This week has been a rough week. I've been battling an eye infection. They diagnosed it as a bacteria pink eye, but I don't know. It seems get worse when I sleep. When I wake up my eyes are all blood shot and I have a headache. It sucks cuz I want to wear my contacts, but they advised me not to until this thing clears up. I'm gonna try later today...just for a few hours....I'm taking my DD to the water park. I'd hate to be looking for my glasses in the wave pool! Anyways... Diane- I hope you had a great birthday. Tinky-Get to feeling better. RocknRoll-great job on the 7 cups of fruits and veggies.

I better get to bed...tomorrow I have to shopping for a dreaded swimsuit. I haven't owned one since high school...:(

Everyone have a great day.

Morning weigh in : 147

Its been awhile since I used the body fat application on my scale. Last time I used it was I think last week. Well, before I hopped on my last weigh in with it was 145.8 lbs and 34.8% body fat.

So this morning I hop on and its 147 but 31.5% body fat!! I almost fell over because since owning this scale I have only dropped 4%. Am I really building all this muscle??

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!

zenor77 08-11-2007 03:54 PM

Hi all! My cals yesterday were a little over 2000 and my weight is holding steady this morning. Yay! German food did not do me in! DH and I did split an entree and I only ate half of my portion. Of course, I also had beer, a bit of the appetizers, and a yummy dark cherry gelatin for dessert. But, I did dance the polka to one song. Man is that a work out! The band was really funny, they did polka versions of popular songs.

I've been thinking I may just call myself done with the weight loss for now. I'm back to my high school weight and I'm fitting well into size 10's. I know according to BMI I should weight 149, but I kinda think BMI is bunk. Did you know it was invented by a mathematician (not doctor) in the 1850's? Crazy huh?!?!?!? Plus, my BP is back where it should be. I can always lose more later is I want.

I'll still stick around though! I love the support here!

Steelslady 08-11-2007 05:34 PM

GrammyL, that creation explanation was hilarious, but oh so true. :D Thanks for sharing.

Tinky009 08-11-2007 08:41 PM

Hey all...:thanks: for all the well wishes!! I feel a bit better. I actually have tonsillitis. The Doc recommends that we get them out next year. Sounds good to me. I was eating soup and broccoli for the last couple of days. I had some real food today. And I actually had some McDonalds! Happy Meal though! LOL!
I can't wait to get back on track on Monday. I hope to be better by then.

Oh2007- :celebrate: I'm sorry this is a tad late, but Happy Birthday!!!

Zenor- The most important thing is that you're happy!!! ;)

Bridgette- Oooh, I know about pink eye....it's no fun! I hope you feel better. Warm towels helped me.

Irish- Great job!!! :carrot: And that is so awesome that DH and you are getting involved in activities!! That sounds like fun!!

Well....off to rest! Talk to you later!

Congrats on being happy zenor! I bet you feel awesome!

Tinky! I am glad your feeling better! I was starting to miss your purple font :p My mom is actually getting her tonsils out on the 16th- shes really nervous and I am going to have to take care of her. So that reminds me- any good liquids I can feed her? I am going to do creamy soups, smoothies, and milkshakes but ideas would be awesome- she doesn't care about calories or fat- infact, she is afraid to lose weight (she could lose 15 pounds and look fine but shes happy with how she looks so good for her!)

i can't believe its only 12:45... I am not tired at all!

cjc92802 08-13-2007 08:22 AM

Wow Zenor GOAL! That's awesome. And Tinky, I can't believe how far you've come, great job!

Saying hello, still on my turkey, millet, brown rice, sweet potato, avocado, pear, olive oil, and coffee diet. It's making for great weight loss.....

Ohhkay8 08-13-2007 09:49 AM

I've been so busy doing lots of last minute shopping and packing and haven't posted here in a couple of days.

Calorie count for yesterday:

Cals: 1375
Fat: 19%

I'm also down 2 pounds from Thursday, and it's TOM! So hopefully I'll be down even more at the end of the week.

Have a great day all.

