How are you guys rewarding your own progress? Clothes shopping, pedicures, massages? I'm trying to figure out a mini-incentive plan with specific rewards for each milestone and would love your ideas.
I like things that will help encourage me to stay on plan.
New songs for my iPhone to push me through workouts
New gym clothes
Workout equipment or videos
New low calorie products to mix up meal plans
New spices from my favorite spice supplier (crazy flavor, no calories!)
That way, I get a treat, but it pushes me through to stay on plan more!
New clothes of course! Also, after we get back from our family vacation in July, I'm getting a mini laptop for myself for not only as a reward for losing weight, but for paying off my credit card. I have saved cash for our vacation!
I don't reward myself per se with hitting certain goal weights. I buy clothes as I need them (keeping in mind that I'll need new ones soon so I don't go overboard), and I get manis/pedis/massages when my spirits need a lift or I've had a tough week.
What I do instead is try to connect my results with the way my new body moves -- I'm really into Hot Yoga and did this specifically to show my brain exactly how my new body could move. If I don't make these mind-body connections, I don't "get" the results...
My next targets: I will start a running program after my 30 day Hot Yoga challenge ends in July. And for my birthday in October, I will take a rock climbing course at our indoor climbing place. And in the interim, I will continue with the Hot Yoga.
Mind-body connection is SO helpful in connecting what I've done with how I feel. And fun forms of exercise work for me!
