Default Calorie Counters Keep it Simple in June

It's all about calories in and calories out. We just try to have a deficit each day. We're learning to tweak our food healthier and make our deficits sturdier through exercise. And everyone is welcome!

I think I've got it Rebeca! If you put in that your lifestyle uses x cals, you then cannot put in things like dressing, bathing ... it's like double dipping. Do you go out to work everyday?

Ohhhh, I see....

Let me go ahead and erase all that...

Yes I do work everyday! From M-F my regular job, and weekends my family business!

That's right, Rebeca. See I only work a couple of days a week and it's physical so I add that, exercise and weights ... that's all. I don't remember what my lifestyle is set at. I'll have a look at yours and mine and be back.

And how much did you lose? Sometimes you can figure backwards.

And about the healthy .... I love nutrition! It's fascinating!

Its facinating but very tempting too... bad food tastes so good sometimes lol...

Only sometimes? I think I could live on extra-cheesy pizza (stuffed crust, of course), cheesecake, glazed donuts (maybe even with frosting and sprinkles), and white chocolate candy (mmm...white chocolate peanut butter cups...)

Anyway, back to reality...I'm back to tracking my calories. I'm trying to stay below 2000 every day and around or below 1600 at least a couple days each week. I'm also gradually increasing my activity--I haven't been intentionally working out, per se, but I have, for example, been going to the mall after work instead of home to nap And I park on the opposite end from the store I want to go to most, so I know I have to walk all the way across the mall. It's minor things like that, but I hope they add up--every little bit helps, right? Every calorie burned is one more 3500th of a pound

Looks like it's just been the 2 of you in here so far--hope I'm not crashing your party

Good afternoon .

I've been absent from the boards for a few weeks, been very busy. I'm still counting the calories though and life has calmed down some so I'm hoping to get back to posting and being accountable with you ladies.

I ran my first 5k race on Memorial Day, finished it in 37 minutes which I was thrilled with as I was aiming for anything under 40 mins. I came 620th out of 878 lol. I've got pics at home so will get round to posting some this week. It was super hot though, 82 at 9am!

I'll start my deficit tomorrow as I didn't track yesterday. I see some of the old faces on the May thread and here so hello to the new ones I don't know yet.

Hi Kim, if you KNOW for absolutely certain that 18-2000 cals is less than you normally eat ... it's a great place to start.

And welcome to our thread!
