What is your favorite healthy food? And what (if any) healthy food do you eat that you only eat because it is good for you?
I love edamame. I had sushi for the first time in january and edamame was a appetizer. Come to find out its a vegetable is full of protein....yummmm...
Well I have geen OP all week so hopefully tomorrow we will see the numbers on the scale
As for exercise I do not exercise when not feeling good- usually I am really not feeling good with the sickness and dizziness which really prohibits you from exercising
Well winter camp sounds fun but not if you are in the snow and really cold weather- I want the cold weather to end and take all the snow with it
Winter camp was bruttle. There was snow and the temps were very cold. Plus, for the first two dasy there was like 60 kids and only 5 foreign teachers and 3 staff members. It was kind of crazy. Lots of last minute stupid changes from our boss kept all of us not very happy. However, the kids had fun and its over and done with. I got a TON of exercise while I was there though. The hills were crazy as were the amount of stairs. Every meal time I had to walk up 3 long flights of stairs and one big hill. Also in the evenings, we had to walk up a massive hill to get back to the hotel rooms for the kids; and on the last night we hired a dj to play music and games with all the kids and I danced around and acted goofy with all of my team of kids. I had a blast but I know I busted my butt sweating so much.
So, I took a peak at the scale this morning...and let's just say, I have two more days until my official weigh in day but right now its looking like I have made a huge jump for my weight loss this week and that maybe I'm going to be starting a downward trend FINALLY!!!!
Shan84 that is great that you got to get in alot of exercise- sorry about all the changes made for camp -
Stay OP and you will get to post that weight loss - whoo hooo
I had my weigh in today and YIPEEE I finally lost 4.4 pounds but I have stayed OP all week long and not a morsel off, I know what I have to do it is just doing it...
I've been MIA lately. Lots going on here. Yesterday was my birthday and hubby took me to the fair and to Chipotle to eat after. Today I am taking DS to a friend's bday party then coming home to go to our friend/neighbor's cookout since it's his birthday today. It's been crazy busy here... Lol
I did manage to remember to weigh in today...even I'm unofficial now. Was happy to see only a .4 lb gain this week considering we ate out at applebees Friday night then ate at Chipotle last night and I had half a funnel cake too
Well, I stayed OP this weekend and this morning I posted my results. This week I officially lost 8lbs!!!! So glad to see my number dropping again, though I do think that is too much for me to lose in one week. But, I'm hoping to keep going strong here back home with my exercise and food intake. Still working the Biggest Loser program!
I am pulling myself from the official challenge. With me only being 10lbs from goal, I'm not really losing in a steady fashion, just jumping up and down, and I don't want my fluctuations to affect the team. I'll still be here in every other way, I just won't be including my weight in the challenge anymore.
It looks like the BL show actually runs until April 27th, not April 4th. How do you all feel about extending the challenge until the end of the show?
Also, is anyone interested in being a team leader in the future? I'm moving more toward maintenance mode this year, so I'm looking for a replacement for Red Team leader. The next challenge will be the summer challenge.
extension sounds good to me as well. I'm flexible.
Shan- 8 lbs!! INCREDIBLE JET-after I asked I went -DOH!- JET is the Japan exchange teaching program. Allows young adults to travel to Japan & help teach English. I was just curious how you got to Korea, how long you've been there, how long you'll stay etc. I think I told you I spent 2 years in Tokyo with my dh. He was doing science research as a post-doc. I started out doing science research & then ended up teaching english to young adults. Worked at an English camp in the summer for elementary school kids too. Enquiring minds want to know.
Monte- good luck as you head into maintenance & thanks for being team red's leader!
Mel- I originally came to South Korea working at a private academy. The school went under after the boss committed suicide, so I moved to an island off of the south coast of Korea and have been here ever since. I've been in Korea now for a little over one year.
I originally came here because I didn't want to teach in the U.S. which probably stems from the horrid student teaching positions I endured for six months. So I decided I was up for a change of scenery so I made the leap of faith that God had other things planned for me.
I plan on being in South Korea for upwards of ten years at least. I'm in a serious relationship with a wonderful man here and we are thinking about marriage in the next year or two. Even if for some reason our relationship would not work out (hopefully that will never be the case though), then I would probably still choose to stay in South Korea for a few more years teaching. I like the culture (somedays), and I like it better here than in the states right now. The only downside is it keeps me away from my family, but even as a high school student and college student I was always a drifter. I have a hard time staying still in one place. Korea is good for me in that your job changes every year unless the school offers to renew your contract.
That's all for me book for now. Thanks for asking about it though. Brought back a lot of memories.
