I know losing weight is about so much more than just pounds which is why we count inches.
I see all of these amazingly high numbers in terms of inches lost and my jaw drops! Especially when my own numbers seem so different. Which lead me to wonder...
How/where does your coach measure your inches? And how often?
We take measurements every two weeks. She looks at my chest, waist, hips, right arm and right thigh. That's it. Nothing on the left and nothing anywhere else.
My coach measures my chest, my waist, my butt and my right thigh. I think my last total inches lost was 49 1/2 inches at the 7 month mark. Some coaches measure a lot of areas and some just the main areas, like mine. Based on that you will find a whole range of inches lost per person.
My coach measures
neck
chest
right arm
thorax
waist
hips
right thigh
at my last WI, #9 I had lost 21 3/4 inches, she measures every week and prints out a chart for me that shows all my weights and measures from day 1 so I can see the progress.
Neck, chest, right arm, waist, hips and right thigh every week. So far, I haven't been given a total, but do know I've lost 3 inches in my hips. At my next WI, I plan on asking for a total number lost.
My coach never adds up how many inches I've lost but here is the chart they fill in when weighing and measuring. I found it in my email, it's from a while back. Not sure how big it will upload but they fill in:
Date Weight Chest Waist Hip Arm Thigh Knee Calf H20% BF% LBS LOST
Chest, thorax, waist, hips, right arm and right thigh. She didn't know how she would have measured my underarms, so we left that off. I think neck would be a good one to measure too. Might ask if she will measure it every week or two weeks.
