Queenjane ~ Welcome back and I know how that feels. When I am gone, there is no one to cover my job so when I came back from vacation I had some long hours. Tinky ~ Good job on the exercise and I hear you that I am glad this week is over. By the way I have been counting the calories that i consume on the 6WBMO and most days I am only consuming around 1000 calories. Just a heads up. You do get more if you exercise. It always amazes me that the calories are that low because I rarely get hungry. Usually when I do get hungry is because I exercised and didn't do a preworkout meal which is a little more calories to support your workout. I was kinda bummed because the rapid weight loss has ended and now I will start the slower loss. If I stay true to the program, my experience in the past, is I lose about 1/2 lb a day which is nothing to sneeze at but that is only if I follow it. I am determined to stay true to it so I can get this done and over with. Another bonus to this program is less trash. Really, we only had two bags of trash this week instead of 4 to 7. I forgot that fresh foods require less packaging. Last night I made Chicken Chili for dinner. It was so good and I thought there would be lots of leftovers and there is probably only about 1 1/2 servings left. I switched from ground beef to chicken about a year ago when making chili and now I can't stand the taste of regular chili and obviously my family prefers this version because the last batch of beef chili I made I had over half the pan left. Well I better get going, I only work a 1/2 day today. |
I FINALLY BROKE THE 20 POUND MARK!! :carrot:
After weeks of gaining and losing the same two pounds I finally broke the plateau! It feels great because I have been eating fruits, veggies, cheerios, and lean protein :) I just felt like I needed to shout it out somewhere! I would tell my mom but shes still in bed because of her surgery. Yesterdays Information fat- 16% carbs- 53% protein- 31% happy friday everyone |
Congrats, RocknRoll!
Thursday: Total: 1342 Fat: 33g, 24% Carbs: 207g, 48% Protein: 86g, 28% Fiber: 60g |
GrammyL- I probably will really look into it more (6WBO) after my Vacation in Sept. I did the pre test thing and it said I was a C. I need to go buy a new sports bra today, if I'm going to work out at all. LOL Working out in a regular bra is NO fun and it feels s weird!
RockNRoll- Congrats girl! I knew you could break your plateau. Keep up the good work! Oh2007- I'm amazed by your fiber intake!! Awesome job!! Yay the weekend is finally here. I had one hellish Friday. Don't need to go into details, but ugh! LOL! So DF and I indulged in eating at a buffet last night, I didn't go too crazy, but I do have sodium bloat and gain. I'm going to cook some oatmeal in a few. The good thing about me going off track is that I get back on it fast, so I'll be fine. I hope! LOL! Have a great weekend everyone!! |
Friday sucked. I have no clue about the fats/carbs/protein ratio because we went out to eat again. Total cals were around 2100-2200, though. I don't mind splurging once a week or so on cals but I ate mindlessly. That's not cool. Bleh.
|
gratz Rocknroll!!!!!!
