Good Sunday morning Flowers! God has again provided a beautiful day for us today.

Jean: Oooh you will have to tell us all about this barn, it sounds really cool. Hope the wedding went well.

Maggie: Thanks for the thoughts. I apologize for griping all the time, but I just don't seem to ever get any good news about any of this and I am getting real tired of the run around, you know? Just yesterday I got a letter from my insurer wanting me to schedule an appt for my arm at a clinic TWO HOURS AWAY! I had zero authorizations for office visit and one for a procedure visit so I get they are saying I can't be evaluated by the doctor only a cast put on????? I have to call them Monday and ream them about that because I am not making dh take another day off. I have an appt here and I am going to keep it one way or another!

Well, I was in pain a good portion of the day yesterday then almost passed out in Walmarts so didn't get anything done that I wanted to do so better hit the bricks and get started this morning.

GOOD EVENING MAGNOLIAS

It has been a lovely day. The temp is still 74 degrees at just after 10pm. Got up into the 90's earlier but with low humidity it isn't as bad as it sounds. Just one thing bugging me~ is sick and tired of being FAT. Yep but not sick and tired enough to get an operation or take pills. Gotta do it and I am so tired of it. Guess I just need to get it done with and put it behind me but the road seems so long for some reason today.

FAYE hopefully you can get it all straightened out tomorrow. You can come here and gripe all you want. Gotta get it out and we here do understand. We realize you are going through a lot and will be here to lend what support we are able. Do you still have that Hotmail address you gave me a long time ago? I have sent you some things but never hear back so I was wondering if you changed mail boxes.

Sleep well my cyber friends ~ type at you on the morrow.

Good Evening, Flowers!
I should be heading off to bed but since I slept during most of the ride home from MIL's and then snoozed in front of the TV, I'm not very tired.

Yesterday started out so perfectly but the wedding got rained out of the park setting. We went to the church and entered through the back door because we parked in our "assigned" spot that we use on Sundays. There was no one around and when we got to the front of the church, there was an usher parading back and forth, outside, underneath this HUGE umbrella. I stuck my head out the door and asked where the wedding was to be held and he pointed to a church down the street two blocks. There are three churches there and each was having a wedding -- lots of cars and people! It seems that the church office called the mother of the bride on Friday and said they would have to be out of our church by 5:30 in order for Saturday night church services to be held. I don't know who miscommunicated but know the church was reserved a year in advance so would have thought someone would have been aware there might be a problem with the time element. The bride's father let us know, as we walked in the door, that he was going to let the church office have "what for" on Monday morning. The groom's parents are divorced with his mother remarried and the father bringing his significant other who looked young enough to be his daughter. The ushers didn't know how to usher and sort of meandered in ahead of the guest they were escorting. The bride forgot her flowers as she walked down the aisle so the groom's father left to get them during the ceremony. The best man chomped gum the whole time and two small children fussed and cried -- their mother was one of the attendants. The best part of the ceremony was that the minister stood with his back to us and the bride and groom faced us. Since he didn't know them nor the families, his part was short and to the point. Because of the weather the horse and carriage ride didn't happen. The "barn" was nice and the dinner was delicious; the menu was grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, fresh fruit salad, and rolls. It was nice to be served rather than go through a serving line for a change. I was looking forward to the cake only to find out it was a fake cake and we had pumpkin ice cream roll that the bride's grandmother had made. After we ate, they announced that the dance would be upstairs and the man in charge brought out a step ladder to begin installing support poles around the dinner tables. The musician had all of the music computerized and the computer crashed -- luckily he had a spare computer with him. We didn't stay for the dance; I wore my "funny" shoe because I still can't get a dress shoe on. As we were coming home, the sun was setting and it was the prettiest sunset, orange with wavey pieces of clouds hanging around. It was definitely a wedding where things didn't go as planned. The couple left to honeymoon in Hawaii today.

Maggie -- Thanks for the points finder site; I will check it out.

"Gma" -- I can't imagine why an insurance company wouldn't want you to get the fastest medical care as possible. It has to be so aggravating for you as well as putting up with the pain. I hope you can get this resolved asap!

I am so guess I will head for bed. Have a marvelous Monday, Flowers!

