B-scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage
L- pollo loco D - ribs without bbq sauce, broccoli cheese casserole S - fudge fat bomb Went to bed early last night so I didn't work out. I wish I knew why I didn't sleep, but that was an ongoing issue before the diet. Hubby went to a card tournament last night, came home at 7 am and brought me the above breakfast. Awwwwwwwwwww Scale showed 230 this morning but I'm sticking with Sat as my log day, so here's hoping it's still there tomorrow! |
Today:
B-Muffin in a Minute with peanutbutter L-Shrimp scampi with broccoli D-Chicken Cesar Salad S-Kale chips + 1/2 of a tall Breve Latte The MIM filled me for hours, nice change from eggs and meat. Had an interview today (met at Starbucks, couldn't resist getting something) That time of month so the salty kale chips really hit the spot. Looking forward to ordering chicken cesar salad tonight. As for exercise-does cleaning count? lol. Need to start some intentional exercise. Aiming for 80oz of water today. |
L- 8 oz ribeye, steamed broccoli, and grilled asparagus
D - leftover garlic parm wings S - fat bomb Saw Antman. It wasn't that bad and we rather enjoyed it. At at O'Charleys and did a lot of walking. Hope you all have a great weekend! |

JSK77..
I drink Lacroix flavored water.. 0 carbs, 0 sugar.. You gave me an idea to add heavy cream to it.. I remember it being called OWL now that you mention it. |
Yesterday, went with my father and husband to see Jurassic World for the 3rd time LOL (dad's first). Had to sit through the whole movie listening and smelling dad eat popcorn. :( Was not a happy camper....
L-pork ribs and broccoli chicken cheese casserole D - Outback prime rib with grilled lobster tail, house salad, and broccoli Today: B- leftover prime rib (how awesome is that LOL) L- grandmas pork something another and mustard greens cooked southern style - aka bacon grease FTW! D - taco salad Eh, I've lost 7 lbs in a month. While not the extreme weight loss I was hoping for, especially starting a LC diet, I'm not going to worry with it anymore. I am starting to see my collar bones, double chin is going away, and I"m wearing capris I couldn't wear 2 months ago. I also got my first, are you losing weight? comment today, so I'm doing something right I guess. Scale can take a hike. |
Hubby and I went camping over the weekend and I did really well with my eating, I didn't post my foods but wanted to share that since I started atkins on 3/30/15 I've lost 9 1/4"!!! Non-scale victory:carrot:
|
Great job everyone sticking to good eating habits, getting some exercise in and resisting temptations.
Here is today's plan: Breakfast: 2 egg omelet with feta and chicken Black coffee, water Lunch: spinach, cucumber and romaine salad with roasted chicken Dinner: same as lunch, probably Exercise: MUST walk. I have been on a very long trip overseas and walked 8 to 10 miles DAILY. I didn't follow Atkins and indulged in a lot of yummy foods, including sweets. Not only that I didn't put weight on but lost 12 lbs. Well, now I am at home, CANNOT eat what I ate on vacation, must stick to Atkins and need to at least walk 3 miles a day. There is something to be said about exercise (which I HATE), it does help. I LOVE walking though and noticed clothes fitting much better and things getting smaller…. So, walking is the key for my daily exercise. The Fitbit is also a good motivational tool. God help us all reach our final goals and get (for myself) and/or maintain good health! |
FickleHearts-that was me last weekend! Watching Jurassic World with my kids and trying to ignore the smell of the popcorn. Your Outback dinner has me salivating a bit ;)
Skelley-WTG on losing all those inches! I'm going camping with 13 other people in 2weeks, I hope I can do as well as you did Healthy- 8-10mi per day! Wow! I bet you have some really good shoes ;) I've been thinking of getting a Fitbit. How long have you had it? Do you find it easy to use/reliable? As for me...I'm in NJ and the "real feel" is over 100 degrees. Went to the beach today with the kids (not sure what I was thinking, the walk back to the car on the burning sand was literally the most painful experience of my life) The heat has killed my appetite. So far have only had some pork roll, ricotta and raspberries. Need to figure out dinner. |
Howdy JSK77,
I was in Europe visiting many countries, enjoying the sights and refusing to use any type of transportation unless really needed……that's where the 8 to 10 miles a day came from. I bought my fitbit from Costco, the basic one, no heart rate or clock/watch type. I love it: you set the goal in steps/miles per day, it has a series of lights that activate as you reach your personal goal. What I like is the free app where you see your sleep pattern, etc. Super important to measure your stride length for an accurate daily report of reaching your steps/miles goal. By the way, I have no financial gains or any affiliation with whomever makes it. Just my personal experience! My hubby has the fancy one and he loves the heart rate. He is super fit, exercises A LOT daily and likes to check his heart rate. Hope this answers your questions! I am jealous that you get to go to the beach……love to play in the water but can't be in the sun……so shade is my friend, at the beach! I am sorry that you got burnt by walking in the hot sand! Hope you are OK! |
Thanks for the response and the review of the Fitbit. I'm the opposite, I have an allergy to the cold (break out in hives). My feet are fine but my poor sister has blisters on hers-eek!
|
Live on the beach too JSK, but wow it's too hot here to enjoy it. I end up going more in the fall and spring.
I had a Fitbit Force, but they were recalled apparently, so they are sending me a Charge to replace it. Can't wait for it to get here. :) I loved the Force, but quit wearing it for some reason. I would do absurd things, like marching in place, to hit those 10k steps each day. I think this time I'm not going to push so hard. |
B - 6 deviled eggs
L - hot wings D - parmesan herb chicken with steamed broccoli DH lost his job so we're back to the drawing board. Need teachers they say, get a degree to teach they say, oh..... Well we only need certain kind of teachers. History isn't important anymore. Blah. |
Fickle-Sorry to hear about dh's job.I hope he finds a new position soon.
Today is my eldest's 20th birthday. Which means I baked a cake that I will now have to avoid. She also wants Chinese Food for dinner...I was thinking of getting Chicken & Broccoli for myself (not really interested in plain steamed veggies) but have no idea what the carb count would be. Hmmm not sure if it's worth it... (not to mention the major water retention all that sodium will cause) I also took my younger sons for ice cream today...at least the cravings aren't that bad, more of emotional "missing" than a physical craving. Otherwise: B-Flaxbread/MIM with peanutbutter L-Leftover Kielbasa with sauerkraut D-??? |
Food for 7/21/15
B Coffee, no sugar soy milk, stevia Jenny-O lean turkey sausage (1) scrambled eggs Lunch.. Tuna, with mayo , stuffed pimento olives( o carbs) Put tuna in between cucumber slices Snack. Jello Supper.. ate out with friends.. Chinese.. Ordered chicken with broccoli, steamed, with sauce on side. Had about 1 teaspoon of sauce. Snack.. Atkins Mocha Latte Shake Walk.. Cut down to 2 hours last night due to the heat.. Brutal humidity. Beach had no air at all. Wishing you all a great weight loss day. |
I second the emotional missing. At my aunts b-day dinner I wanted the cake simply because it was a family thing to do, not because I really wanted it.
Ended up having fried shrimp for dinner instead of chicken last night. All in all though, still stayed under 20g so I think I'm doing okay. B - scrambled eggs with sausage and cheese L - not really sure yet, possibly left over taco salad D - definitely the chicken dinner I should have ate last night I started checking my blood sugar last night and honestly, not the numbers I was expecting. 177 after dinner, 143 two hours later, and then 123 this morning after fasting. :| I figured on LC for a month they'd be much lower. Went to the health department and was told for my weight and condition that I was overreacting. I'm just like, I'm not eating hardly any sugar at all or carbs. How do those numbers make sense? |
Monday was my 71st birthday and I celebrated with family at the Outback Steak House. I had the bone in 22 oz rib eye with 1/2 cup steamed broccoli. I passed up the complimentary birthday ice cream they offer but I was tempted. My Atkins carb intake was on plan at 13 grams but my calorie count was 400 too much. So yesterday I cut my calories to 850 which is 650 under my goal and my carb count was ZERO just to balance things out from Monday. Today I should be back to normal.
The scale rewarded me today with a 2 lb loss. YES!! :D:carrot::D |

I mean, he's my only granddad left and it's a super special occasion. :D One piece won't like totally derail me? I hope I hope..... Happy late b-day Larry! |