Grammy, I've been meaning to try out a white chili recipe. It sounds yummy. I'll leave out the cheese rolls this time. LOL which recipe do you use? I'd love to try one thats already had the stamp of approval. I'm still having a heck of a time cutting back on cals, giving in to one more slice or one more serving, etc. I am thoroughly enjoying my basket of size 12 clothes now. And tonight I am making a trip to Target to update my stash of underwear. if I got in a car accident I wouldn't want to be caught in these huge granny panties I have going on. ;) They are so big on me now they were shrooming out the top of my pants for all to see. eeeeeww! LOL |
LOL Coolmom....the horror, of getting caught with granny panties! I wouldn't want that either. I know the feeling with the underwear thing...my friend said that I was parachuting. :o
I went to Nordstrom to get fitted, and walked away with two bras and a panty..I spent 200 dollars, though I might return one because, I need to watch my spending! LOL! Well I found out that I'm a 38DD! Wow, they were a bit bigger before I started, but dang......I wonder how much bigger! LOL! |
Thanks guys :)
Yesterday's Data: Fat: 16.7% Carbs: 55.6% Protein: 27.7 % Tinky- wow 200? I go to Victoria's Secret and think thats a splurge :p |
avg for the week:
calories 1343 fat 39g 26% carbs 204g 54% protein 64g 19% fiber 26 RocknRoll: Congrats on the 20lbs. CoolMom75: white chili does sound really good. I've had it at Ruby Tuesdays but never made it at home...I'd be interested in GrammyL's recipe too. I know what you mean about one more slice or serving... I usually am pretty good.. but last night wasn't one of them.. We decided to make pizzas using pita bread.. I told my DH to pick up what he wanted for his pizza along with a bag of salad...well he came home with a fresh loaf of french bread. I had a small salad and about 3 or 4 slices of bread...I didn't have room for the veggie pizza i was going to make and boy did I feel miserably bloated after that :( Tinky009: what kind of bras did you get? I bought a couple of bras from Dillards(kinda like Nordstroms or Macys), my DH about flipped out when I spent 68 dollars on a Le Mystere bra. Unfortunately, I too wear a size 38DD and find it hard to find a supportive bra that keeps the girls where they're supposed to be. I figure I'd rather find an expensive bra that works for me than buy 5 cheap ones that I'm not happy with. This last week has been a busy one and it doesn't look like this week is going to be much better. I ran around getting DD signed up for all her fall activities. I'm trying to figure out if there's going to be a day during the week that we don't have something going on. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when she's older :dizzy:. Today and tomorrow are going to be difficult we have a visitation/funeral for a 23 yo friend of the family. It seems so wrong to have someone that young taken away from us, she had so many things yet to experience. But maybe it's a sign to appreciate what we have today, because we really don't know how long we'll be around to enjoy it. Anyways....keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. Bridgette.:flow1: |
Bridgette...we make home made pizza with a partially whole wheat crust and low cal, home made sauce every Friday night. They are so good. But its easy to over do it with one more slice. ugh! I try and avoid it by only making the bare minimum for the dinner and the next days lunch.
Sorry about the loss of your friend. :( |
Tinky I've been meaning to go to Kohls and find this Wonderbra Ive been hearing I must have. Supposedly they go up to a 38D, not sure about the double and its a 20 something dollar bra.
by the time I'm back to my goal weight and finished nursing three kids up to age three each, my boobs will be tiny sacks of empty skin. Its okay. I can probably fold them a couple times to fill a B cup. :D |
Hi, I'm back from vacation! I really have to say thanks for all the help/advice offered for my loooong car trip (12 hrs). Changing my mindset from trying-to-lose to trying-to-maintain was a big deal for me. It took some of the pressure off. I really didn't want to "manually" count calories on vacation plus didn't have internet access so I couldn't use fitday either.
In any case, it was a great week. The car ride went really, really well. I ate loads of fruit (cherries, apricots & plums) and for a treat I had garlic herb laughing cow lite cheese on whole wheat crackers. When we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast, I had a small yogurt parfait. At the cheese factory, I allowed myself 2 cubes of cheese. I felt so great when we arrived...I had been successful! As for the rest of the week - I stuck to my usual breakfasts, either whole wheat english muffin w/peanut butter & honey or 1 packet of oatmeal w/walnuts & blueberries. For lunch I made quesadilla's several times using whole wheat tortillas. For the kids I used shredded cheese and turkey. For myself I used a tbsp. of strong parmesan cheese with a huge handfull of fresh spinach. YUM! We ate out a few times and I made good choices. Snacking I stuck to popcorn & fruit. It was tough not being near a grocery store - the closest is 30+ minutes away. We walked lots - at least 2 miles every day and sometimes 4 miles. The weather was great but we came home 1 day early because it was supposed to rain all day yesterday (drove through 8 hours worth of rain-ugh!). So, I was nervous when I stepped on the scale this morning...official weigh-in isn't until Tuesday. But, good news, I weigh exactly what I weighed when I left! I am thrilled!!! Today I'm back to logging my calories. Hope to make my August goal! |
Bridgette- I'm sorry for your loss as well.