Brightside ~ I hate eye infections, I have had my fair share. I almost lost my eyesight from a rare eye infection when I was a teen but haven't had once since. I eye surgery, radiocaritometry (SP?, that is how it sounds) and I no longer where glasses, a rare success according to my regular eye doctor. I had that done about 10 years ago but I am now noticing problems seeing up close in the morning but hopefully it won't get any worse.

Tinky ~ I would be afraid to get my out but if you get this alot I don't blame you. Glad your feeling a little better.

Zenor ~ You are not at an unhealthy weight and if you are happy that is what counts.

Carrie ~ You are such a good Mom.

Well this weekend was a huge bomb to say the least but today is another day and I am back on track.

I have to get going because break is over. Lots to get done before the start of the semester.

Tinky009 08-13-2007 10:39 AM

Good Morning Everyone. I am so ready to really jump back on the wagon.
I feel alot better today, I can swallow w/o wincing! Yay! LOL!

RockNRoll- I know that your mom can eat tons of ice cream. As for soups, I think something cream based with be good to help coat the throat. I don't know if the doc would reccomend that. I hope she's ok. Great job with dropping your fat %!

GrammyL- I'm ready to get them out! LOL I hate getting these every year or actually twice a year. It's no fun at all.

Carrie- Hey you're half way there with your goal!! :carrot: That's something to shake your booty to. Thanks, it's been a journey, but I'm glad I took it! How's your new place? Do you like it so far? How are the kiddies?

OhhKay- :cb: That is some good progress! Keep up the good work. I'll shake my booty to that too!

Well here's to eating healthy again! Have a great day everyone!

CoolMom75 08-13-2007 12:03 PM

This will be my third week of the low 150's and I am getting quite upset about it actually. I've been religious about my calorie counting and stayed within my range.

My average cals has been about 1700. I am breast feeding exclusively still, and supposedly that accounts for about 500 cals. (subtract that and I'm truly at 1200) so I'm afraid to lower my cals much more. But I've been doing this range the whole time and it seems logical that I would need to lower my cals when I'm significantly smaller than I was??

If I don't see the 140s soon I'm really going to be depressed. Doing all this fuss and no reward!

As you can see...I did not make my 150 goal :(

GrammyL 08-13-2007 01:23 PM

Tinky ~ My goodness, I am glad they finally decided to just take them out. Nothing worse than a sore throat.

Zoe ~ I would talk to your doctor before you decide to lower your calories with breast feeding and all. You want to make sure your milk stays nutritious for you littleone.

This is what we ate this weekend to satisfy him. Chinese Buffet, Tacos and chicken mole - DH's family version is a red sauce, homemade tortillas, spanish rice. Today, BLOAT!

OK, get this, DH and YDD were mad because I bought super lean ground beef so when they were eating their tacos the grease didn't run down there arms. I told them TUFF!

Better run, lunch hour is over so I am off to the next project.

edzard 08-13-2007 03:11 PM

Hey all, still hanging in there, long time no post. I am not sure what is up with my weight! I feel like a yo-yo, every day is different and 3 times now I have gone up a few pounds and back down, driving me crazy! I was as low as 188 and high as 192 all in like a week and half time. Sitting at 190.5 right now, which means I will probably drop to 188 tomorrow just because I posted this lol.

Trying not to let it get me down too much, gonna keep on trucking and hope that I can get as low as possible. I am still on average 10 pounds lighter now than I was two months ago, I am just feeling so motivated that I feel like the weight should just fly off lol!.

Have a great week, Oh and wish me luck I start working nights at Starbucks this week ( I am a stay at home mom, that homeschools ) so I will be moving a lot more than usual, 20-30 hours more to be exact, maybe it will help?

Sorry don't have time to post indiv. just keep up the good work all. Hope everyone who was ill last time is feeling better!

RocknRoll, just to let you know i had a tonsillectomy recently and was told to eat as normal as possible, more solid foods like toast rather than ice cream as it helps the area keep clean and heal properly. *shrugs* maybe they tell us differently in the UK! Lots of fluids tho is the main thing!

Anyway, everyone seems like they're doing good, keep up the good work everyone!

Does anyone ever wonder if we counted the amount of weight all of us have lost how much it'd be? I bet it's loads!!

Yes, I only noticed I was halfway there when I changed my ticker. Wow! Shaking that booty.....:carrot:

And look at you - 2 more pounds and you'll be halfway there!

We like Charlotte a lot. We're living temporarily in an apartment, which is cramped for 5 people. But the complex is nice, there's a pool and everyone is friendly.

All the girls are doing well. Lela is 2.5 now and is blossoming. She has always had an amazing vocabulary and now she can express her feelings. We're working to get her to calmly talk about things that frustrate her instead of whining....but that's a typical toddler response, so we're just taking it slowly.

Laurel and Olivia are almost 8 months and are all over the place! They are trying to pull up on things and getting into their big sister's things. They're little nursing champs and are still exclusively breastfed, until I can figure out what's going on with the food reactions.

Thanks for asking. I miss all my buddies at 3FC. You all gave me the good start that I needed. I'm already gearing up for my 30th (2009) and told my husband that I want a big party. I'll be svelte (well, as svelte as you can be after a twin pregnancy) and ready to party - I want it to start with a trip to the spa....:)

zenor77 08-14-2007 12:34 AM

Today was a BIG day on the calories. I'm definitely fighting the stress-craving-demon these days. Most days I've been able to stay around 2000 cals, but today I had 2622. YIKES! I hope I can get lower tomorrow to compensate.

We have less then two weeks now until the big move to Washington. I'm stressed, but the excitement is starting to come through. I'll be sad to be so far away from my friends and (most) family, but it'll be a fun adventure. I'm making everyone promise to visit us.

Packing is quite a chore, but I'm proud of myself. We've really been pairing down and getting rid of a lot of junk. I've always sworn that I would not become a pack rat and I'm actually following through! It's a great feeling to know that the house will be less cluttered after unpacking.

Coolmom~ You are doing great! Just be vigilant and it'll start coming back off again!

cjc~ Glad to hear you are doing well in Charlotte! I'm going crazy with moving plans with only the two of us and two animals, I don't know how you did it! Your food plan sounds good, btw, although millet is the one whole grain I haven't tried yet.

edzard~ When I went from an office job to an on-my-feet-all-day job I lost 20lbs without even trying. So trust me, it'll help! That sounds like a fun job! I hope you enjoy it.

Grammy~ Grease running down their arms????!?!?!?! Ewww... that's gross! I won't eat meat on pizza due to the grease factor. They'll be better for not having it anyhow, good for you being tough on them!

Tinky~ Glad to hear you are feeling better!

CoolMom75 08-14-2007 02:46 AM

Well, I guess I was having some constipation issues and didn't realize it (yowza!). took care of the issue and met my goal of 150. How embarrassing!

GrammyL 08-14-2007 10:11 AM

Zenor ~ That is one thing about moving, it does help you clean things out. I try to clean closets once or twice a year to make sure I am not packing away to much stuff.

Zoe ~ CONGRATS! See you did achieve your goal, just had to much junk in the trunk. HAHAHA! Sorry couldn't help it.

Zenor ~ Yes, DH loves greasy food. I eliminated the deep fryer from the house about 3 years ago and they have become used to eating baked things that used to be deep fried. Then all his greasy mexican food but you know what it doesn't have to be bad for you, its all in how you cook it.

Well I have stayed true to my threat to myself. HAHAHAHA! If I wasn't below 180 by the end of July I was going back on my plan that will get me there. It is just hard because it works on the glycemic index, unprocessed foods including condiments and its low sodium/low fat. Let me see, that eliminates almost all eating out. HAHAHAH! This means I have to cook almost all of my meals and they are usually fish, chicken or turkey. This plan allows you to melt but it is hard to do all that cooking and to avoid all the foods my family is used to. Like they say nothing comes easy and my health is worth it.

Well I better get goign for now and will talk at you all later.

