Annie.....Induction is the first phase of Atkins. Basically, its 20 carbs per day of foods on the acceptable foods list only. Mainly meats, veggies, salads, eggs, cheese.
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, I'd suggest you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution which explains exactly how & why this plan works

Hey Guys,
So I'm a 21 year old college student and at the end of my freshman year I weighed 205 lb. I decided to lose weight and over the course of two years am now down to 165. However, I never reached my goal and sort of gave up. I committed to losing the rest of the weight (goal of 140) about 4 weeks ago. I have been limiting calorie intake, eating lots of protein, and working out consistently 4-5 times per week. I lost 4 pounds the first week but have not lost ANYTHING since then! Any idea why this would be? I need help - I'm getting discouraged! I don't think Atkins is much of an option for me b/c I'm vegetarian...

Believe it or not, there are vegetarian's that have done Atkins. I guess it would depend on what exactly you do & don't eat, concentrating on low carb veggies, salad etc.