I never bothered to look at the brand, it's Chantelle, I decided they're all going to go back. I figured out by budget and wasn't really suppose to spend that much. DF's birthday is coming up, and I could put that 200 to something more meaningful. So I will probably go get a decent bra until I could afford to spend...which probably will be in Sept. LOL I have heard of Dillards, I used to live in Albuquerque, and that was our "high end" dept store. I kinda miss it, but wouldn't trade anything in the world for Nordstrom's! CoolMom- You know I've been hearing such great things about Kohl's I remember when they first opened when I was living in CA, and they were like only a tiny step above Mervyn's. That's cool that carry the Wonderbra. LOL about the folding.... RockNRoll- I was surprised myself about the amount, but was caught in the moment when I was at Nordstrom. They have such a great service you can't help but get caught. LOL! One last thing about the bras, DF was said it better be worth it or have gold sewn into it. LOL Men, they will never understand! LOL Well off to return my purchase! Sniffle! |
GOOD NEWS! I lost 7.8 lbs last week. I am sure almost all is bloat and probably a few pounds of fat but I will take it.
Well my weekend stunk to say the least. Saturday was excellent and I ate on plan but Sunday, we had the flu. Mine started on Saturday with the back door trots and then early Sunday morning my tummy started acting up but never actually lost my cookies. I just wanted to lay around all day but we had DGS, our source of the flu, and he was feeling better and up terrorizing everything. DH was about 4 hrs behind me on symptoms and was kind of calling be of baby and told me I needed to help out with DGS more because he didn’t feel good either. Well I think about the time it was time to go to bed he was where I was in the afternoon because all he wanted to do is lay down. He will never admit anything but I wanted to say, there now you know how it feels. By the time he hit his worst I was recovering. I drank some Vernors (this may be a Michigan pop, it has ginger in it) and I was much better. So I ate very little yesterday, about 500 calories if I was lucky. RocknRoll ~ CONGRATS! Plateaus are always hard for me to handle because you work so hard and just don’t go anywhere. Good job on staying with it until you jumped over the stall. Tinky ~ I wish I could help you with the C body type but I am an A. I lost all my cards that tell be about the other body types by sharing. Foods are always similar but I think you would get more meat than I do and would eat different things at different times. I also have to get some new bras because mine are just worn out and when I jog my boobs work out more than the rest of me. HAHAHAHA! Black eye syndrome. HAHAHA! The bloat will go away, just give it time. Diane ~ Just brush yourself off and let it go. If you beat yourself up to much it may have ill effects on your attitude. I know I have to beat myself up a little and then let it go so I can do better the next day. Zoe ~ Mine is still a red chili, I just used cut up chicken instead of ground beef. It does have a different flavor than the beef and it is so yummy and healthy. I have always wanted to try a white chicken chili but never have. Your are to funny about the panties. HAHAHA! I am looking forward to buying smaller myself and not the granny panties. Right now I have elephant (saggy butt) butt syndrome and DH makes fun of me. Bridgette ~ Sorry for your loss, that would be hard. Its true we don’t always take the time to appreciate what we have in life. I try every day to thank the Lord for what I have because even though I complain there are others worse off and at least I am here. We make pizza’s using Light Flatouts. That way we each get what we want and I can control what goes on mine. Zoe ~ HAHAHA! That is too funny about folding your boobs to make a B cup. I think just my skin alone I will stay a D. It’s my own fault from letting myself get so big because those are one of the first things to go up in size. Brightside ~ Good job at maintaining, it is hard to do when your on vacation. Tinky ~ No, men will never understand and the were probably the ones that created them. HAHAHAHA! |
Here is the recipe:
chicken cut in 1-inch cubes or size you like Pinto Beans 1 can diced no salt tomatoes Fresh mushrooms, sliced Bell peppers, chopped Onion, chopped Chicken Stock Seasoning: Cumin Chili Powder Garlic Powder None of this is an exact science, I am a taster. Also, everyone has his or her own expectations of the dish. Some like it thick, some like it thin, others like lots of beans or some like lots of meat. You can adjust this to what ever your family likes. I cut the chicken up and fry it in the pot with cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion and bell pepper. After it starts to brown a little I add the mushrooms. When they turn a light brown I add the tomatoes, pinto beans and chicken stock. I add enough chicken stock to make it the consistency you’re looking for. Then I taste to see what additional seasoning it needs and test off and on for about a ½. I like to use leftovers for baked potatoes. YUMMO! |
Sounds easy Lara. You use the canned beans then? I'll have to try it out. Thanks for sharing.