GrammyL 08-14-2007 10:13 AM

Shy Moment ~ That is how it usually works for me. I like them but doesn't bother me to stay away from them. Now that I say that I will start craving thme. HAHAHAHA! Good luck on avoiding them but you may be craving salt or oil from dieting.

Ohhkay8 08-14-2007 11:04 AM

Yesterday's count:

Cals: 1126
Fat: 25%

Keep up the good work all!

Tinky009 08-14-2007 08:48 PM

Hello All!!

Zoe- Woohooo!!! Great job at reaching 150 girl! I knew you could do it!

GrammyL- DH and DB are fond of fried foods, it just makes my arteries feel like they're going to harden! LOL! I told them I only want them to eat it, if they only have to about every other week if possible!

Shymoment- Well they're full of fat, but the good ones. You can have them but in moderation. ;)

Zenor- I don't envy you with moving....it's such a chore. But once you get settled in, it'll be nice. Stress eating is quite expected, though I'm proud of you for keeping it "controlled"! ;)

Carrie-I'm more than anything lookin forward to the 5 lbs gones....I'm tired of being classified obese, that was so last season! LOL Again, your girls are so adorable!! Lela seems like she is going to be a wonderful older sister! Well judging by your last pic, you will be one smokin' mama!

Edzard- Good luck with your new job!! I'm thinking you won't have any problems with losing extra while working there. It helped my friend lose his last 10! LOL!

Well I had a mini triumph today, I actually jogged and not get tired!!! I did it on the treadmill at work! Yay! I was the same person who said I hate jogging or running! LOL! Oh and I'm able to cross my legs and feel so comfortable doing it! LOL!

I'll post my calories later!

CoolMom75 08-15-2007 04:09 AM

lesson learned today...never make these cheese rolls again. They were supposed to be a yummy side to the super low cal navy bean soup. Unfortunately they were very tasty but oh so small and calorie packed! Basically rolls of cheese and butter. so my overall cals for the day=2300!!!

onward and upward. ;)

GrammyL 08-15-2007 08:22 AM

GOOOOD MORNING!

Well the Chinese/Mexican/TOM bloat is leaving so I weighed myself and even though its just a little, a little is better than nothing. 1 pound down.

Tinky ~ I am in the same boat. I started jogging last week and I am up to a 1/2 mile jog a day and then I speed walk the other. What I have discovered is speed walking and jogging works different muscles so I will continue to do this for a while. Speed walking really works the corr and backs of the legs and jogging doesn't seem to. GOOOOOOOD JOB! and congrats on the leg crossing. That was a big triumph for me also but it still could be easier just need to lose more.

Zoe ~ Sorry to hear about the cheese rolls. They do sound delicious but just hearing the name makes me sigh knowing they would be a no no.

I get my wisedom teeth out today. They say it will be an easy deal but we shall see. They say easy because mine are in, not impacted and they only have tiny hooks to hold them in. The surgeon said no sweat. I hope he is right.

So far so good at restarting my program. By the way the program is the 6WBMO, for me it works like magic but its hard giving up so much stuff but no one said it would be easy.

Yesterdays calories were 1435.

Well I have to get some work done because I am leaving early so I will talk to you all later.

irishfairy 08-15-2007 01:11 PM

GrammyL: ish wisdom teeth are tough I had mine out 2 years ago the day before thanksgiving and missed out on yummy thanksgiving :( hope all goes well for you mine were impacted so I hope your are as easy as they think :)

Well I AM DOWN THREE MORE POUNDS that is a total of 11 lbs weight loss!!!!!!! yay me I am super excited!!!!!!!:carrot::carrot::carrot:

8 more pounds until I am 199 and officially under 200!!!! can't wait

Nicci

CoolMom75 08-15-2007 01:46 PM

Jogging? What's that? I am so bad about exercise. I keep saying I will start but haven't yet.

Nicci, you can kick the 200s no problem! you're so close!

Alright. My plan to do better on cals today:
breakfast: fiber One
lunch: garden burger on WW bread
Dinner: ground turkey enchilada and brown spanish rice
green tea!!!!!!!! lots of it.

