Good Morning Blue Team. I was up early this morning to finish packing DS's lunch (too tired last night) and stayed up. I had an enchilada casserole in the oven ready for lunch by 8:30 am and have cleaned up the kitchen as much as I could with limited cupboard space.

Dixied, sorry about your dryer but so wonderful about your weight. I use a clothesline during warm weather but I don't like line dried clothes either. I try to get out the towels and sheets but DH always beats me to the dryer and hangs out the clothes and he's not too careful how they're hung. Lop-sided t-shirts are the norm in the summer.

I did a pre-weigh in this morning and I've got 2 pounds lost so far. Hope that hangs on until Saturday morning for my regular WI. I'm still not exercising as regularly as I'd like but I've been on a baking marathon for DS's wedding in July and have been so tired after standing most of the day rolling pastry and the like.

Today I take mom to the doctor to get her meds renewed. We'll probably take a short trip to the grocery stores as they both have complimentary wheel chairs. Mom is 92 but still enjoys a shopping spree. Tomorrow we go on our bi-weekly trip to town with our friend who helps with the wheel chair and such. So I might not get back until tomorrow night but who can tell what happens when I hear the siren call of 3FC.

Dixied, sorry about your dryer. We came home Monday to a flooded kitchen. A part in the fridge had broken and now we're going to have to replace at least part of the laminate flooring as it's bubbled up and warped!

but, on the upside I lost 2 pounds since the 17th so that's something.

OT, does anyone here make their own yogurt or bread?

I finally woke up to see something under 235. I was starting to get a little concerned. I started wogging a few weeks ago and have a horrible tendency whenever I start exercising to eat back all my calories. I have been trying so hard not to and the scale finally caught up. I'll have to do my next few wogs on the treadmill unless I decide to venture out in the rain. Neither option appeals to me at all. I'm loading up the iPod with some new songs though so maybe I can tolerate the treadmill if DH can keep the kids busy.

Hi everyone

Dixie on your loss. Thank you so much for all your time and hard work in setting up the teams, and keeping the challenge going. Very much appreciated. Glad that you have Cindy to work with. The two of you are a great pair.

QOTD my goal is to finish the c25k by the end of this challenge. I am sure that if I can finish this, I should be able to drop about 20 lbs or so.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi wants! This is my first challenge, too.

If you haven't already, go into the Blue Team Weigh-In topic up top and create your weigh-in post by copying and pasting dixied's weekly weigh-in chart. Then each week before the deadline in parenthesis, edit the post to add your weight for that week. The challenge goes for 14 weeks and ends on August 31.

I'm curious (and a little scared, lol!) to see what challenges are in store!

Default Wheweee!

Busy Morning here girls! I have caught up on reading the thread since my last post, doing the multiquote button thing, then I realized, that I can relate to every single post!!!!!

I NEED to stick with/finish a BL challenge (MMavie/Bejeweled)
I would love to be at or under 180! (Practice)
My goal weight overall is the weight that I gave birth at 20years ago! (Instiches)
I want to run a 5k!
My vacation home completely flooded this weekend! (melwolfe)

I get so fired up when I come here and see that we are all just energetic and motivated girls trying to swim out of our bad habits and the consequences of them while we dream about better "us"s and deal with the daily life stuff! We can do it. We are strong, smart and determined! Lets just do it!

Welcome WANTS and TREKKIE! Good to have some new faces!

So when do we get our first challenge?????????? Game on!

I'm definitely with you Nixmom, bring them on! I'm so excited, its my first challenge too and I'm interested it what it will bring.

What is it with everything breaking? Luckily we haven't had any problems, but our neighbor lost all power in her house last night so we have extension cords through the house to keep her fridge running.

Dixie-I hope you can find something for your dryer! Definitely try ebay, maybe even craigslist, there is always random stuff poping up on there.

Now that classes are done I am hoping I will be even better about working out and eating well because I won't have distractions and excuses. I was SO bad during finals week, but we won't talk about that.... To make sure I don't get lazy on the food aspect, I spent all day yesterday preping for meals for the week as well making a big batch of yummy chili so I can freeze it. Plus I used up my CSA fruits and made a big fruit salad to store. It gets so darn hot here that you don't want to go anywhere near the appliances! Any good suggestions for good no or little cook meals?

Gekster crockpot meals are good. They don't really heat up the house and most are all in one meals. Pot roast, potatoes, carrots, onions all in one pot and then freeze the leftovers into individual servings for later. Spaghetti, again, you can make a big batch and freeze into individual servings. Homemade beef stew. Baked potatoes in the microwave.......ok, I'm hungry so am going to go eat lunch.

Wow! I'm gone for a few days and look! You guys started this thread and filled 3 pages! LOL!! Yay, tho! Because I love all the excited posts here. Glad everyone is thrilled we have finally started now! I am too!

Hmm, intro... I'm Selina, I have 3 kids, I'm married to a busy guy so I have my kids mostly here with just me (unless its sports season spring and fall where he coaches each of them for their teams so the baby and I stay home during practices to catch up work), it is going to be summer and I'm determined to stay gone, to parks, etc. and stay active with them all summer, we have a business I do the paperwk for so I stay pretty swamped.

Started the business last season and was so busy had to drop out but stopped to say hi sometime. I missed everyone. Did a TBL here before that, not sure which one, and came in 2nd or 3rd out of our blue team members so felt good about that.

Glad this is starting and I'm going to try very hard to stay in and also do the next one in the fall when the show is going on because I have a lot to lose. Trying to keep myself as at least ONE of the priorities around here. Difficult to see ppl who were on those old challenges with me here on the site AT THEIR GOAL WEIGHT!!! But very inspirational too. They did it. They did these challenges, got to goal and are there now!!! We can do that too!!! It is hard to find time for me, but I'm gonna dang sure try to. Yay me!!! :

Good luck to all of you Blue Bombshells!!! We are gonna kick butt on this challenge!!!

My goal is to stay in til the end, and Lose at least 33 lbs (I know it sounds like alot but I weighed around the same in that one challenge and lost that much so probably will do ok.)-end the challenge at 197, which brings me to 80 lbs lost since my highest weight of 277. If I'm not there, then at the very least I want to see 207 or less. That gives me a 10 lb range. :

Mini goals for challenge are drink more water, move more every day, add in weights to build muscles and keep my food whole and healthy and average 1200 cals a day, sometimes more if I'm really hungry that day. Some days I don't even want 1200. Just hafta see. (I know it's low, but my body doesn't lose if I stay higher. I can go higher but can't be every day.) Once you've lost alot you will also know what to expect your body to do on certain foods, calories, what amount of water you need, when to weigh, what salt will do to you, etc. It's interesting to learn about yourself. It's a study of YOU.

My doc recently has me on low thyroid meds. I didn't even ask her to check that. Just wanted to be sure I'm not pre-diabetic last time I was there, she did some tests and found it low. So she is testing this dosage to see if it helps. Have to go back soon to see if she needs to up it. Hope it doesn't affect me in a bad way while trying to lose. Don't really expect it to help much bc its a low low dose now. We'll see.

Hugs to each of you newbies and to all returning teammates!!! So good to see you all.

Be back later today I'm sure, Selina

Hey there everyone! I hope everyone is having a great day!

Here's a funny story:
It was raining on Monday night when I wanted to go out walking, so I thought I would jump on my cheap-O treadmill (I got this for about $200 at Target about 9 years ago) and do a half hour while listening to my ipod.... I went about 15 minutes and BAM! I heard something that sounded like a big bang and some smoke came out of it and it died!

I rarely use the stupid thing because it's been in storage for a couple of years and after about 15 minutes everytime, I would smell a burning smell and would quit. LOL So I've just been walking/jogging outside instead.

Guess I'll be making a trip to the dump soon!

~Suzie...who wishes she could afford to buy a new one! I guess I'll just have to resort to doing it the old fashioned way!

Hi everyone!
How's everyone doing so far?
I know it's just started, but I'm curious.
I have to study for my Psychology final which is next week, and my History, Lit, and Algebra finals which are the week after next, so I'm kinda busy. Plus I'm getting depressed that most of my friends are graduating next week, so I have to take extra caution on overeating.
BUT! I have discovered that my treadmill has a nice bookstand that I can use to read my notes and stuff while walking, so I'm still getting a good workout in. All the stress about my finals and such keeps my mind off the fact that I walked 4.2 miles, so I guess that's good.

I had to get on the treadmill today due to the stupid rain. I am way to wimpy to run in 50* rain. Bah. At least it is finally over and done with for today. I'll probably end up on there for the next week or so as we are expected to have rain 6/7 days.

Food is perfectly on plan for today.

DH is still out of work after being laid off last week. The kids are driving me absolutely nuts being cooped up in the house. I think I'm gonna go sneak the stretchy bands into the bathroom and do a little something while everyone thinks I am getting ready to shower.

What are you doing to stay on plan today???

Today is going good. I have eaten totally on plan but I have been having indigestion for about 4 days now. I took some pepcid when I got home from work but my chest is burning. I have been drinking some cran-tangerine juice ( I do 16 oz of water and 4 oz of juice about 3 times a day). I think that might be the culprit. I don't know if I will be eating anymore today, hopefully this pill will work quickly.

What are you doing to stay on plan today??? Writing down what I eat and working out tonite at 6.