|
Zoe ~ Yes, I buy a big jar of them and then rise them. I don't use the whole jar just what we want and store the rest in the fridge until I need them next.
Today for lunch I am having turkey taco salad. It is so yummy. I make my own season mix (no salt) so it works for my program. I took some of my leftover turkey from last week, cut up some different colored bell peppers, onions and mushrooms (odd I know) and then cooked them up in a nonstick frying pan (no oil). Then I just put it on a bed of lettuce, no dressing needed because the turkey and veggies are seasoned well. It is so yummy! For my carb I have a 1/2 c oatmeal w/cinnamon. This is one of my favorite meals on this program for lunch. Well have to go and will check back later. |
Hey all thought I would throw a quick post in, since I started working at starbucks I am TIRED. Its good for me to be moving more and I am really enjoying it, gets me out of the house more, homeschooling means not much me time lol. I am stalled out big time and I am sure its all my fault! I have been bad with calories (1700-1800 range all the time) and eating too much wheat. If I am off it for a while its ok but once I give in I get all kinds of cravings and I THINK I am hungry all the time, even though I think its just the improper digestion sending me odd signals. Need to clean out my system man!
Catching up somewhat, mmm chicken turkey sounds good! do you use ground chicken or cube it? I made turkey chili the other day and it was nummy! Tinky, yep I need new bra's and undies, I have one bra I am literally swimming in feels funny! So hard though to spend money when all I want to do is lose weight, I finally understand why you sometimes will see people who have lost a lot and are still wearing clothes they swim in! Ooops hubby needs me to come get him, gotta run bye! |
hey all,
Been super busy lately I have to drive 5 hours tomorrow for my husband to go for an interview...the interview isn't until thursday but we are going down a day early to be sure he is on time. then friday I am going to a festival they have here in ontario called the exhibition. lots of bad food L( ick. I am trying to get everything ready for our trip...a trip with a 7 month old is a lot of work. I have been doing good on my calories and hoping to lose at least a pound this week...been doing lots of walking so we will have to see. |
Edzard ~ I do both but usually I just cube it up myself. I am go for the good ground turkey which can be a bit pricey but the cheaper stuff has so much fat. Plus, my DH likes chunks of meat, you know the manly thing. HAHAHAHA!
Irishfairy ~ Sounds like fun but hard to avoid the temptations but you always do a great job. Still not a 100% today on the way I feel but I am getting there. I keep having bouts of unsettled tummy. I think the flu thing is still hanging around or its the meds I am taking for my mouth pain from the wisdom teeth. I am still following my plan, it seems so easy during the week. My biggest challenge is weekends but since I was sick and we were broke last weekend was easy. Hopefully I will do equally as well this weekend. Well I better get going and I will pop in later. |
I know some people think its bad but I have been weighing myself everyday (for research purposes) and it seems like I am finally heading in the right direction. After many ups and downs I am finally seeing some real downward progress, lets just hope it sticks and my week goes well. Its interesting to track everyday you weight and see that the highs don't go quite so high and the lows creep down just a little bit more lol. I got 187.5 this morning so I am basically finally at my Labor Day goal!! Unfortunatley I have almost been there a long time:( so my Sept. 1st goal that I set at the beginning of August might not happen ( I think I said 182 for that) oh well.
