Question 1000 vs 1200 calories?

Which amount of daily calorie intake would be best for someone who has 100 lbs to lose?

WonderSlim gives the option of 1000/1200 for women, although it's not super clear which I should select.

Thanks.

I don't know much about wonderslim, but 1000 or even 1200 a day is not enough food, doesn't matter what form it comes in. You will lose at first, but it's not realistic to live your life on so little calories. I read your blog and you said your reasoning for doing a meal delivery plan is long hours and no time to cook. What I do is every sunday I go shopping and get all the food I need for the week. I then chop up everything, measure it into servings and put it into individual baggies. Same with chicken/turkey etc. I then plan my meals for the week and plug it all into Fitday. That way whenever its time to eat I just grab what i planned and heat it up. If I decide I want something different, its not a big deal because everything is measured out right there and it takes about 3 minutes to change it in my Fitday. Plus, you will slowly start to learn how you like your food prepared, what portion sizes look like, and your not restricted to the foods a company provides. You will also save a lot of money in the long run.

Do not go below 1200 calories. Anything less than 1200 calories and you will be robbing your body of need nutrition.

I agree. Even 1200 is pushing it.

Wow, great advice Jessisaokay! Just reading your comments gave me some great ideas. I too agree 1200 is even pushing it. I say that because two years ago I lost over 60 pounds very quickly. I was hooked on 800 to 1000 calories a day and cardio 6 days a week. The results I lost weight and muscle. I was weak and flabby. So, I say 1400 - 1500 a week with exercise and you will loose.

Yeah, Roxy, that had me a little confused too. MF was straight forward w/o that option. I've been doing the 1000 C and am fine. But, you might want to start with the 1200 and see how it goes.

I also noticed that WS recommends you take a multi vitamin whereas MF doesn't, so be sure to get that in too. Good Luck.

All I know is that when I first started MF, I was doing 800-1000 calories per day. The 1st 3 days were hard, after that it got easier. Then I zoomed & in a month lost 18 pounds.

I'd still be doing MF if I could afford it. Hopefully, in a couple weeks, I will be able to "afford it" again. It's a great diet. It worked well for me, because I don't like to cook, I'm not into "recipes" and I have a knack for quick & easy. It may not work as well for someone else, but I am a MediFast Fan - forever!

Wendy - yes as of today I have lost 53 pounds with WonderSlim. I saw my doctor for the first time in 3 months and he was amazed! Tomorrow he will call me with my blood work results and I will probably be able to get off of my diabetes and blood pressure meds! I still have about 50 more pounds to go but this is so doable in my opinion!

I started the plan on October 14th. I have been on program ever since even through all the holidays.
The doctor called today with my blood work results and I am now officially off both of my diabetes meds and also both blood pressure meds!!
All of my blood work was perfect in every way including my cholesterol! He is truly amazed at how well and how quickly my numbers have corrected themselves.
We saw some friends tonight that we have not seen since I started this plan and they were shocked at the difference in my appearance. I guess it is about time for me to update my photo here on the board!
