Default 6lbs over the weekend?!

Please tell me this is not possible...

I went to Tampa over the weekend to visit a friend and although I was not horrible I definitely could have ate a LOT better. So as of this morning the scale says that I am weighing 6lbs heavier than Friday. I know a bulk of it is probably water weight but 6 lbs just seems like a lot!

You answered the question yourself--it's probably mostly water weight. I recently lost 8.5 pounds of water weight in 3 days due to TOM, so just drink drink drink that water and give it a few days to flush out of your system Maybe you gained a pound or even 2 if you ate REALLY badly, but not 6

Hi Nevaeh,

I Have Had A Similiar Problem. Its Really Very Discourraging Isnt It.
I Have Been Doing Atkins Again And Beeing Strict But Seeing No Loss In Two Weeks Then All Of A Sudden I Started To Gain. I'm Wondering If Maybe I Should Move To South Beach, Maybe My Body Isnt So Happy With All The Fats Involved, Any One Got Any Ideas. Also How Much Do You Typically Gain During That Time Of The Month? That Could Be Part Of It Huh?

I just lost 8 lbs in two days after gaining NINE due to PMS-induced bingeing and water weight. I'm assuming 8 of those pounds WERE water weight and only one was due to the bingeing. It didn't help that I binged on salt-laden foods either. Unless you consumed 21,000 calories during the weekend, that weight is water retention. That's how I always look at it.

For me, anyway, sometimes it takes a couple of days of lots of water and watching my eats to get it back down--doesn't go away overnight

And Harpo is right--actually, in order to gain all that 6 pounds of fat, you would have to eat 21,000 calories more than you burn, so if your body burns, say, 1800 calories a day, you would actually have to have eaten 26,400 calories in just those 3 days

Haha, you are more brave than I am. I did really, really bad last week too. And I decided not to depress myself on the scale this week. So I skipped one week and hope to get on track for next week weight in.

Thank you everyone! Just seeing the scale jump up like that sucks reallyyy bad. I am trying not to weigh myself for a couple of days and drink loads of water so I'm not sure if it's gone or not.. my guess would be no. Thank you ladies!!