Irishfairy, good luck with the job interview, and now that my eating has changed over the years those fairs just don't even hold anything appetizing for me much anymore, except maybe a gyro and sometimes carmel apple and those are not as bad as some of the stuff I have heard of there. GrammyL I feel your pain, weekends (including fridays) are bad! I am gonna try to save about 1000 calories or more for friday night, its our 11 year anniversary! Yeah!! We are gonna go out for some Mediterannian at a place called Med Kitchen. I already know what I want cause we only go a few times a year. Lamb Kabobs with safron rice and hummus, they start you with Lentil soup and finish with Turkish coffee, not anything bad for you but their pita bread (wheat ugh!) is awesome and hard to resist and I might be tempted by their baklava......oh and their portions are HUGE, we can share and bring home 2 more meals worth, but they charge for sharing so we almost never do, better value you know! Give me strength! |
Hi everyone!
Lara - So sorry you were sick, but congrats on the loss! I'm still going downhill, on day 16 of my elimination diet. I really want to get back into CCing, but right now it just seems like one more thing I've got to do in my life. :dizzy: With my diet being so restricted, I can't really plan menus or anything. It's thrown everything out of wack. I put down the babies for bed around 7:30pm, and usually end up falling asleep with them for the night. My husband says he tries to wake me up but I just won't. Anyways, enough complaining. Can't complain about losing weight, even though it is a pain eating the same foods every day. But I'm thinking that I'm destined for a life free from gluten, or wheat at the least. My husband has that allergy, and chances are good my kids do as well. I don't really mind that, because I've never been one of those types who has to have bread at every meal. I will just have to find another way to make the vegan chocolate peanut butter bars that I LOVE! ;) Mmmmmm, I want some..... |
Hey if you PM me the recipe maybe I can look at it and see if there is something I can do with it.....I have made WF scones, cookies, brownies ect....can't quite get a good tortilla or pizza crust but have made a good flat bread that works for that. Unfortunatley you have to eat the stuff quickly or it loses texture but hey its better than never eating a cookie again or paying $10 in the store for stuff like that.
Also visity www.madebymona.com she has great WF mixes and supplies! |
Carrie ~ I just don't know how you are doing it. I would dread the next mouthfull of food. I would be a bad Mom and stop breast feeding, you are just so strong.
Edzard ~ I see congratulations are in order. 11 years, they just fly don't they? Well I better get going and I will check back with you all tomorrow. |

Thought everyone might benefit from this... Are You Afraid Of Being Thin? By Dr. Matthew Anderson Exclusive for eDiets Here is a surprising truth about many weight-challenged individuals: they (you) have a great fear of being thin. Yes, I know that almost everyone who is overweight says that they want to be thin. But it is also true that a very high percentage of those people fail at weight loss. Trust me. You do not fail because you are lazy and undisciplined. I have worked with too many weight-challenged people to believe this. You fail because you have a deep-seated fear of what will happen when and if you drop all those pounds. You get sick of being overweight and decide to diet. For a while you drop pounds. Then without warning something happens and you lose control and begin to gain again. You feel almost possessed by a drive to eat, and you cannot seem to stop even though you know you are adding all that weight you worked so hard to lose. You hate yourself and you blame yourself and you may even feel a bit crazy. I have counseled hundreds of individuals who relate the same disturbing story and have discovered that they all share something in common. They all have a deep fear of being thin. When their weight loss approaches a certain point, they stop feeling fat (every dieter has this