Unhappy OK so why can't I stay on plan during the weekend?????

I am so upset with myself!!!!! Not really upset maybe disappointed. During the week I am so good as far as eating is concerned. On the weekends I seem to get to laxed and just binge. I dont even want to say what I ate this weekend...LOL but I will tell you that as of today I am up 6lbs. I know I know I shouldnt beat myself up so Im coming to you guys EARLY on so that you can kick my butt and help me stay motivated and eat right. THe working out part is cool I am steady with that but on weekends I eat like never before......This past weekend I went over board. Please Please Please let me know what your secret is to staying on plan during weekends. Also do you find it harder to stay on plan during the weekend?

Thanks in advance......

Matilda, I am so with you! Monday to Friday, I am so strict. I almost never go off plan during the week. Friday nights can be trouble if I go out, but I'll still get in at 3am and jump on the treadmill. But on Saturday and Sunday, it's like I can't help myself. I have to eat every thing bad and it has to include cheese and fries....sometimes cheese fries. LOL! I would like to know some tips of staying on plan on the weekend too.

Aw, why not? Wine and chocolate can be an excellent pairing

But seriously, I think (for me anyway) weekends are tougher because it's a psycological thing - just like work. I have my regular routine of things "I have to do" during the week but weekends are for relaxing. Makes it really easy to *relax* my eating too. The only thing that helped me was to stick with planning my meals for the weekends too. Sometimes that means planning in something I wouldn't usually have during the week (say, a martini or a glass of wine ) but it really helps me stay focused. If I've planned that glass of wine, I'm much less likely to say "oh pooh, I've blown it anyway so I might as well have a piece of pie" And, occasionally, I'll leave a *blank* spot in my calories for the day just in case I decide to have a second glass of wine. If I don't have it, I can always add a handful of nuts at the end of the day.

Red face winter is coming...

Weekends are actually easier to me now that is summer. I try to keep myself busy with outside activities. But I make sure my fridge is full of good food, like veggies and fruits. And I try to make delicious healthy meals. If I eat a bit over it will be ok, because they are good for you.
I am worry about the winter, when I will have no way to do anything outside. That will be awful. How stay in and watch movies without eating anything???
I am afraid Iíll put all my hard work at risk Maybe I should just sleep all day long (and night too) LOL...
I also would appreciate some ideas on this...

yoyo: I'm pretty sure you're right. M-Fri, I have set times to do things. I eat breakfast and lunch and snack on something for dinner. But on the weekends, it depends on what time I wake up, where I have to go, who I'm going with, what time I have to cook, where we go eat. There are just so many variables.

Weekends are SO hard. Especially cause i feel like i have a wedding every weekend. I moved my WI day to Saturday so i think that keeps me on plan a little more knowing i cant binge on friday and if its a good weight in the morning i dont want to mess it up

weekends are more difficult for me too....
its only just lately that i have been able to loose during them....
i think its because i am at home, food is more freely avilable....
n i have no real great need to move much....
my attitude changed tho and now i find reasons to move....
and eat less....
give it time you will adjust to it....

Weekends seem to be hard for me too. I think its the unstructured days. I've found its easier to stay OP if I schedule my workout for mid afternoon. That and I PLAN for drinking wine...lol! before I wouldn't plan for it and then it'd be like a surprise that I'm drinking it...duh, I always drink it so why not plan for it. Sure, it cuts into my food calories but I feel like its a worthy trade off for now. I had several bad weekends before I decided, Hey, I'm going to PLAN my badness. I planned for a BBQ, two dinner parties and sunday brunch with the family this weekend and came out with a loss. So it can be done!

Being very active and not sticking around the house helps me stay on plan. If we aren't doing a softball tournament, we usually hit a farmer's market, go shopping, go to the park with our little one, get a sitter and see a movie, or hit a sno-cone shack.

Sunday has always been my killer day.. For me I decided enough was enough and started the binge challenge. I'm now on day 21 and I know how gutted I'd be to admit I'm back to day 1, so the numbers really inspire me to keep bingeing under control... Its definitely not easy but it gets better with time, and soon you learn to control it even on those difficult days.

Why not adjust your plan slightly to allow a little more freedom on the weekend? The adjusted plan could include slightly more exercise on Saturday and Sunday (or Friday and Monday) to allow for the extra food you are going to have. Tuesday nights are bad for me, I drink beer, eat pizza or burgers etc so Tuesday Mornings or Monday evenings I do extra exercise to make up for it. Wednesday I wipe the slate clean with a tough session at the gym.

You shouldn't beat yourself up about especially if you are doing so well during the week!

Oh, weekends are terrible. I stayed on plan for a full week and TOTALLY binged yesterday. I'm so mad at myself.

For me, the problem is that weekends are more social than weekdays. I'm always going out to dinner or to some event where there's off-plan food.
