Default Rewarding yourself

I'm just curious what all you gals out there do to reward yourself when you do good. I was visiting my SIL this weekend and she was getting a pedicure and leg wrap and being all indulgent and she was completely shocked to hear that I have never had a pedicure or manicure - except for my wedding - and that I do pretty much nothing to pamper myself or reward myself for working hard. When she asked me why - the only reason I could come up with was that I just don't feel like I deserve it! How sad. Once I said it outloud I wanted to cry. *L* So, I guess I'm just wondering what everyone does to pamper or reward themselves for a job well done or for good behaviour. Non-food rewards of course

Well that is a great question. Anyways, on my weight loss, once I am over half way there, which is only another 7 pounds (So I am scheduling my appt now) I am going to treat myself to a DAY SPA treatment DAY..that means, FACIAL/MANICURE/PEDICURE/FULL BODY MASSAGE, then I am going to take myself shopping (NO kids, NO hubby, JUST ME) and buy a new *trendy* outfit. I feel that loosing that amount of weight deserves to be rewarded, since it takes a LONG time and a SERIOUS commitment to achieve.

BUT, for normal *good jobs* I usually treat myself to a starbucks coffee or something small like a new pair of shoes...I can not see spending much money on clothes when I know I will go down at LEAST 2 more sizes. But you should REWARD yourself somehow, even if it is just a 30 minute *NON DISTURBED* candle lit, soft music playing, bubble bath....something.....

I used to do pedicures on a regular basis, but they became quite expensive. I started doing them at home occasionally, and it's not quite the same thing.

One of my favorite treats is to take an evening, go to the local Barnes & Noble or Borders, buy a coffee/tea, and sit and read all evening.

Good prizes are key! I have set them up for every 10 pounds that I lose. The first was all new undies at victoria's secret. I figure that underwear will fit for quite a while without getting too big, and for about $60 I could do something that felt like a super splurge. 2nd was some new makeup from my favorite store at the mall. Next up is rock climbing lessons!

Be creative about it, and make sure that whatever it is, it's really a treat for you. You deserve it!

cheers!

i give home spa treatments to myself quite a bit. i find that i can push myself alittle harder on those last few reps or that last mile, if i envision a bath and mud mask when i get home. i've started back to school so i have a lot of reading to do, and nothing makes it more enjoyable than doing it in the tub.

i have gotten sidetracked lately for tons of reason, the underlying one being that i am not focussing on myself enough so i need to get some new treat ideas to help get my natural motivation back.

ps sorry to interject, i lurk a lot.

Aww Lizziness you do deserve to pamper yourself so do it!

My NFRs (non food rewards) include books, manicures, pedicures, cds, flowers, a piece of inexpensive jewellery- usually some trendy costume stuff, a new lipstick. Big ones are a new outfit in my new size or a day trip to a nearby city or town and lunch out.

When I hit my goal weight I am planning of spending a day at the spa getting a pampering makeover!
