Red Team 2012 Fall Back to Basics CHAT Thread Week 2 (09/03-09/09)
Here we go- into week 2. Last week was all about getting our feet under us, and remembering to drink our water.
What small change will you focus on this week?
I'm trying to remeber to stand up straight- whether I'm sitting or walking and trying to engage my core more.
Have a great holiday Monday, we are off to the mountains to do some hiking.

And here are the Red Team's Preliminary Results: I'll normally have these posted on Sunday evening.
LeslieB (blue team co-leader) posts the official weekly results here
I have the worse cold ever right now but im not letting it be an excuse to eat bad! I will be resting today but i will be chuggalugging the water and eating right! Been throwing in some extra c vitamins too! hehe
Hope everyone is having a great monday!!
I will be focusing on being more active this week!
Wow, we did great. I'm hoping this will be another good week for me. And, yes I'm sitting up straighter right now.
I'm going on a quilting retreat at Camp Tecumseh Thursday evening till Sunday afternoon. I plan to call and get the menus tomorrow to see what I may need to take to make sure I eat healthy. Good luck everyone!
Sorry for not posting last week. Had a little problem called Isaac welcoming me back to New Orleans. You gotta love this place or you couldn't live here!
Looking forward to chatting with you all now that we have electricity.
Congrats Red team and esp. to Burg for being the Biggest Loser!
I didn't actually introduce myself last week so here goes: My name is Jennifer and I am originally from Toronto living in Eastern Ontario. My goal for this challenge is to complete all the days of the Beck DIet Solution (I am up to Day 14 of 42).
I will be attending a wedding in 6 weeks and would like to lose (and keep off 10 pounds). This challenge ends five days before my 28th birthday and hope to be down 15-20 pounds by then
I will be posting weekly goals in the nutrition and exercise threads and noting how many days I am successful.
Congrats Burg, rwquilts, westcoast rosa and hotaruchan!
Back on the stick now after a long weekend away. I stayed pretty active and only had 2 adult beverages all weekend, but did eat more than I should have. But let me tell you, those 3 s'mores were worth every calorie!
I just tried to go running when I got home. The warm up walk went fine, but as soon as I started running it just didn't feel right - I didn't seem to have the energy. Running back up a small hill a few minutes later, I had trouble breathing, and started sounding wheezy. Dropped back to a walk and walked right back home. Oh well - better luck tomorrow.
Kris2008 I can only imagine- how crazy! Glad your safe
Mel you made me suck in my belly button and sit up straighter too!
My goal for this week is to complete week one of couch to 5k. My ultimate goal is to run a half marathon next August so I need to get started so I have lots of training time
Hi everyone -- Congratulations Red Team and to Burg, rwquilts, westcoast rosa and hotaruchan -- GOOD JOB!
I am really disappointed in myself on my bad start -- I'm struggling with stress eating....and it shows. I felt lucky on Saturday morning I only had a .5 pound gain, but unfortunately MORE has shown up since then.....I've got to get back on track. Talked to buddy on phone tonight and we talked about my taking some frozen dinners to work, I'll pick something I LIKE to eat. My friend also suggested pretzels for when I want to munch out of stress. I'm counting calories, and the stress is work related, so I also bought some of those "100 calorie packs" to have a treat when I'm stressed.
Hope everyone has a good week -- and remember to drink your water!
Way to go Red Team!!! (and thanks for the honourable mention)!
Yesterday was supposed to be my rest day, but we went to a huge fair here and ended up walking around for over 6 hours! Needless to say, I am a tad sore this morning.
My running buddy was out of town for the last 2 weeks, so we will be running together tonight. She runs faster than I do, so I am excited to see if running with her again increases my speed.