Jean: In short, it is called the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! We have Tricare insurance, which is the offshoot of the old Champus military insurance. We pay premiums and it is run like an HMO, but the problem now, there is some Federal Recovery Law that is in the way where the government has to be assured of repayment when a 3rd party is involved like the restaurant is. Bureaucracy, isn't it grand????? Those poor kids and their wedding. Hopefully they can just look on it an laugh! Pumpkin ice cream roll? Ole granny must have really wanted to try out her recipe on a group!

Maggie: Sent you my e-mail address! We all get the "fat" blues so hang in there, this too shall pass. Like you, I am not going to use "artificial" means to lose weight, but just plug along doing what I know I should do. After all, we don't want to go through the **** again once we lose it and unless we learn to eat properly it will alll come back on, right?

My arm is hurting and that is why I am up so late/early depending upon how you look at it. If I lay in bed and toss, Jack wakes up and then lays and worries about me. Poor man, there is nothing he can do and I know it upsets him when I am not feeling well, but there isn't a lot I can do about it either.

Have a great Monday!

Good Morning, Flowers!
It's a beautiful morning in my neighborhood! The sun is shining brightly and it is a cool 69° -- I love it! Everything was wet when I got up so we must have had a rain shower early this morning. I need to get dressed and run a couple of errands. My contract is due tomorrow so guess I will sign it and drop it off. I also need to stop by the dentist's office to pick up my $8 toothpaste. I hope it does what they claim it will do.

"Gma" -- My dad and stepmom had just switched over to Tricare Insurance when my dad got sick. He was a Lt. Colonel retired from the USAF reserves which gave him rights and privileges of any base, vet hospital, etc. They paid for whatever Medicare didn't cover except for the PET scan, which we knew in advance. Does the restaurant agree that they were negligent or do they claim it was your fault? Trying to iron out insurance claims would drive me ! Good luck!

I need to keep moving. Have a nice day!

Morning ladies!

Jean: I haven't had any contact with the restaurant it is all through the attorney's so I don't know what has happened so far about it. The only reason Tricare knew was it was listed as the reason I was in the hospital and that is where it all started. We haven't had problems except for this. We have had Tricare since January and Jack has used it several times with no issues whatsoever and has had to have referrals for his cardiologist. It all hinges on this stupid recovery law I guess.

Bubs, GLoria, Maggie, hope you day goes well today. I am off to start morning chores. Had to move my swimming til Jack gets home because of some creepy guy that has started coming over there when I am there.

Good Morning, Flowers!
I'm just stopping by on my way to the linen closet with a load of towels. I'm trying to get the laundry caught up so I don't have to do it all on Friday before we leave on Saturday.

It's a cool windy morning in my neighborhood. The weatherman says rain is on the way but the sun is peeking out now. Such weather! I plan on packing jeans and sweatshirts as well as shorts and t-shirts.

"Gma" -- EWWWW . . a creepy guy you don't need!

I'm off to chase fur hunks around with the vacuum. Have a nice day, Flowers!

Good Afternoon, Flowers!
It is pouring rain and has been for the past two hours. I'm glad I'm not paying rent to watch it rain on the lake today! Not much newsy going on in my neighborhood. I did some more laundry and forgot some of MY shirts in the dryer . . . I usually only dry them part way and got interrupted between floors so forgot to check the time. I sure hope they didn't shrink.

We have found evidence of a mouse/mice (?) in the attic . . . it looked like sawdust and insulation in a corner cupboard where the chimney runs through. It is all sealed but there is one edge that where the corner is kind of catty wumpus crack type open. Guess the house isn't square there or something. I was looking for something else and pulled some items out. Yucko -- DH is going to put poisoned oats in the attic. I'm surprised they would come inside this time of year and know they wouldn't survive if out in the open. "Maggie", the cat, has been meowing around the house for a few days . . . I wonder if she is hearing it/them scurry around.

Hope you all are having a good day doing something that you enjoy!

Good Evening, Flowers!
It's been a nice day in my neighborhood today. I baked cookies this afternoon; I bought a tub of dough that was part of a fund raiser at school. I cleaned out the refrigerator and wanted it gone. There was no expiration date that I could find so decided today was the day. Yup, I ate a couple right out of the oven.

I think I am ready to pack and get stuff ready to go north on Saturday. I don't know why it takes me so long -- DH says he can be packed and ready in 15 minutes! I've been working on this all week long. I'm sure I will probably forget something -- I've made a list over the years so will have to dig that out. We take some of our own cooking pans, knives, etc., so I have to take my list along to make sure I don't forget anything when we pack to come home again.

