I thought it would be cool for us to think ahead and instead of making resolutions we'll prolly break, why not set some positve goals for ourselves in 2008! What are yours?
1. Exercise at least 3x a week, since grad school eats up my life
2. Get down to 160
3. Complete the c25k program and run in a marathon
4. Learn enough Greek that I'll be able to get by in Greece
My goals are:
Lose 85 pounds by the end of the year
Be a better, more attentive mother (more playtime with the kids!)
Find a job that pays more
Exercise exercise exercise
Feel sexy again (ok its been years!)
Run the Fall Classic 5K and/or hike the Grouse Grind
Try at least 1 new recipe and blog about it every week!
I've been blogging about these goals this week, and I am PUMPED. I've really been thinking about the baby steps involved with them, so I don't get overwhelmed by the big huge year-long goals.
I'm sorry.. i'm still drooling over the Bob picture in the other post....
Ummm my goals this year have been broken down into 3 categories but i won't bore ya with that... in a nutshell:
1. strive to reinvent myself professionally
2. complete 365 scrapbook pages this year
3. reach my goal weight of 140 by my birthday
4. get back on track on my spiritual journey
5. get my finances under control
6. buy shoes. (this sounds silly but there is a reason behind it..LOL)
They say you stick to something more if you write it down or tell other people so here it goes.
My goals for 2008
1. Get down to 150
2. Eat 2 fruits and 3 veggies almost everyday
3. Be more confident in who I am and what I can do
4. Find a better paying job
5. Excercise at least 4 days a week
My 2008 Goals
1) To get to my goal weight of 150 by this time next year.
2) To keep working out 60-90 minutes, 5-6 days a week.

My goal for 2008 is to overcome emotional eating. It is the last piece standing in the way of me losing this weight, and this is the year I defeat it. I am to the point I know when I am doing it, I know what it is, but I haven't been able to completely eliminate those emotional binges...but I AM GOING TO by the end of the year. I put a little counter in my siggy for binge-free days!
I am going to do the following things instead of reaching for food when the stress and emotions get high:
1. exercise
2. scrapbook
3. call someone and talk it out
4. long, hot bubble bath with candles
5. take a nap
I will start with the first one, and must do each at least 15 minuttes before moving on. If it doesn't work, I'll go to the next until the instinct to binge passes. I know I can do this...and starting right this second I am committed to it!
My 2008 goals are to get on the path to a healthier lifestyle. This will include deliberate exercise at least 4 days a week and cutting out the emotional eating. I also plan to start cooking more from scratch and getting rid of as many processed foods as I can.