RocknRoll 08-15-2007 02:42 PM

Hey guys! Sorry I havn't checked in for awhile! I am under A LOT of stress so I am not eating a lot. I really don't want to post the numbers... but I just wanted to drop in and say YOU GUYS ROCK!

Seriously keep up the great work :)

Tinky009 08-15-2007 08:39 PM

Happy Hump Day everyone! LOL at least what's left of it.

Zoe- Wow....cheese and butter sound dangerous already! Yeah I'm sorry that they ended up being high cal. But as long as they tasted good. LOL! thanks for reminding me about the green tea, I just bought a box and haven't really had them everyday!

GrammyL- How are you doing after the wisdom tooth removal? Ok....gotta refresh me, what is the 6WBMO program?

Nicci- :bravo: YOU GO GIRL!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!! :carrot:
You are so close to jumping into Onderland! You can do it!

RockNRoll- I hope everything is alright with you.

Well I outdid myself once again today, I actually jogged a 1.5 miles! This is pretty cool, I like this jogging stuff! Though I'm so sore now...LOL! And I just finished my afternoon workout! LOL! Well I forgot to post calories yesterday.
I had 1506 calories
and 22g of Fiber~

Talk to you all later!

OH2007 08-15-2007 11:47 PM

I haven't reported in for a few days because life's been crazy. My eating wasn't the best but it wasn't completely horrible. I gained a couple and lost them again, now at the same. I think things should be calming down a bit now so I'm back. (Until a mini-vacation next week...)

Wednesday:

Total: 1574
Fat: 30g, 18%
Carbs: 291g, 62%
Protein: 73g, 20%
Fiber: 63g

cjc92802 08-16-2007 05:14 AM

Tinky - You'll make those last 5 pounds. You must be a little shorter than I am. After you mentioned that, I wonder what my BMI was and I'm no longer "obese" myself! Just "overweight". Woo hoo! Although I'm sure with all the exercise, you could very well have a lower body fat percentage than someone who weighs less. BMI can be misleading, I think fat percentage is a better tool. But BMI is easier to assess, so....

Whoa ladies, this elimination diet is rough! I'm on Day 11 of eating only turkey (not deli turkey), millet, brown rice, avocados, pears, broccoli, sunflower seeds, sweet potatos and olive oil. No wheat, no dairy, no eggs, no gluten, no sugar, no chocolate.....all the stuff I used to eat! Even when I was losing weight, I was still eating a lot of these things - I could do it because my calorie needs are so high with nursing the babies. This has been a real eye-opener on healthy eating. I'm craving some variety though. I hope that the babies show some improvement soon so I can begin adding new foods.

I just found out from my MIL that my husband had a confirmed wheat AND related-wheat allergy. She told me that as a kid, when he cut out wheat products (read: gluten) his stomach problems greatly improved. Gluten allergies are highly inheritable - - - so that means that the problems that Lela (she's got bad tummy issues, too, diahrrea) Olivia and Laurel (just not normal breastfed baby poop) have been experiencing are most likely related to gluten. I don't know if this means Celiac Disease (as you can be gluten-intolerant and not have CD) but we're shifting our diet now.

I just found out that I was consuming a hidden source of gluten - Rice Dream rice milk. It said gluten-free but it's not....

So I'm actually down to about 166-167, but haven't changed my ticker. That's about 7 pounds in 10 days. :o

GrammyL 08-16-2007 08:37 AM

6wbmo

6WBMO is the Six Week Body Makeover created my Michael ThurmMond from Extreme Makeover. He create this program a long time ago but it was for the rich at famous at about $5000 a week at his spa. Then he decided to make it available to everyone about 5 or 6 years ago. The 3FatChicks have actually evaluated the program and to me they didn't give it the highest reviews mainly because it is hard and you eat lots of fish, turkey and chicken. You have to take a test which gives you your body type and from there you are give the combinations of foods to eat and at what general times to eat them, there is no proven medical research that this works is another reason it had lower ratings. I am here to tell you if you are a tough nut, determined to lose weight and don't mind some cooking, the program works but it requires a lot of sacrific to me. So far this week I am down to 189.6 from 194.4 on Monday. Yes, its mostly water but I can now put my pants back on that I haven't had on in over a month and they are actually loose. To me, not only is the scale proof but the pants are also that the program works.

