Good morning, or should I say afternoon. :) Well I had a great NSV last night and this morning. DH and I were going to get up at 5 am and work out. Well 5 am rolled around and we didn't do it. So we decided that we would work out last night instead. Well I sure didn't want to work out last night, but I made myself do it! I could feel it in my muscles, but I felt great afterwards. :) Then this morning I stopped at the grocery store and got DS a donut for this morning, well he's too little to eat the whole thing, so I had part of it. So I got on my tredmill and fast walked a mile. Figured I had to work it off. Now in the past I would have just sucked it up and dealt with the extra weight. Not today!!! YAY!!! Hope everyone has a great day! Off to a great start here. :)
DK~ I'm sorry to hear that your cousin has taken a turn for the worse, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Here ya go ladies for last week!

Idealmuse 02-19-2008 03:24 PM

Hi everyone -

Spent the morning looking at swim classes and deciding what to do. It's kinda exciting. I think I'm either going to go for the Danskin Tri or there is a womans one in Naperville IL. If it goes well I'll look at the more challenging ones because I'd like to try an Olympic one. One step at a time though I guess eh? :)

Scale was already down this week I'm a happy camper.

Scenestealer 02-19-2008 03:48 PM

I had a ridiculously light breakfast and lunch - 350 cals total for both. I am exhausted this afternoon, so when my manager said he was going to the smoothie place nearby, I asked him to pick me up a small Acai Energizer - 167 calories, so not really bad. However, he decided to be generous... and get me the large. I already drank half, which is the size of the small... but I am really struggling not to drink more!!! Grr... being generous is not good when I'm dieting.

Hun.e.B 02-19-2008 05:03 PM

Laura...it sounds to me like you are okay even if you drink the whole thing. Your calories for the day are pretty low. What you need to remember is that your body NEEDS fuel. You will not lose fat by not eating, what you'll do is make your body start burning its lean muscle tissue for fuel and hold onto any fat. By not giving your body what it needs just for basic function, what you do is make hormones in your body kick in and work against you. You lower your leptin levels and increase your ghrelin levels which make you feel hungry and lead to binges. So enjoy your smoothy, you've got room in your calories!

Muse...I'm so excited to hear about your triathalon! Congrats on the scale moving too. I'm not sure I could do a triathalon as I'm a doggie paddler when it comes to swimming LOL!

Chellez...thanks for the banner! Sorry about the PM LOL, I did that before I saw you already got em for us!

Kari....Way to go on getting those workouts done!! I'm with you once 5am rolls around there is NO WAY I'm getting out of bed to workout! Excellent work!

Hun.e.B 02-19-2008 05:11 PM

Cecelia...congrats on being BL this week!! I hope we see you around here more often! I'm usually pretty bad on the weekends too, but thankfully we've got an entire week to get on the right track before our next scheduled deadline!

Jen... How's everything going? I hope you had an OP day too!!

DK....I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. Your whole family will be in my thoughts and wishes for healing.

Andi... How's it going?! Are you going to do C25K?

Karen..thats so funny about your dog! Guess he just wants in on the action LOL! My dog insists on sitting right on your feet. She's got the entire floor to lay on but no its gotta be right where your feet are. Drives me nuts! LOL!

Mom23BC...I think all the signs are pointing that you need to do this 3Day, I even saw a commercial for it last night and thought of you. I think that next year I might do one if they have it in Arizona again. Then I can go visit Danielle since she's coming to see me this year! Let us know what you decide!

Tina...excellent job yesterday!!! I think you are right, sometimes just knowing we have support out there and that we are committing to something like OA, it helps us make good choices!

Hun.e.B 02-19-2008 05:16 PM

Sheesh, cant believe how far behind I got on posts LOL!

Melissa....Yay Vacation!!! I so wanted to sleep in again this morning. Going back after a long weekend is hard! I am so incredibly impressed that you were able to move onto Week 4!! Way to go! I think I should have started Week 5 now...NO WAY! LOL! You are just rockin it and such an inspiration!! Keep up the GREAT work!

Danielle...when you are ready to take that step towards exercise I know you will. maybe you just need to take babysteps. I just dont think its a good idea to do it if there is any anxiety or ill wishes about it, because then you wont stick to it. it'll come, I know it will! Excellent buys yesterday! I need a new duvet cover, ours is so heavy! So jealous of your shopping! LOL!

Terapet...excellent job staying OP!! How long with dd be gone?

Sugar-N-Spice 02-19-2008 06:25 PM

Good Evening Ladies. It looks like it was another productive day around here, good to see your boo-t-ful faces. :)

DK, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. Keeping you & your family in my prayers.

Jen, wow you have some fighters in your family, don't you! I do not know anyone with breast cancer at all, I consider myself to be very lucky. Hope your day went well!

Mom23BC, I'm excited to hear you talk about considering the 3day. I would love to do it and am definitely keeping it in the forefront of things on my list of "things to do". I'm hoping one of these years I can convince Melissa that YES she wants to do it with me. lol Like I told Jen above, I don't have or no anyone who has been afflicted with cancer but feel very inspired to do this walk for the many who do have it touch their lives.

Tina, hope the bookfair was fun. I love helping out with that at my kids school. Down comforters are 'mandatory' in our house. ;)

Melissa73, yeah 4:30 is not my cup 'o' tea either but I guess as parents we do what we gotta do, eh? It helps pays the bills and actually, I do have alot of fun with the ladies I work with so it's all good in the end. Hope you're enjoying that vacation!

