And yet, there was VERY little loss this week.

I think I'm kind of in the same boat as you. The scale has come to a screeching halt and yet I'm seeing a loss in inches. I haven't ever measured myself but I can tell that my clothes are getting looser and my bulging belly is getting flatter.

I know that I haven't been as conscious of my eating and I've been cutting myself slack far too often but it's discouraging not to see the scale moving at all. I'm going to really push myself hard this week to lose at least one pound so I can get out of this plateau funk.

I've been using my Garmin this week and I totally love it. I had a super run this morning and I really pushed myself hard. It was neat to plug the Garmin in after and see the readout of my heart rate. I made it up to 184 (94% of my max) and maintained it for a bit. I thought I was going to hurl by the time I finally stopped! That the sign of a good run, right? ;)

Rhonda -

Tkglenn - I hope that your DH takes what you've said into consideration. Good for you that you spoke up!

Kim-where did u get that child carrier in your avatar? I need one for my 11 month old when i go to vegas. I'll be traveling with my 4 kids by myself and my daughter just got potty trained and it'll be hard for me to be putting her on the toilet while carrying my 11 month old.

Amarie2pt0 06-30-2008 04:05 PM

Kim - I love your avatar pic - you are such a beautiful mommy!

Goodness, almost everyone has real pics of themselves as avatars - I'm just too shy!!! I got close with the pic of my eye once, but that made me feel all akward and exposed, and I changed it. Am I the only one that feels this way?

tkglenn 06-30-2008 04:07 PM

Me-I think u should use one anyways. I like to see the faces of the people I'm talking to. I imagine people and what they look like if i don't see a pic of them. Hahaha.

Amarie2pt0 06-30-2008 04:20 PM

Thanks Tawnya - I'll try to work up my courage!!! Well, that and find a picture of me where I don't look too scary!

BTW everyone - I put in a request to the powers that be for a user-name change. If they ok it I'll go from Me_Amarie to Amarie2pt0 - not too different, but I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I'm still me ;)

tkglenn 06-30-2008 04:20 PM

Ok, I'm sitting here listening to my son. He told me that he is packing up his stuff and leaving. He's only 5 years old.... He is packing all his cars and walks out the door. Leaves for about 30 seconds and decides to come back in and is now unpacking everything. Maybe the heat got to him!!!!

Amarie2pt0 06-30-2008 04:39 PM

Yay - its the new me... I can't decide if I've been rebooted or upgraded ;)

And you are going to ruin all this work by getting knocked up!!!? ;)

I just did my push ups (column two this week!!) and my crunches. I was not planning to do anything else today but enjoy my clean house and the lovely weather. However, I bet I have to do 3-4 miles of walking to get the troll to sleep. GEEZ! I hate having toddlers during DST.

1. People just aren't logging their exercise
2. People just aren't exercising

.

Count me in for #2. I just don't know where my time is going! I'm trying to keep up with pushups, squats etc at least, so my muscles don't totally atrophy. But the cardio has suffered. I'm trying to walk more in my day to day life, but that probably comes to 3 miles tops on a day when I walk A LOT, which is probably only once a week. I know this is why my WL has stalled (and perhaps I'm creeping back up a bit, though I hate to admit it.)
I'm so good about monitoring my food (usually), I know I can add more exercise!

I'm with you-- I used to have a picture of myself, but then I got all paranoid and replaced it with gromit!

Whew! I'm back. I've been MIA for a week now. Just busy. I wasn't on staycation like sportmom or camping like kimprobable or I can't remember where you were Dora...but just busy. I just wanted to sleep. I did post a gain but TOM is here. No exercise to speak of but need to drink more water and make healthier choices. Eating intuitively doesn't mean going crazy. Still no bingeing even though I have been close.

Some personals....

Rhonda--I fight myself everyday..every moment. I am so not motivated right now but as you have said many times... I will never give up.

Jennifer--Great job on donating your hair to Locks of Love. Many of my friends have done it and it is such a simple and easy way to give back.

Kelly--As stated above I have not been exercising one bit. Gotta get on it though because that 10K will be here before I know it.

Tkglenn--LOL about your 5 year old.

Congrats on all of the losses, breaking through plateaus, and remaining on plan.

Finally got my stimulus check. I desparately need to go clothes shopping. I am not looking forward to it. I hate trying on clothes and being disappointed. I also have to remember that they cut clothes so much smaller today. I've bought some underwear. I will buy some more. I also need to buy bras.

I am so into the Olympic Trials and Wimbledon right now. Maybe that will motivate me because the people are so fit. I've always loved watching sports. Okay you can tell I haven't been on here in awhile. Now I'm just babbling.

Hi gals!

I didn't have a good week, but I do have some exciting news - I joined a new gym yesterday! I think this will give me just the boost I need to keep things going! Lots of new equipment to check out, and many more new exercises to work into my program. I can't wait to spend more time there!

The carrier is called an Ergo. I bought mine from my friends' business but I've also been told you can buy them off of E-bay. It's one of the best investments I've made and it's so incredibly comfortable even with a toddler.

Thanks! :o I finally have a picture of myself that doesn't make me cringe and it's rather ironic since I'm sun-burned, without makeup, and covered in camping grunge!

You bet your socks I am! The baby fever is hitting hard I tell you. Now the race is to see how much weight I can drop before TTC.

I forgot to do my pushups today. Crap. But I did fit into a skirt I haven't worn since before getting pregnant with DD!! The inches are going. Now the pounds just need to follow.
