Tiki - Good luck with the date Saturday! Meeting the friends is very important.

Den - I hope your sons buy it! Good luck on Tuesday!

Ruth - How are you doing???

Hello Mauvais, Ellis & Noodles! And the rest of the chicks!

Thank you for the well wishes everyone. I am feeling much better. Just busy still. I am feeling very motivated right now, so I am trying to use it before it goes away!

The boy is going to be up this way for work on Monday night to Wed. morning. I am going to catch him for dinner and some general silliness. It should be fun.

Hi chicas.

Ever have the lead up to a weekend that you already know if going to be chocked with work so you're not looking forward to it? I haven't had a weekend like that since I had a job that worked weekends. I'm Assistant Directing a film short this weekend and the director is a flake and I'm starting to regret signing on to do it. I have to be on set (which is outside) at 6am. Luckily, all the shooting is outside, so it will only go until 5pm. But for two solid days! Sigh!

The Director of Photography (who I love) said, "Just plan on gaining 10 pounds this weekend. Set food is all garbage." Arg! So, now I'm packing my own lunch. Sigh.

Sorry just to whine and complain. Hopefully, it will all be worth it. *she says willing it to be true*

Jessica, I hope the weekend flies by. Good for you for packing your own food!
And listen, California girl, something to be grateful for... while you're standing around outside, it's not 40 below zero.

Hey, Tiki, how did the date go!! Inquiring minds here at 3FC wanna know too!!

How was everyones weekend?? I got a little surprise this weekend. I woke up with a badly infected throat. White globby stuff hanging from my tonsils... driving me crazy, not to mention a sore throat and fever. So I went to urgent care and got some nice medicine. I feel a bit better now.

After we got home..we get a phone call from the in-laws, telling us they are 2½ hours away!! They were on an east coast motorhome trip so we didn't expect them until Thanksgiving. Well, me being the cleaner that I am, got up and cleaned the house. I can't stand people coming over to a dirty house. Fortunately, it wasn't THAT bad so it didn't take me as long as I thought it would. Last night I cooked up a nice penne pasta casserole with a healthy green salad, and garlic toast. Mother-in-law made a homemade apple pie. I had a tiny piece, and savoired every bite. Now the house is quiet again as the in-laws headed back to grandmas for a bit, and hub & kid went about their day. Time for a nap!!

How did the shoot go Jessica? and Tiki, how was your date?

Guess you are looking to spend time with the boy this week huh Squeak?

My weekend was very busy. On Friday afternoon a fire started in one of the townhouses across the street from my house. My dad called me at work to let me know what was going on so I didn't panic when I saw fire trucks at the end of the street as I was coming home. The two attached units suffered damage as well - I just feel so bad for everyone who was involved but thank goodness no one got hurt.
We had no electricy until about 10 pm that night so we took my mum and dad out for supper at a neighborhood restaurant that we walked to.

We spent most of Saturday running around getting blinds for the house and a few odds and ends then we went to see the movie "The Grudge" with some friends (see my review in Alternachicks at the movies thread)>

Sunday we went to a Racetrack/casino for a friends birthday and I ate too much at the buffet I lost 5 bucks on my horse and then blew $5.00 on the slots in the casino but hey, I did get to play for 1 1/2 hours on that $5.00! It was my first time ever going to a race track and my first time ever going to a casino. It was fun but I am not sure if I would do it again

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

Playwright Ensler Returns with 'Good Body'

»
from Morning Edition, Monday , November 15, 2004
Playwright Eve Ensler became an international phenomenon with her one-woman show, The Vagina Monologues. Now she's back with a new play about the rest of the female anatomy. It's called The Good Body, and it follows Ensler's own attempts to make peace with her aging figure.

WOW!! Sounds like everyone had an exciting weekend, even if some of the excitement was less than fun!! I spent the weekend cleaning (YUCK) and we went out and bought a recumbent exercise bike. No excuses for not exercising now!!!

Thanks for all your good wishes chicas!! The surgery is tomorrow. I'm spending the night at my parents' house and my Mom will be taking me for the surgery. CAN'T WAIT! I was writing my grandmother this morning and lost most of the feeling in my hand. I'M SICK OF IT!!!

Geez Dentrassi, I hope that the surgery goes well.

Mauv - Sure sounds like you are enjoying getting your house together. I'm glad there was no damage at your place.

Noodles - thanks for that VERY lovely description of your throat! You are surely one of the funniest people on this board

Well, the date was a wash. The guy is an on-call IT guy for his company and of course, he got called in. We met afterwards for super early breakfast and that was cool. We have another more formal function to attend next month so I have three weeks to lose more weight and find a KILLER dress. The good thing about the guy not coming was that there was this OTHER guy there who I spent quite a bit of time talking with. I'm supposed to call him to arrange a lunch later this week. So many men, so liitle time!

Tiki - You ARE the playah! I bet you're the good kisser! Watch out for Tiki!

The shoot was horribly exhausting. The first day it rained until around 10AM but the Director still decided to shoot the scenes but one of his actors didn't show until after the rain stopped so there are continuity issues. The Assistant Camera person was giving me soooo much attitude, I had to lay into him because he wasn't assisting the camerawoman, he was flirting with the actresses! We did finish this weekend mostly on schedule but we will have one more day of shooting next weekend. However, here is a list of my BIGGEST accomplishments from the shoot:
  1. Set breakfast was 6 dozen bagels of every variety know to man - muenster cheese, cinnamon sugar, chocolate, pumpkin cranberry - of which I ate none.
  2. Set snacks were cheetos, doritos, potato chips, and (my fav) chex mix. Of which, I ate none.
  3. Set drinks were all soda or Sunny-D. Of which, I drank none.
  4. Frequently, I had a camerawoman that hadn't eaten breakfast, so I had to hold her bagel in one hand while she was filming - and I did not partake.
  5. I had to carry a tray full of HUGE BEAUTIFUL muffins that smelled DIVINE about a 1/4 of a mile - Ok, I thought I might die but I ate none!
  6. Lunch was pizza and McDonald's while I munched on my salad.
  7. I lied to everyone and told them I was allergic to wheat so, by the end of the shoot, they did not tempt me with bready things out of concern.

But the worst part, I didn't lose a pound over the weekend. Sadness! So, much work, you think my body would give me a pound out of pity!

And why are the gods tempting me so much? Never in my life have I had to hold "illegal" foods in my life! Maybe I just never noticed it before.

cheez, Tiki, isn't that typical!?!? It's either a dry run, or they all come at once.

Den, you know I'm sending hugs and prayers your way, sweetie. Keep us posted.

punkrockgrryl, thank you for sharing that! Did you know that our very own Ruth acted in a production of The Vagina Monologues?

Mauvais, if you're going to start gambling, couldja pick up a couple of lottery tickets for me, please?

I may post some kitchen shots soon of the renovation (non) progress. Don't hold your breath.