The reason I say the program is hard is they like all fresh, unprocessed foods (no processed meaats, flour products and only rice pasta). Low sodium and low fat (no cheese or nuts). They prefer fresh fruits and veggies but you can use canned or frozen as long as there is no added sugar or salt. Both sugar and salt will stop your progress believe me I know. Sodium especially has ill effects on weight loss. LOTS of cooking but I cook in bulk, you eat 5 to 6 small meals a day.

I am a body type A, an apple. That is the worse of all body types, and we all know that from medical studies. So, my digestive system doesn't work the greatest and is slow. The object of this plan is to get things moving and feeding your body properly is key. So, I eat a lot of chicken, turkey, fish and egg whites and limit my red meats and pork, which take longer to digest, to about once a week. If you use different spices and such on your allowed meats, you don't get sick of it. They have a recipe forum that I use a lot and I have several dishes that my family LOVES that are on my plan.

You can find out more about the program on here, there is even a chat room here but not real active. Also, there is a webpage Provida.com where there are chat rooms and such so you can see real people, hear what they have to say and get support. There is also a section of success stories and I was actually in groups with some of these people but they were very dedicated and I would like to kick myself in the rear for not being. I have two groups I post with there.

GrammyL 08-16-2007 09:06 AM

GOOOOOOD Morning!

Yep, I am at work. All but one of my wisdom teeth popped right out with just minimal prying. One was so well rooted that they had to take it out in 4 sections and the still had problems getting one of the roots out so that side of my mouth is sour to the touch and just kinda a discomfort to me. The other side I wouldn't even know anything was done. I still can't open my jaw all the way so I just take small bites and make sure my food is on the softer side other than all the chicken I eat.

I will skip posting my calories because I was way low because of my teeth.

Nicci ~ I was lucky, mine were in and have been for over 20 years. I was just sick of them complaining about them so I decided to get them out. Yours would be much worse than mine because my DD was sore for about a week after she got hers out. They caught hers before they came in.
http://th183.photobucket.com/albums/..._tagway2go.gif you will be in onderland soon, you can do it!

Zoe ~ You are to funny about the jogging, its not for everyone. I am not out to go long distances just doing it to make sure I lose this weight. I still prefer a fast walk.

Tinky ~ http://th183.photobucket.com/albums/...h_thway2go.gif I will probably never make it that far with jogging but I am fine with that but it really makes you feel good all over doesn't it. I seem to remember it releases the feel good hormones and I need all I can get.

RocknRoll and Diane ~ Hang in there girls, things will calm down.

Well I am off I have to get ready for a big meeting this morning. YAH! NOT!

Check back in a while.

Tinky009 08-16-2007 10:03 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

Calories yesterday: 1342
Fiber: 25g

GrammyL- I'm glad you survived the dentist! Thanks for explaining the 6WBM! I was looking into that too. I may even have to really loook more into now. It sounds pretty reasonable. It does feel so good to jog, well to work out in general. For that one week that I was unable to work out, I felt so DARN sluggish!

Carrie- I am short..but seem to carry my baggage well. Atleast that's what everyone tells me. LOL! Yeah BMI is something I don't take too seriously. But to take it off my Dr's chart, I will. LOL! Wow Gluten allergy. That's pretty big. Alot of stuff out there has gluten in it. Well I hope that's the only culprit that's causing reactions to your girls. Though with your eating plan, I'm pretty impressed with your loss! Dare I say..GREAT JOB! ;) :carrot:

Oh2007- Great job at not gaining. That's always hard when real life hands you stress. Good to see you!

