F/50C/20P 26 fiber (yay!)
I did the new DVD last night, too. Maybe my motivation is back? |
