  • Try not to be too hard on yourself GirlyGirlS - hope it helps to know that I'm going thru the same thing? We're here and talking about it so that's gotta be a good sign, I think.

Glad to be of some kind of inspiration - my determination to make it to the Workout/b4 PigOut is 'bout the only thing I've got going as a positive onthetee! WTG on signing up for the race!

I'm wondering if knowing I'm going to the WorkOut has made me not have exercise as a priority in the last few days? Just saw fittie08's Moon Miles Post - she's feeling like the only one exercising. Gosh knows I haven't been helping lately.

okokok . . . enuf depression - it's a Family Holiday Week - must just get on with it and make some NEW traditions and positive changes, right?

    Right!

    ttyal!
  • Hope everyone has a good holiday. I'm feeling better but haven't worked out this week. Everytime I give it a go, when I get warmed up I start coughing. But I do keep trying. Talk to ya'll soon.

Tuesdays are my day off b/c DH trains that night, and we just cannot swing it with the two kids. However, I will be at it every other day this week.
  • Hope u all have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Just saying hi and posting today's positive tip.

Think about where you want to get in life. Really plan out your future, and forget about any wrong directions you might have taken in the past. Make a firm decision about your basic objective. Determine exactly what you want to have happen. Take one or two short sentences and sum up what you're looking to achieve in the years ahead. Formulate and write your goal in a sharp, clear statement. Work with a calendar and plan for this year and next year and five years from now and 25 years from now. The more specific you can be, the better your chances of succeeding.
  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING BLUE TEAMMERS!!!!!!

On the bright side I have so much to be thankful for - a healthy family - a good paying job - a relatively happy family & ALL of my 3fc cyber buds!!

Unfortunately my good paying job kept me late so no Work Outb4 I Pig Out . . . but determined not to beat myself up for a change!

All the Best to You & Yours Blue Team!
  • Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American Blue ladies!! My sister-in-law is travelling to Michigan for 'Black Friday' (anyone know why they call it that??).
We all have so much to be thankfull for ...no matter when our holiday falls.
I have been really great with my workouts so far this week, trying to make it a priority ...even with a cold sending me to bed early. I had a bad weekend (food wise) and really want to get back to loosing. So....time to get that Turbo Jam video going before I have to p/u the kids.
Anyone else get some snow today??? We did!! I have had my winter "fix"..summer can come back any time now!!
  • Happy Thanksgiving, American bluezers! I hope you are all giving thanks for the good things in your lives and enjoying your holiday. I sure enjoyed the online sales

Do any of you read Fitness mag? I just got mine for this month, and there's a great 15minute workout feature, including a 6 week calendar of when to do them. I think I might do it and try to make a big push before New Years. If anyone wants to join me, I can probably send you the info.
  • Howdy Blue Sisters~
Well I'm finally feeling great, back to me and dh starts getting sick yesterday His is just his stomach hurts. He's been sleeping most of the time. I'm getting ready to head downstairs to workout. I can finally make it through without having a coughing fit!!
Hope everyone had a good turkey day. I actually did really well and followed the plan I set for myself.
Have a great weekend, I'll check in later.
  • Hi Bluezers!! Hope you've had a great week.

I haven't lost but at least I'm the same at this point in time. 209.0. I have to really get with it asap if I want to hit my goal of 197 for Christmas Eve! It's possible, so that's a good thing. If I can't get there, I'd at least like 199.5! LOL. I think today is day 91, hafta look on my calendar. Almost to 100!!! Yayyy!!! On my way to my first 365!!!

Does this challenge stop on Dec. 3rd or no??

I've been decorating the tree and pulling everything downstairs to get ready to do the yard, etc. Dh has been gone since he woke up, working. I'm soooo tired! I went to bed after 2am on Thanksgiving, baby woke up at 3am to eat and be changed, and had to leave here at 445am to go shop! Talk about tired the next day (And no naps around here, u can't leave them alone for a sec! LOL.) So I have been so out of it lately. But I shopped the whole day, while DH stayed with the kids and did his paperwork, etc. Then that nite we stayed up til 2am wrapping and we are done except for a handful of things like for stockings, etc. The checkout line in Target wrapped around the inside of the store, there were no carts, not even outside bc it was right when it opened and no one was even done shopping yet so I had to push my big boxes of toys along the line as we inched up to the counter, too funny, it was so wild. I got Emily an inchworm to ride and a soft pink baby doll for the new baby, and some toys cell phones for the boys and a scooter, a flying dragonfly thingy, a sit and spin, hooded towels in their fave characters, clothes, a pajama and robe set with slippers for the boys, Emily got a Barbie night gown, so cute, Mr. Furley got some toys that make noise and some new outfits so far.. I love finding things they will like, things they've been asking for all year (and I have said, Ok, we'll need to add that to your list for birthday or Christmas then, right?) Crazy out there, but fun! LOL.

One funny story is when an older lady who didn't look too happy shoved past me in the toy isle and pushed my buggy into the wall to get by me and another girl in a big hurry and grabbed a big stuffed Elmo that was on sale (and there were still tons of them, not like this was the last one). Then she turned, made a huffy sound and stomped back out of the aisle. LOL. Alrighty then!! People by us were laughing about it. I wasn't even in her way. Some people are strange. Ah well, the world needs all kinds.

Anyhoo, glad to be on the last of what I need to do here. Will be glad to finish it all and enjoy it then. Kids are having fun too. Yay!! Loving the leftovers, not having to cook and kids aren't complaining yet. Tons of food still in there.. LOL.

We all seem to be getting sick tho, which is the worse news I have. I hope we don't tho! Uggh!! I hope those of you who are feeling bad get better soon! Only bad thing about this nice cool weather huh?

Ok, I'll be quiet now! Going to finish decorating. Miss you all! Weird not posting much but just no time for it. I'll be glad when Monday is here. The kids are back in school and I can focus on what I need to do here, etc. So much needs attention, the yard, the upstairs, the toyroom, etc.

Well, big hugs, tty soon! Selina
  • Howdy, ladies. Just checking in. I had planned to take my freebie this week, and I did. however, the scales were not as shocking as I thought they would be. Lentils and veggies this week!

It is called Black Friday because it is the day of the year where sales are expected to put retailers in the black. The assumption for many retailers would be that they would not make large profits until the Christmas season.
  • Good morning everyone! I hope all Americans had a great Thanksgiving weekend. I am posting my second freebie this week. I had a feeling last week that I would be taking a freebie this week. With a potluck at work last week, and a 4 day weekend at home with Mom's awesome cooking, I knew there was no chance of losing any weight. I was hoping to just maintain where I was last week. Because I never go home more than twice a year, and I love my Mom's cooking, I decided to be relaxed this weekend and enjoy her food (just in smaller portions than I used to eat). I did eat all of it and enjoyed all of it. I weighed myself yesterday afternoon after returning home and again this morning for my formal weigh-in, and I am up from last Monday. My scale is very weird and can go up and down 2 pounds in one day with water retention and such, and so I'm taking the number from this morning with a grain of salt and getting back on track today. I'm away from Mom's delicious but fatty foods, have my menu planned out for the week, and I'm going shopping after work tonight to get some good stuff to put in the house for the whole week. I have a lot of "events" over the next month like an anniversary dinner, my birthday, company holiday party, and then Christmas. It's going to be a tough holiday season while trying to eat really healthy, but I already decided before Thanksgiving that I was going to allow myself to enjoy these events, taste some of the good foods that come with it, but still keep my portions small. I have been a little frustrated lately because I have been going up and down on the scale around the same few pounds and I can't seem to get below a certain number. I decided finally to just enjoy the events I have this month, not overindulge, and get in some more exercise. I know this is probably bad, but I will be happy to come out of this holiday season maintaining around the same few pounds and then start seriously losing the weight again after Christmas. I have lost 40 pounds to date, and have been pretty serious about it, and I'm just now starting to feel smaller and that I actually HAVE lost weight, so I feel that if I relax a little and enjoy myself at a few events over a month, and maintain around the same few pounds for a little while won't hurt me.

We got our Christmas tree yesterday afternoon and started to decorate it. We didn't get the ornaments on because we had to make a surpise trip to Lowe's later in the evening to get more lights for the tree, and I was too tired after traveling earlier in the morning to get everything else on. I think we'll probably finish the ornaments tonight, and then I'll put out the rest of the decorations. We probably won't put up the lights on the outside of the house until this weekend since we both get home after it is dark. This is our first Christmas in our house, and I'm pretty excited about it. It's nice to finally have a place of my own to decorate and make my own.
  • Good morning, Blues! Whew...one holiday down, two more to go. I love Christmas, but I can't wait until things get back to normal around here and I can concentrate on my weight loss goals. Had a house full of company for Thanksgiving. Also, had a house full of sugary snacks and calorie laden food. My willpower was non-existent and I have a one pound gain for this week. Some of that junk is still in my kitchen. As soon as I'm feeling in-control and strong, I will go in there and throw it all away! My other goals for today: No sugar and plenty of water. Plus, need to plan a menu for the week and go grocery shopping.

The good news is that all of our Christmas lights are up and they look absolutely beautiful! We haven't picked up a tree yet, but that's on the plan for this week. Also, got most of my Christmas shopping finished. Now, just have to find time to wrap it all!

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day!

    Go Blue!
  • Morning Ladies!

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend.. I just don't think it was long enough! Truthfully I think I really want to work from home but I doubt that will ever happen being that I'll be the breadwinner once I graduate.

I haven't started Christmas shopping and dont know if I can this year being that I'll probably have to put alot of money into our house once we find one. I can't put up any decorations cause the cats will eat them all! Oh they are nightmares at Christmas time. Daniel keeps talking about getting an English bulldog and I'm like ummmm thats a 1500 dollar dog.... we can wait until after Santa brings me my treadmill!

Thankfully I maintained this week. I don't think I'm going to lose anything before the end of this challenge. I'm hoping that the next one I'm a little more motivated.
  • Good moring Blue team! Just a quick reminder for y'all to get your weight's posted by deadline tonight. We have exactly 2 weeks left.

I hope you don't mind my butting in but I so wish it didn't have to end, but over in the Lowcarb lifestyle forum, they are starting a month long (I believe) challenge. I am gonna do it with them too. I figure it'll be continued motivation to get me through til January when we do it here again. Here's the weekly chat thread if anyone is interested.

Anywho, I just wanted to share and let yall know.