Grats Larry!
Welcome Big Daddy! B- coffee with splenda, trying to IF today just to see if anything changes L- fish with cabbage (fried mullet, it's a Gulf coast thing, but my grandma lightly mills them before frying so I'm hoping if I eat no other carbs today it won't be too bad) D - left over chuck roast or chicken parm wings, still up for debate and laziness Maybe finally tonight I can get back to my walk. Dogs are getting pretty tee'd off LOL. |
Atkins Induction Day 94
It has been a challenge to find new and creative ways to increase my fat intake. I have been on low fat diets for so many years that I have had to totally change my thinking.
I tried something new for breakfast. Last night I cooked a hamburger steak and I saved the fat that was in the pan. I suppose it would be called unrendered beef tallow. I scrambled three eggs in the tallow and the eggs soaked all of it up. I must say they were some of the best tasting eggs that I ever had. Now I am looking into using non hydrogenated lard in my cooking as well as beef tallow. This opens new possibilities :D:D |

This week I had a good loss and I'm thinking it may be because I varied my carb count. I ate between 23-28 carbs every day but yesterday I ate 13. I'm going to do it again this week and see if I get another loss.
As for food: B: Atkins shake plus a few slices of chicken cold cuts (was in a rush) L: Shrimp Scampi with broccoli D: nothing yet- my microwave blew a fuse 2hrs ago so I think I'll just have eggs S: 1oz chipotle peanuts Coffee with heavy cream I also did 45min of exercise today. |
It's my favorite fish! Most places consider it a trash fish, but they don't know what they are missing. I have family in Jacksonville that catch them that way occasionally. I ended up not even eating the skin, she'd fried them slightly too hard and cleaned them wrong LOL. So I think I actually managed to avoid much of the corn mill.
Still, only carbs for the day really, so I feel okay about it. They are also really good smoked, but grandma didn't have a smoker. |
You peeps are kinda quiet lately.....
L-chicken/shrimp teriyaki with veggies D - 7 oz ribeye, broccoli, and summer squash Down to 229 today! Yep, makes sense. I will FINALLY start losing now that I have a planned b-day party coming up. GRRRRRRRRRR |
Food for 7/25/15

Atkins Induction Day 96
A good day today.
Lunch Fat, beef tallow, 1 tbsp Walmart - Beef Chuck Roast, 7 oz Dinner Sunny Meadow - Jumbo Egg, 3 egg Great Value - Sweet Cream Butter Unsalted, 2 tbsp(s) Hannaford - Real Mayonaise, 2 Tbsp Snacks Radishes - Raw, 15 large (1" to 1-1/4" dia) TOTAL: 1,262 Calories, 5g Carbs, 108g Fat, 62g Protein Goal: 1,500 Calories, 19g Carbs, 117g Fat, 94g Protein |
Yesterday I had party to celebrate hubby's 40th and my daughter's 20th birthdays...
B-Chia custard L & D-sausage and peppers, 1/4 of an Italian sub (no bread) Plus: 5 Doritos, 3 pieces of Penne, 1 bite of ice cream cake and 7oz of Muscato The scale was up a pound today. Not surprised. My plan is to drink 100oz of water, exercise and keep my carbs at 20 or lower. |
Not sure on food today really.
So far my plan is: B-5 deviled eggs L - leftover roast and squash D - parmesan chicken wings if the hubby heads that way. So TOM is here and this month I am not that bloated so far! Scale is still showing 229, so I'm rather ecstatic. My plan for my Biloxi trip is to stay on track and just have a piece of cake on Friday. We're doing the buffet at the Beau Rivage, so I should be able to stick to LC pretty easily. I think the hubby is going to go a little nuts, but that's okay. I am not getting back to the 220's again to screw it all up now! I seem to get down to 227 and then quit for some dumb reason or another. NOT THIS TIME! |
FickleHearts-congratulations on getting to the 220s!
I could really relate to your saying you always stopped around the same point, and shy of your goal. I do the same. Once I get to a certain weight, I start to feel like this is good enough (and forget how horrible I felt 40lbs heavier) and start backsliding... |
Well ended up having bbq wings for dinner last night. I didn't eat any carbs up to that point save for a few veggies at lunch, which ended up being pollo loco again. I didn't go over 20g, I just don't like eating my carbs up with sugar. :|
Anywho - L - deviled eggs, coffee with sugar free creamer. D - Taco Pie Can't wait till Thurs! |
B-Atkins bar (I was running late)
L- Tuna salad D-Shrimp and broccoli 100oz of water Coffee with cream |
| All times are GMT -4. The time now is 11:50 PM. |