Hope you have had a nice day today. It has been too quiet here in the flower patch! Have a fantastic Friday!

Morning girls!

Jean: MEN! Their idea of packing is throwing it in a box or something. Whenever Jack and I go somewhere, he complains I pack too early! We are going north for the holiday and I am anxious even if I am wearing a cast. Helping to drive ought to be interesting! We have plans to take a large group out to dinner at our favorite restaurant up there. It is in "Amish" country and is this great self-contained shopping, bakery, restaurant even having their own hotel. Pretty neat. We are also going to a minor league baseball game on the 4th with a big group of friends and family. I got front row behind home plate seats.

I am patiently waiting to go over to the pool. She has been opening it around 8 so I go over and get it done with. I have errands today. My dgs's birthday is next Friday and we are taking him to lunch and to see the Garfield movie that Sunday. I have bought him his video games, but have to go and get his Gameboy at the store today. That child sure is spoiled!

I better get some things done in the house so ttfn!

Good Evening, Flowers!
I am on my way to bed but I wanted to check in here first. I still need to write down my cat sitter notes in the morning and then I think I am ready to head out. Our elderly neighbor comes over to feed the cats and he is so afraid he will do something wrong. I just tell him that Leonard will show him where the refrigerator is!

"Gma" -- Did you get a cast or are you still waiting? We bought Ian an early birthday gift . . . a swingset that has a tunnel and slide attached. I couldn't see waiting until the end of November when he could be enjoying it now. We haven't see it yet but his mom says he has all the different parts figured out. Grandparents are supposed to spoil their grandchildren! DH's brother was passing through and he stopped in to see Jason, Amanda, and Ian. Normally Ian is shy around strangers but Amanda said he went running to Uncle Clyde; she thinks because Ian thought it was DH. We can hardly wait until the two are together in August to see what Ian thinks then.

I probably won't check in tomorrow as DH wants to stop and see his mom on the way. I hope you all have a nice weekend and a great week. I should be back on Friday.

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a lovely day in the neighborhood and I do believe this is my 4th day of being OP. Now I do think I am back with it. I had better be! It has been cooling down in the evenings and we have sure enjoyed cruising with the top down.

FAYE I certainly hope your arm is doing better and you can be back to exact soon. I think of you often my dear friend.

JEANyou are away and having fun. Be safe and tell us all about it when you get back. Leonard will fill you in on how he was treated while you were gone I am sure.

Have a lovely afternoon folks.

Jean: Have a great time and enjoy yourself thoroughly, you deserve it. By the time you are back here I should know a definite about the arm and the knee and no, no cast yet. DR appt is Wed.

Maggie: I guess we have to hold the fort down now for a week, huh?

I had a regular dr appt today and she didn't even have the MRI for my knee and had it faxed over. I have a copy to take on Wed to the Ortho. She said it says there is some damage but she can't say whether or not it can be fixed surgically. THE GOOD NEWS IS...DRUM ROLL PLEASE.... MY CHOLESTEROL. IS 105 AND MY TRIGLYCERIDES ARE 40. I am not anemic nor do I have thyroid or diabetic problems. I have lost 6 lbs since seeing her the last time and I got nothing but praise about my weight loss etc. She said she has never seen anyone with better cholesterol or trglycerides. (I guess normal is 120 and 50) So I was jazzed that for the first time I was applauded instead of harrassed. I will let you know what comes of the Wed appt. Thanks for the prayers!

Did an hour in the pool when I got back and here is a suggestion: PUT LOTION OR SOMETHING ON YOUR LEGS IF YOU HAVE SHAVED THEM THAT DAY! ouch! I got out of the pool and whooeee were they stinging (didn't want to go to the dr hairy though I only have about a width from ankle about 2 inches up and it is blond and so I could grow it pretty long before it looks suspicious!

Have a great day!

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

It is fixin to be a lovely day ~ as I type it is 75 degrees at just about 11:30. I am going to get to work on my glass this afternoon and Cowboy is already doing some leather work. Making holsters for the deputies. What to make for lunch. .... Got to think about that.

FYE that is such good news about your stats! Is't it great to be lower than normal in that area. So many people are having trouble with those things that to hear that you are doing so well is marvelous. Plus you had a sizeable weight loss! You go girl.

JEN