point). This is when their fear takes over and drives them to revert to fattening eating habits. The fear is often so strong and so confusing that they have no way to productively manage themselves. This process continues until they gain enough to take away the fear. Sadly almost 99 percent of all diet programs have no understanding of this fear and provide no support, counseling or tools for discovering and managing it. But the fear is real and extremely powerful and will block all efforts to get and stay thin unless it is confronted and managed. Is the situation hopeless? Are you doomed to be held forever hostage to your fear of thin? No. It is not hopeless and Yes, you can do something about it. Fear can be overcome if it is identified and then confronted with support. I have made a list below of examples of fear from many of the weight-challenged people I have counseled. I encourage you to read the list and see if some of these items apply to you. Then I also suggest that you make your own list based on the exercise I describe at the end of the article. Then you will be on your way to positive change. Possible Sources of Fear of Thin Please use this list to begin your own search for your fear or fears of being thin. If you find even one item that applies to you, pay attention and look more closely at yourself. Simply identifying a fear is a giant step on the way to overcoming it. You may fear your sexual energy. Many individuals fear they will become out of control sexually if they lose weight. You may have been raped and fat protects you from men. "If I stay obese men will not pursue me and I will be safe." Your self-esteem may be very low and you might actually feel undeserving of weight loss. Your fat may be a way of resisting the growing up process (baby fat) because adulthood seems frightening. You may believe that losing weight might require you to make other scary or painful choices and changes (divorce, change jobs, lose friends). Weight loss may require you to accept more challenges or responsibilities and staying fat then becomes a form of safety. You may fear being seen and therefore judged. You may fear the loss of food as a drug and as a hiding place from the difficulties of your life. You may fear your own power. "Who and what will I be if I drop these pounds?" These are just a few of the fears of being thin. I encourage you to take a deeper look into your own mind and heart with this exercise. Write 25 different completions to this sentence. Don't stop with five or 15. Do all 25. You will find amazing and useful answers. "I am afraid to be thin because..." If you want more tough minded tools for exploring this subject please email me at [email protected]. Now, go do your homework. You can beat your fear of thin. |
Hey there gorgeous group!
GrammyL- I'm so sorry that you don't feel too well. We have Vernors out here. I saw it at the market, I've been meaning to try it. Congrats on the loss!!! You go mama! I'm kinda dreading the weekend as well, we're doing Birthday celebrations for DF. It should be ok, but sometimes I don't trust myself! LOL :D Edzard- Congratulations on your upcoming Anniversary! The menu sounds delish already. We also have a fond love of Mediterranean cuisine too. Oh girl I hear you about the clothes and undies issue, but when my boobs start to sag to my belly button, because of my bra, I will make some sacrifices! LOL! I haven't picked up anything yet. But gosh, now my 14 capris are starting to get a bit too much for me. LOL Irish- Good luck with your drive. And also a big good luck at the Festival. ;) Carrie- You are such a wonder!! I also don't know how you do it, but it's quite inspirational. Keep up the good work, you gotta do, what you gotta do. Well I'm so glad that Tuesday is about over. I got back into my workout kick. I've done a total of 90 minutes of good working out. LOL I'm getting so close to our Anniversary. YIKES!!! Well have a great evening everyone!! Calories: 1550 Fiber 27 grams |
Tinky ~ I can't wait to get back to 100% on my tummy. WTG on the workout, I don't think I will ever do 90 minutes but I am going further each day.
