Smile New to MRC

Hi All-
I have my consultation this afternoon and am super excited. I lost about 40 lbs and have been stuck there for quite a few months. So, I am seeking help through MRC. I need to lose a total of 50 lbs, but 30 by 08/06/2011 would be great since I am going on a cruise and would love to look good in a bathing suit. Any words of advice?
Thanks,
Crystal

Also, does anyone know if it is even possible to lose 30lbs in 6 weeks on a program tailored by mrc?

Welcome to the group!

Everyone's weight loss is different. At the end of my 6th week, I had lost 25lbs. I'm currently in week 14 and have lost 51.5lbs. But there are other people in this group that have been on plan for longer and haven't lost as much weight as I have. And vice versa - some have lost more.

Good luck and just know that this program does work!

Hi,

Welcome!!!! MRC is a great plan and definately works. At 6 weeks I had lost 23 lbs but I have at least 100 lbs to lose and probably closer to 120 and do not have any health issues that limited my options. Everyone's bodies are different and we do tend to lose at different rates, but the program does work. I look foward to getting to know you better.

Welcome! I am also 5'3" but started at 185. At six weeks I had lost 18 pounds. I was told that I should lose an average of 3 pounds per week for the entire 17 week period. Unfortunately, I went a off plan a couple weekends and have now lost only 34 pounds in 14 weeks. My MRC goal weight is much higher than yours (145), so I am confident I'll reach that in the next couple weeks. I'm 38 and have never been less than 135 in my adult life, so thought I'd set a goal that I know I can maintain for life. As far as looking good in a swimsuit, inches are most important, right? I've lost 58 inches, 26 of those in the first month. I did not take MR6 or cortitrim, etc. Only oil, multivitamin, calcium, and B12.

Good luck! This program WORKS! Let us know if you signed up after your consultation. This forum is immensely supportive and informative.

Red face Slow going....but going nonetheless

Well I am on my 17th day and have lost about 11 lbs. I feel somewhat disapointed, but after going back and looking at the inital responses I guess I am right where I should be.
Any advice to make the weight come off quicker??
Thanks for the support guys!! Hope all of your efforts are going well!!!

nervous to fail but excited to succeed about sums up the attitude many of us have had.

Is hcg The One That Shall Not Be Named Here?

Last time I looked I averaged a 2.75lbs loss a week but I cheat a couple times a month.

I've reset my goals this go round to reflect a two pound loss a week.

OOOPPPPSSSS!!!!
I removed that, I was not aware of that rule....Thanks.
I guess that is about right I am at 3.5 every week right now.
Calculating from that I am about 13 weeks away....
I was hoping I would drop most of it before I go away on vacation.

be patient with yourself, this is a long-haul...nearly everyone loses more quickly at the beginning of their program. most people will fall into the 2-3# per week averaged over the total length of their program (which is a very safe and healthy rate to lose), while many average 3-5 at the beginning. generally, the more you have to lose, the quicker you will lose at the start. just be steady ... remember, we didn't gain this overnight and you won't lose it overnight. more than anything, try to follow through with the stabilization and maintenance phase -- that was my huge mistake, not doing that.

I know it did not show up over night, and in reality its coming off way faster than it went on. My biggest thing to get past is I spend Sundays by myself and It seems as if every Sunday I mess up and eat stuff I should not be...I dont know if its bored eating or emotional eating or what, I wish I could get that undercontrol....

Crystalyn, I definitely eat when I'm bored and/or lonely and that has been a challenge for me as well. What's worked for me is to find something to do - take a walk, organize something, etc. I just have to keep my brain busy until it forgets it wants to eat something!

Thanks Shannon
I just do so well, lose a little then I am right back where I was after cheating...but I had a long talk with my rep at MRC and had a sudden realization that I am only sabotaging myself and have no one and nothing else to blame...Spending money trying to lose this weight you would think I would not want that to happen ,but I just couldnt help it...lets see how I do this week.
Weight loss is very difficult! That is for sure! I think it will be easier once school starts because, my time will be carefully structured.
I hope anyway!

Hi Crystalyn,

Does your center offer classes on emotional eating? I attended one last week and it was really helpful.

Also, do you workout at all? I am losing faster on MRC than I've ever lost on any other program; about 4 lbs a week!! I was doing fitness boot camps with a trainer, but with my caloric intake so low it was difficult for me to get thru the workouts. After my classes ran out, I switched to working out at home with various excercise DVDs. I was really concerned that my weight loss would slow down. But, besides my current challenge with PMS, it really hasn't slowed down.

I was a HUGE emotional eater! Whether I was lonely, depressed or wanted to rip someone's head off. I attended the Emotional Eating class at the center and they recommended a book - Life is Hard, Food is Easy by Linda Spangle. I LOVE this book!