Kari, WTG on getting that workout in! Definitely making some positive changes in your life, go you!

Cecilia, hope you enjoy dinner out with bf. I wouldn't worry too much about being up right now, the scale is an evil little thing, ain't he?

Laura, got some great advice from Mel. I, for one, hope you sucked down that thing and enjoyed every last bit! :D

Muse, cannot wait to hear what you decide to do, soooo exciting!!!!

Karen, I had a good giggle reading about your doggy wanting to help ya workout! :D Too cute!

Mel, hope today was another great OP day for ya! Yes, I wish you were here with me to shop for sure! Can you imagine the damage! :p I am LOVING my new bedding, it even made me smile when I came home this afternoon and I walked in and saw it. hee... I know what you mean about doing the exercise when I'm ready. My thinking lately is tho, and I question heavily is am I just making more excuses. KWIM? It needs to get done and some days it feels like I'm taking the easy route, if that makes sense. Ugh, just cut my head off will ya, too much thinking gets in the way! lol

Alrighty, well I had hoped to be able to hang out a bit longer but DD is waiting patiently for the computer to do some homework, so guess I better scoot! Have a great evening and I hope everyone will take Mel up on the great challenge she's set up for us, I know I plan on it!!!! Yes, really! I can squat like the best of 'em. :D :D

Holy poop, I missed weigh in. I was gone for a bit, and I totally forgot to put it in before I left. Sorry!

Scale says 197 today - not surprised as I didn't eat too well this weekend and I skipped 4 days of exercising - yes the girl who can't be held back from going o the gym took 4 days off. I paid for it big time today too. Everything was harder and I couldn't run for a crap. So I have learned my lesson. No more than 1 day off at a time!

I am going to try to catch up tonight after the kids go to sleep but I missed you all!!!

CountingDown 02-19-2008 08:27 PM

Whew, - I'm too far behind to do personals, but I did read everyone's posts. Sounds like most everyone is doing well - especially with exercise :D

Congrats Cecil! Way to go!!!!

Let's win back that title this week! We CAN do it!!!!!

Scenestealer 02-19-2008 08:40 PM

I had half the smoothie, which was exactly the small I had wanted. I pushed it to the corner of my desk, filled my 24 oz water bottle, and told myself that I couldn't touch it till I drank my water and THEN decided I still wanted it. And - I didn't want it. I popped it into the freezer just in case it's still good tomorrow, but I don't have high hopes. For dinner, I skipped something fancy in favor of Boston Market. As much as people say fast food is bad, at least it provides the calorie info so I know what I'm eating! I got turkey, veggies, and squash, all of which clocked in at 370 calories.

Right now, I'm at 900 calories for the day. I'm going to be up late working, so I'll prob order a salad or fruit later. I aim for 1400 cals/day, but I zig zag them (not intentionally - more like one day I go out to a business dinner where there aren't healthy choices, so the next day I make an effort to eat on the lighter side). I think I'll be okay if I get about 1200 today because I ate a ton yesterday.

I'm watching TBL right now while I work, and I have to say... I think it's kind of unfair to force your family to diet just because you are. Yes, you want your family to be healthy... but throwing away all the treats and telling your kids they will never be in the house again? If you're not trying to lose weight (and even if you ARE), a once-in-a-while treat is fine. Forbidding that stuff seems extreme to me, and also a bit selfish. What do you all think of that?

Scenestealer 02-19-2008 09:02 PM

I just shoulder pressed (9 pound dumbbells - one in each hand) through a commercial break. I had to switch to bicep curls in the middle for one commercial, but I was back to shoulder presses the rest of the time. I won't bore you with lots more posts, but I'm going to keep trying on the next break to go all the way through (today is my arms day and tomorrow is legs, so I don't want to do the squats today).

I live in a house with 2 skinny people and I Do still buy them their treats but it is VERY hard on me when and if they eat their treats in front of me. If I had my way these things would never enter my front door again. Skinny people don't know and will NEVER know how hard it is for a fat person to resist these things, unless they have been there themselves. So no, IMO it's not unfair or selfish of him at all, especially since the wife also wants to lose and they want to teach their kids to eat healthy and not eat junk. What better time than when they are young? What i thought was unfair as **** was their families having these things around when they all KNOW what they are trying to do. I thought the family and friends were VERY insensitive, but that's JMO.

Cecil congrats on being biggest loser for the week!! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_75.gif I thought you might get a kick out of this...our school districts are closing school tomorrow due to extreme cold... it's supposed to be a high tomorrow of +9 with windchills of possible -20. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_1.gif I was talking to one of my friends that also grew up in MN and she was watching the same channel I was and saw the scroll come across, we both started yelling at the TV in disbelief that they are canceling school for this...dang, I remember walking to high school in -30 - -40 windchill. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_6.gif

Andi18 02-19-2008 10:27 PM

Okay, I did my workout during the show. I went to Boot Camp tonight and worked out with http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_12.gif Marty! I got my hiney whipped into shape. He mixed up the workout tonight so did some different stuff than last time http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_7_9.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_126.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_121.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_122.gif, but started out with spinning http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_35_8.gif again so I'm sure my http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_2.gif will be sore as all get out tomorrow! It's got to start getting better sometime right?!

Oh and Yes, I am going to start the C25K program http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_3_110.gif but I am going to wait until next week, start out fresh day 1 on a Monday!