Zoe ~ Have you tried any of the rice products on the market. I read the back of my rice pasta box and there wasn't anything but rice products in it. I am not sure if you can have it or not but just a suggestion. I feel so bad that your foods are so limited. I think between my mouth and my tummy is what is keeping me on track right now. I have a hard time getting down all that I have to eat to keep me on track so I am not even tempted by treats at this point. Popcorn is the devil until my mouth is healed, I got a couple of shells stuck in the openings because they haven't healed over and that hurt. That is my biggest temptation at night. DD now has the flu. The worst thing you can do is brag that you didn't get it and she did brag, but I still feel bad for her. DH and I both still have touchy tummys. The scale isn't moving but I am fine with it because I know I am doing everything right and my body probably needs time to adjust. I did lose a 1/2 inch off my waist but I didn't measure anywhere else because that is the only place that concerns me. I am also losing in the shoulder area because I can feel the bones and I am starting to see them. So even though the scale is stalled I know I am progressing. I did my walk jog this morning and it felt so good. I go a little further each day on how far I am going with the jog. I also went further than normal because I still want to get the same amount of time in. I have all my POP meals ready to go for the day and feel organized which is weird. Dinner last night was brown rice cooked w/low sodium chicken stock, cauliflower and chicken. I take and mix it all together, it is SOOOO good. We haven't had it in a long time and it really hit the spot for me. I cooked just enough for DD and I so I wouldn't be tempted to over eat. Lunch today I have rice pasta salad w/veggies, a salad and 2 oz of chicken. It is another one of my favs but I had to add extra vinegar this morning because it was all soaked up and I love that tang. Well I better get going for now and will talk at you all later. |
Ok had to go shopping for new pants for my new job at Starbucks and bought a dockers size 12!! Seems odd that some of my pants were 18's for a while, and some of it maybe brand since I haven't worn dockers before. But I am still really happy to be in a size that sounds descent! Plus they are cute, the other nice thing is that I have to tuck my shirt in at work, and I can without feeling like a blob! The "few" pounds I have lost sure have made a big difference to my shape, I joke with my husband I will be a will o wisp if I make it to 140 lol.
Oh well we will see when I get there, I figure whatever weight I am happiest and healthiest at is my true goal weight! Have a good week all. |
Hi - I haven't been logging my calories yesterday or today. TOM has arrived and I've sort of just wanted to curl up in a ball and hide from the world. I'm going through peri-menopause so this is only the 3rd visit from TOM in 2007. I shouldn't complain but I have horrible cramps and no desire to do much of anything. Yesterday was the 1st day I haven't walked the dog in I don't know how long. She was so mad at me. I was curled up and she kept coming over and giving me the doggy stare, loading on the guilt. But, I truly felt so rotten that I didn't go. I'm not feeling much better today but my headache is gone and I was able to move my ticker down 2 pounds - woo-hoo!
Grammy - I'm so excited to read about your walk/jog. Sorry to hear you still aren't 100% over your flu. Vernors started here in Michigan. I grew up in California and when I prefer ginger ale but Michigan people swear by vernor's for upset tummy. Edzard- congrats on the 12! You must feel great!! Tinky- 90 minutes...wow! |
Ehh brightside its not even worth logging your cals during TOM because hormones are so out of wack. Cramps are a pain, feel better :(
I think I need to start logging my cals better because I've gained 3 lbs in 3 days from like, one BBQ. I think I'm the only person in the world that eats more during the summer then during the winter. Edzard, I work at a coffee shop too! I'm actually heading there in a few.. do you drink a lot of coffee when your there? I probably make myself like 5 drinks every time I'm there. Good thing for my health that I never end up finishing them! |
Lol I plan my drinks carefully, otherwise I would be in trouble! In fact because I close tonight I just finished lunch and then planned the rest of my day for food....can't be too careful about that. This way I can pack my snacks plan on my drinks and sub out if needed. I can't have dairy or wheat so I am forced to be good at a certain level. Unfortunatley I usually give in during TOM to my wheat cravings so I am afraid what will happen in a couple weeks, I will fact it when I get there I guess.
I am trying to psych myself up by letting everyone know I can't eat wheat, then I know I will have to face them if I decide to cheat lol. Raised eyebrows anyone haha. Have fun! |
Hey all, good work! Keep it up! :D

over my goal of 1100 for weightloss AND most of it was from snacking- 612 calories to be exact. So, I am setting up some guidelines because I am slacking off on my eating: 1. Only PLANNED Snacks. 2. If I am hungry DRINK something before I eat. 3. No eating after 8:30 PM. Its crazy how much I can pack in. 4. MEASURE everything. I am slacking! Ugh... I am 100% sure I gained weight so I am just moving my ticker up :( |
We just got back from a 3-day vacation (Six Flags). I ate like a fool (didn't count cals, just enjoyed the heck out of myself) and didn't exercise (other than walking all day long for two days at the parks) and I lost a pound. :carrot: Today was my first day back to reality.

Hello everyone!! Yay it's Thursday! Ugh, I need to really keep focused. I've been stress eating. My boss isn't one of the best people I've worked for, and it's getting under my skin. So I pledged to myself that next week we will start a new ball game. I've written up a plan, and I intend on following it. I've made it this far, there is no need to undo my hard work! DARN IT! :dizzy:
GrammyL- Thanks, I need to keep it up. Though I don't know if I can do 90 minutes a day! LOL! Yay it's Thursday! Thank goodness!!! Whoah, I need to order DF's birthday cake!! Yikes! :fr: We're having his celebration this Sunday, but he wants a Ice Cream cake from Baskin Robbins...I need to get my booty over there after work. Well talk to you all later!! |

GOOOOOOD AFTERNOON!
Tinky ~ Stress eating is a hard one to tackle. There are certain people in my life that trigger my eating, my oldest daughter, and I she came out for dinner last night and I at something that wasn't on plan and I asked myself why while I was eating it and it was her. Love her to death but she has always created a lot of stress in my life. Diane ~ That is fantastic. I thought I could do it on my vacation but I flopped on my face. WTG! Ssmiley ~ I eat more in the summer than I do in the winter because of BBQ's and family get togethers. Brightside ~ Thanks, I feel so much better. I think drinking all that water I was drinking made it worse. Now that I am drinking what I consider a normal amount I am feeling better. CherryAutumn ~ WTG on the loss. I used to be a bing eater and there is nothing worse than feeling like you were totally out of control. The thing that I found to over come those moments is to get busy. When that doesn't work I force myself to eat a salad even if that doesn't sound good. Well I am feeling better today. I think cutting back on the water helped a lot. The program I am doing suggest 100 oz of water but it got me thinking. I used to drink 100 oz faithfully and usually by the end of the day I was feeling a little ick. Then I fell off the wagon with water, I still drink over 70 oz a day but I don’t feel icky. Can to much water actually make you feel icky? Well I am down .4 lbs this morning so maybe I will make my 185 goal by Monday but that means making sure I stay POP. I always get stuck at this weight and I am not doing it this time. I took my measurements this morning, not sure what beginning was for anything except my waist. I am down 1.5 inches in my waist alone. My legs, well just looking at them and you know they have shrunk. That is the one place I don’t need to shrink, well other than the fat at the top. Bought a smaller bra yesterday also. Lucky me the same size cup, DD but a 40 is just right. So I am HAPPY! Now my boss has the flu. I feel bad because I feel I gave it to him but I was told that I wouldn’t be contagious after the fact. Someone exposed us both and I found the source today. One of our faculty members came back from India with it. ARG! Today at our department luncheon I passed up all the goodies and had two salads. I ate my protein before I went. No one even really noticed that is all I had. HEHEHE! Lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cooked carrots on the side. The desserts looked good but I just keep on going because one wouldn’t be a enough and none of it could taste as good as success. Well I better get going and talk to you all later. |
Hey all....well I've done alot better. Though when I do stress out, I tend to eat alot of salt, but I'm trying to get rid of the salt, so I'm pushing tons of water. LOL!
GrammyL- Yeah it is a hard one to tackle, but I'm thinking to myself that I need to just be on my best behavior since I have my vacation coming up. LOL...I'm trying..but sometimes it's hard. Cherry- Way to go!! Keep it up! Oh2007- Sounds like fun, I really want to go again to Six Flags! And you lost a lb too!! That is just perfect in my eyes! LOL! RockNroll- Yeah I hear ya on slacking, I'm not as strict as I used to be. But I can fix that myself. It's all about will power. Edzard- A size 12? Woohoooo, you go girl!!! I wish I could get into those! Well gonna have my dinner, I'm having eggs and toast. LOL |

Total: 1023 Fat: 9% Fiber: 15 grams I feel like I've been on the low side of calories lately, but I never go to bed hungry. Is it okay for me to be so low, or should I try to eat more calorie-rich foods to make up for it? |
