Amy- congrats that is a HUGE loss! We are very proud of you.

As for myself I am thinking I have to use a freebie, which I really DON'T want to do. If I don't get a good weigh in tomorrow, that's what I'll have to do. Weird but it looks like I gained over 2 lbs! Monday was a great weigh in, but that's so far from today, I don't want to use that. =(
Very disappointed in myself for not working harder this week. I guess I just can't maintain, it's either lose or gain, weird I know. Back to calorie counting starting today. AHHH!

I am jealous, but very happy for you!! You must be thrilled!

I decided to get serious about adding distance to my runs again. I made an AWESOME-Van Halen-based playlist to take out this morning. What happened? Rain, lightning, nothing saying, "Hey, get up and run." Though it did make a good morning for snuggling in bed!

In other good news, I just looked at photos from a party M went to last weekend. My first thought was, "I'm not fat!" It may have been a flattering angle, but I have not seen a photo that did not make me want to vom in a long time. I showed DH, "Look! I'm not fat." He says he already knew that and hasn't been saying it just to be nice. What a great motivation to stay OP and drag myself out in the rain to run!

Amy, that is awesome!!! Congratulations girl, you deserve it. Way to go for sticking to it thru the plateau!

Nori71 06-28-2008 01:11 PM

WTG Amy! You must be so happy to bust that plateau.

Congrats on seeing yourself the way you are, Anna!! That's awesome!

It's a gorgeous day here today. Supposed to hit 90's. Will be out in it for as long as possible.

Hi Blue Team:

Just finished helping dh steel wool and put the last coat of varnish on the cabinets. Last night, around 9pm, I harvested all the garlic. Wow, they are beautiful. DH is also working to repair my elliptical, so I hope to get started on that soon. I'm going to wait one more day to weigh to see if I can get to a full pound. Right now it's just .6.

Amy - what an awesome loss. You just might make us winners of the week again. Whoo-hoo.:woohoo:

Anna - How satisfying to see yourself as "not fat". Can't wait for the day.:carrot:

Nori - I'm thinking I will incorporate the core exercises using the ball. BTW, do you know how exercise balls are inflated? I tried to get the end off, but it was so difficult, I thought I might damage it. Thanks for sharing your routines, I'll look up what I can and ask questions as needed so as not to be bugging you. Thanks again.

Kelly - I hadn't realized how far you have come in your weight loss journey. You have done an impressive job!!! You are an inspiration, hope we can at least be boosters when you need it. You and Nori also make me jealous in that you are in smaller clothes than I am, but I weigh less:p

Tawny - glad you found the letters useful. Hope to be hearing good news from you on that soon.:goodluck:

Jennifer - you look as cute as ever with your shorter hair. I expected much shorter, so you must've still had quite a bit of length. Lookin' good!;)

Kim - like your new avi too, you look so wholesome . . . cute.

Angie - I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering where you'd gone, good to see you back!

Wow is it hot out there! I feel flushed so I came in to finish this post. Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Dora

Anna that is great photos are nasty and show everything that can be hidden in the mirror.. i wonder why we see ourselves differently in the mirror . Some see themselves as bigger others see themselves as smaller.. its on a photo that can show the truth..

Jennifer i love the hair too its looks fab

Im getting antsy.. i dont have my elliptical and the treadmill is still in kmart on layby .. yesterday i did aerobics but its just no where near as good as the elliptical for a workout .. sure i was sweating but it took me like 20 minutesa to start sweating.. where on the elliptical i do about 10 minutes into it.. So im gonna go and pick up the treamill this week .. i was only waiting for the next pay to come in .. We get it tuesday night so wednesday im gonna go and get it . I hope i can fit it in the car . i have a hatchback and my back seats can fold down so .. im keeping my fingers crossed .

I think the treadmill is gonna hand me my azz on a plate lol but at least it will be a good workout..

Great job Amy! That is fantastic!

Hi all - back to calorie counting, went only 40 calories over my 1725 (estimated goal to lose 1.5 lbs a week), so if I stay like this all week I can hope for a nice 1.5 lb loss this week. If I am not counting calories I cheat, cheat, cheat. I am all, 'eat less move more' so I am not really eating a lot of diet foods, it is a struggle for me to eat fruits everyday (even though I LOVE THEM - I mean YUMMMMY!). I will have to post on the just beachy food thread the plan for tomorrow (I hate planning food - AH!)

Nori71 06-29-2008 12:59 AM

Amy - I also use the "sweat factor" as an indication as to how "good" the exercise is. Not always true though. I don't sweat profusely with pilates. Not like aerobic activities, but they are also good! Just different.

Vix - I believe that I will join you with getting back to calorie counting. I get so bogged down with it sometimes and then just stop altogether. I get lazy and then wonder why I didn't lose more! DUH.

Am enjoying watermelon immensely tonight!!!!! Is it bad even when a food like this makes me so happy. (I post like I'm plurking on here now! Anyone else notice they do also?)

I agree and when I think about it wholesome and cute describes many of my Canadian friends.:)

Dora-I will let u know how things are going with it. It is literally a lifetime of thanks to you. If I were there I would give you the biggest hug in the world.

Nothing much this weekend. Same as always but it's not gonna stop me. I am extremely bloated. I can't stand it. Oh well, it'll be over in a week. Hopefully!!! Then I can get back on track. Is it possible I can lose 10 pounds in three weeks. I need to at least see the 180's soon. Tired of being stuck at 193. Maybe it's time to change my exercise routine or something. Dont' know. I think I'm gonna make Leo pay for his behavior and make him buy me a stepper. I love step aerobics. It is so much fun. I think I could do it all day long. Love love love it.

tkglenn 06-29-2008 01:14 AM

Kim-where did you get the child carrier thingy in your avatar? I think I need one for when I go to vegas. I will be flying with 4 children by myself and my youngest is 11 months old almost.

Even though I'm over menopause, I still have monthly symptoms. This month, it's the homebody, nesting thing. Cleaning like crazy and tonight, when I usually sit in front of the computer, I was outside on the porch cleaning and braiding my 100+/- newly-harvested garlic!!! Of course I took pictures. This first one shows the braided (Early Italian Purple) on the left and the bunched (Fire) in the 3 bunches to the right. Through the window, you can see my Plurk page on the screen. It is now 12am and I'm calling it a day, or a night, or quits . . . pffft.

i just want to say thanks to everyone for the well wishes on losing them pesky pounds BLUE TEAM RULES !!! lol :)

I just got back from the last party .. the one i was worried about and i knew i would have trouble with.. BUT.. ( adult party not kids party the one yesterday and this morning were kids ones)

i did great i had 1 cup of coffee a cracker with a tiny bit of dip maybe 1/3 teaspoon a cube of cheese and one small slice of kabana.. they offered cake and drink and all the food porn under the sun and i used my daughter as the pawn to say no...

"oh no i cant eat that in front of her its not fair she love cake".. lol.." ( food allergies came in handy for once).

Leah could have the craker and cheese so i had one of both lol. and they accepted that as the answer..

so yeah im pleased got though a busy weekend full of parties and didn't get off plan once .

Dora i love that you can see plurk over the garlic.. thats really funny..

and i love your curly hair in the bottom picture your curls are gorgeous

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I'll regurgitate the textbook info again: "healthy, sustainable weight loss is at a rate of about 1% of your body weight per week." So, at 193 you should only be looking to lose up to 2 pounds per week (10 in 3 weeks would be more than 3 per week). It was not long ago during this very challenge you were complaining about not being able to get into the 190s because you were stuck in the 200s. Now, you're down more than 7 pounds from then! Keep doing what you're doing because it is obviously working, and be patient :^:
