  • Hi all! A little about myself . . my name is Liz, I am 24 y/o, and live with my BF in Northern Virginia. I am a legal secretary (which can be **** sometimes) with an intellectual property law firm. I started WW back in April of this year with my BF at a weight of 187.8, am now down to 157 (woo-hoo 30 pounds gone!) (I don't go to meetings, but follow the points plan and eating guides I borrowed from a friend - free is so much better than paying for it!) I have never been a skinny person, but have never gotten as big as I did this past year when I shot up to 187.8. I am determined to lose this weight and change my eating habits, and I love the Biggest Loser! I watched some shows randomly over the past few years but really got into it these past few months watching the reruns on the Style Channel. I am so excited about this challenge and can't wait to see how everyone does! I would definitely be up for some challenges with water and exercise and whatever else we can come up with. Bring it on!!

    1. What would you like us to call you? Liz

    2. What eating plan are you using? WW

    3. What do you do for exercise? WATP, TBL workout DVD, Elliptical, Several weight videos using handweights (whatever looks less painful that day basically)

    4. What is one area you struggle with? Getting enough exercise . . I've been trying to get in at least 4 days a week, but struggle some weeks and only get in two. This is something I want to work on during this challenge.

    5. Tell us something about yourself that you are most proud of...and it cant be kids or family. Hitting my 30 pound mark this weekend - I never thought I would be able to lose 30 pounds when I started WW in April. About 18 more pounds to go!

    6. Where are you from? Grew up in Blacksburg, VA (Go Hokies!), now living in Northern Virginia outside DC

    7. What is your FS4 challenge goal? to get down to 145 pounds. That will be 5 pounds from my goal. Also to exercise more consistently.
  • Hey Chellez.....how about we start a challenge against the red team...I looked in your previous challenges and I think this would be an awesome one. What do you guys think????

Quote: Note: This is just a post so that Melissa can approve the exercise challenge. This is not the official exercise challenge... yet

    Measurements you can use:

20 minutes of continuous exercise = 1 mile
    Pedometers that read milage
    Exercise equipment that read mileage
    Mileage you actually walked/ran

Destinations: (I didn't include international ones because I want us to finish the US part first)

Start in Niagara Falls, ON end in Venice Beach, CA = 7472 miles total

Niagara Falls, ON ---> Statue of Liberty, New York, NY = 307 miles

New York, NY ---> Dorey Park, Allentown, PA = 80 miles

Allentown, PA ---> Hershey, PA = 63 miles

Hershey, PA ---> Colonial Williamsburg, VA = 205 miles

Williamsburg, VA ---> Cape Hatteras, Outer Banks, NC = 153 miles

Outer Banks, NC ---> The Lady & Sons, Savannah, GA = 380 miles

Savannah, GA ---> Disney World, Orlando, FL = 243 miles

Orlando, FL ---> Key West, FL = 279 miles

Key West, FL ---> 6 Flags, Austell, GA = 662 miles

Austell, GA ---> World of Illusions, Gatlinburg, TN = 142 miles

Gatlinburg, TN ---> Grande Ole Opry, Nashville, TN = 186 miles

Nashville, TN ---> Holiday World, Santa Claus, IN = 133 miles

Santa Claus, IN ---> Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH = 320 miles

Sandusky, OH ---> Wisconsin Dells, WI = 390 miles

Wisconsin Dells, WI ---> Mall of America, Bloomington, MN = 193 miles

Bloomington, MN ---> Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, SD = 501 miles

Keystone, SD ---> Yellowstone National Park, WY = 356 miles

Yellowstone, WY ---> Colorado Springs, CO = 495 miles

Colorado Springs, CO ---> Route 66 Stop, Tulsa, OK = 515 miles

Tulsa, OK ---> The Alamo, San Antonio, TX = 474 miles

San Antonio, TX ---> Route 66 Stop, Albequerque, NM = 613 miles

Albequerque, NM ---> Sedona, AZ = 287 miles

Sedona, AZ ---> Grand Canyon, AZ = 88 miles

Grand Canyon, AZ ---> Las Vegas, NV = 169 miles

Las Vegas, NV ---> Venice Beach, Venice, CA = 238 miles

We could do this one of two ways:

Have both teams work on the same route all in one thread or
Have both teams work on the same route but in competition.

Now that everyone's gotten a look at it. Would you rather have both teams work on it together? or have a competition?
I think that mini challenges would get a lot of motivation going!! LET'S GO!!!!!

  • Good morning ladies! Well I made it to the gym this morning, and got in a great workout! I worked on lower body today and then did 45 min. on the ski machine....I think that's what it is. It's not the ellptical, but sorta like it! I don't know I feel like I'm skiing so I call it that! I had to start a little notebook with all your names so I could jot stuff down as I read your posts. I think you'll find it is a bit overwhelming in the beginning trying to keep everyone straight! So, I am super pumped to start this week off right! I am going to aim for good eating all week along with a min. of 5 days of exercise. I seem to be in a plateau with my weight, and I'm hoping to break free of it this week. Today I am going to help with my youngests class! I am looking forward to seeing him in action. He has a pretty bad speech problem, so I want to see how well he interacts with the kids. I have to say though I see a great improvement. I get really down sometimes about it, but I know he will come around and he is getting great therapy at school. It is just so hard watching your baby stuggle with anything! Let's have a kick butt week ladies!

    Have a fantastic Monday everyone!

Woo. So I have to call the court house here in a few minutes and get like 10 copies of my marriage license. That's 25 bucks gone for the week! I'm so horrible... I've been married almost a month and I haven't changed my name legally yet. I'm a little scared to cause I don't want the government to mess up my taxes etc. Not to mention I'm really not used to writing such a short last name. My maiden name was Ferguson now its Wright and I'm really not good at making that look pretty! W's really suck for me. So I'll be spending my lunch break going to get my marriage licenses.

I've been on plan for a few days now and I'm feeling good. I made 2 point chocolate chip biscotti last night and its delish! That's my snack before I head off to school tonight. I'm hoping I get out at a decent time so I'm not eating dinner at like 10 then going to bed. I think the teacher said we get out of our lab at 8:30 so I should be ok.

There's a few VA girls in this challenge (truth is I kind of wanted to put us all on the same team ) I think we are all from a different part of the state too. I'm in the southeast, Liz is in the North and I don't know where likenoother is from (she's on the red team.)

I think we should definately do another mileage and water challenge but I probably won't make them as long this time. They will definately be mini challenges.

Let's do a "Hot by Halloween" Mini Goal for everyone. I notice some of you have Halloween goals already so just let me know what your Hot by Halloween Goal is!

My Hot by Halloween Goal is : 10.5 lbs to lose - 179.50 (trying to say goodbye to the 180s!)

Well I better run. I have a stack of papers to finish before I head out! TTYL
  • Chellez-- I'm in the "W.O.W Halloween Challange", but I can have the same goals for the mini goal. I actually want to lose 19 pounds by Halloween. It's lofty, I know--but that gives me something to work toward!
  • Chelle - Good to see another girl from Virginia (BTW - thank you for putting this whole thing together! You sound like a very busy person and I think it's awesome you take the time to put this together - you rock!) I am getting familiar with the Yorktown area. My BF is from that area, and his parents still live there so we go down there several times a year. He took me around the colonial part of Yorktown last Christmas and it was beautiful. Not a bad place to live.

My Halloween goal is going to be 150. I'm hovering between 157 and 158 right now, and there are 7 1/2 weeks until Halloween from today. My weight loss has been pretty slow lately, about .5 to 1 pound a week, so I'm setting a realistic goal for 150. I can't wait to be in the 140s! It's been years since I was that weight!