Yay, it's Thursday. This week has flown by! DF took the day off and begged me to stay home. Ugh, I wish I could, but this month and next, I have alot of expenditures. His Birthday, our anniversary, and my California trip. LOL! Oh and the bills that come with real life! Well I am so SORE today so I will probably stick to walking and strength training.

Talk to you later..got to get back to work. Tata! :dizzy:

edzard 08-16-2007 11:26 AM

CJC that is tough, celiacs disease should be something you can test for if I remember right? What I have is a wheat intolerance, so I can have some glutens and such but no wheat or wheat related stuff, that I know of lol. Its tricky when it comes to this stuff because there is little know about it. You will find some websites stating that oatmeal has gluten (including the celiacs site, you should find that if you suspect it btw) and others that say it doesn't ugh!

Anyway good luck and if you find that your kids are celiacs or wheat intolerant PM me and I can maybe give you a recipe or two and a couple good websites for mixes that are good (once your done with elimination). Its not easy if you want to bake without wheat!! Good luck

Oh and I am staying at 188.5 right now (with small ups and back down to there), but I am working my first week at Sbucks so hopefully that will get some movement in my body is not used to! I keep saying I will exercise more but lately too much to do and too tired! My calorie 7 day average has crept up to 1750 but I made husband molasses cookies and they haven't helped me! lol they have wheat and are hanging around, next time the dough gets frozen and I make him small batches if he is home oncall (can't make him take it to work) Lesson Learned!

morning ladies!

Well, yesterday didn't go as well as planned. It was my second day this week of "maintenance" cals. I think its something psychological about hitting my pre-preg weight finally that took away my steam. But I still have 20 pounds to go and I really need to find my strength to continue.

I have half a week to play catch up.

I have found out that about 0.5% of the population has Celiac's Disease, but nearly 15% have a gluten intolerance. I *think* the difference is the body's reaction to the food. With Celiac's, it's an immune response and your intestines actually become damaged with exposure to gluten. With a gluten intolerance, there's no damage, but you have bad symptoms.

I'm thinking it's more likely a gluten intolerance - like a dairy protein intolerance. Nevertheless, I'm struggling to get to "baseline" with my twins. We're on day 11 and there's no significant improvement. I've been told it could take 2-3 weeks, though. Ugh!

WOW! I'm wearing both of the babies right now. I wear them every day for at least 4 hours, with a combined weight of 32-34 pounds. I'm used to it (I've been doing it since their combined weight was only 9 pounds.) but there's no denying it's quite a load.

I just stood on the scale to see how much we all weighed.

203.5 pounds

If you deduct for clothing and baby carriers (3.5 pounds)

You get 200 pounds. That's right where I started!!! I cannot BELIEVE that I used to carry around this much extra weight on my body. I'm speechless.

Zoe ~ That happens to me right where I am. This is a comfortable weight even though I have 60 to go. I have been higher for a few years but I have spent most of my adult life in the 170 - 180s. I have to really get my steam going or I will never get out of the 180's because my body prefers this weight also. I have been here for over a year and that is why I am switching back to my strict program that will get the weight off.

Tinky ~ It really is a great program and results are quick and for those that are determined to follow the program 100% the weight comes off fast. There are people who actually never start an exercise program and get the weight off. One is now trying to make up for that mistake because she is thin and flabby. The success stories are fantastic and motivating to read. For those that like to cook and be as healthy as they can be, this is the program for them. I don't like to cook and get tired of leftovers but if it means getting the weight of I will do it. I guess no one said it would be easy.

Carrie ~ I know. I have carried bags of salt into the house and thought, HMM this is how much I have lost and I have even further to go. Scarry.

Well I have to get some work done. Talk at you all later.

I'm back...I was away at a work conference last week, and out of the office every day this week so far, so I'm just getting back to my routines. I was working 14+ hours/day and eating what I could when I could. Needless to say, fitday was not part of my daily regime and I'm up 3.5 at this week's Monday weigh-in. I'm already down 1 from that, so hopefully, this blip will be off the radar screen quickly and I'll be back on plan. I hope to catch up on reading this thread over the weekend, but just wanted you to know that I'm still with you and still rooting you all on!
