Hi all,

Goddess, I'm on my way to cook for you. I'll be there in about 20 minutes...15 if I drive fast!

Another clean (but too scarce) food day for me. Got home very late last night. Kids had pizza, I stuck to a healthy choice entree. I know my calorie count, protein, etc. is way low for the day and I hate when I do that. I just imagine my body burning up my muscles since I didn't feed myself any food.

Tomorrow is a busy day. Gym at 7AM, football at noon, date around 8. Somewhere in there I have to comb my hair. Dangit. It is so hard to be cute under pressure.

Tiki.

Good morning- well so far this week has been pretty good - I haven't succumb to any stress related food cravings.

I am facing a tough food weekend though. Tonight we are going out to supper with the gang and then to a movie. Tommorrow is yet another frickin' barbeque and I wonder why I have been stuck on a plateau for months!

I am going to have either the seafood salad or the julienne salad at the restaurant tonight and maybe a low fat frozen yogurt as my movie treat. I am planning to load up on the salad at the BBQ tomorrow and have a burger without the bun. I promise to stay away from the chip bowl!

Goddess Jessica: Some good bedrest and plenty of liquids took care of it, I'm feeling better now. I think it was mainly allergies, no cyber-germs here. BTW, I'm a big whiner too. When I was a kid my mom called it asserting my dependence, since I was usually so independent.

Well, I decided to finally give up Dr. Pepper. It came as more of budgetary commitment than a dietary choice. I decided a while back that I want to do everything I can help my candidate win the presidency, but all of my volunteering doesn't feel like enough. So I donated my $1 a day, which I usually set aside for my DP addiction, until the election to his campaign. I guess I'm killing two birds with one stone So wish me luck! The money's been donated, but the second part of the commitment still needs to be fulfilled.

Hi Everybody!! I want to congratulate Sarah and Laura for their weight losses. I'm sure I missed someone...congrats to you too! I was posting that I exercised and I saw how great they were doing. As for me, I'm still OP. It's day 12. Yesterday I noticed the triggers to why I begin to binge drink and eat and I didn't have to succumb to them because I am abstaining for 100 days. My treat instead of destroying myself was iced coffee. I feel very good knowing I made it through my mini crisis and it only lasted a few hours (angst, depressioin, craving )

I have a picnic today!!! Does the summer BBQ & picnic thing ever end??

Well I posted in the sticky a few days ago and have finally found my way here. Hope you don't mind if I join alittle late. I have always loved this section of the boards and wanted to post and I don't know why I haven't till now....oh well here I am now.

I have been OP since I decided to join this challenge, haven't lost anything but no gain either. It has become a habit for me to weight myself everyday and I am making it a personal challenge to stay away from the scale but once a week to weigh in and see how I am doing.

I found the greatest thing to replace burgers at a BBQ and now I bring my own Salmon or Tuna burgers and I eat them with a salad instead of the normal bun. They taste great on a BBQ and I don't feel like I am loosing out on anything. I have a huge constant craving for greasy food ALL the time and it is a fight to not eat French fries everyday. The only good thing is that I hate sweets and I did not have to give them up.

I like the idea of giving up something in order to make a donation to something that is important to you and I have decided to give up my coffee in the morining and save what I spend on that and donate it to the animal mission down the street from me. This place is great and invites everyone to come viist the animals even if you are not interested in getting one. They have a great attitude and really care about the animals (they have a pet pig who is very cute and its weird to see because I live in the middle of Toronto) Yeah so that my plan and it feels good knowing that my body will thank me and I can do something good as well.

I hope you all have a great weekend and now it's time for me to cook my meals for the week cause if I don't I know I will make some bad food choices. Take Care.

Default Scales n' things

Weighed in at 310.5 this morning, so I'm down 5.5 lbs since I joined here on Aug. 4.

More importantly, I'm on an exercise habit that is good and doable--and as I mentioned yesterday, being able to post to the "Yay, I exercised today!" thread is a big motivator.

Thanks for being here folks! And thanks for not being cutesy-poo. I love how REAL and imperfect (and LITERATE ) we are here!

By the way...started a great new book today: Carolyn Myss's "Sacred Contracts"--about finding your purpose in life. She's been on Oprah several times--is a medical intuitive. I cruised through the first two chapters at Starbucks this AM and it's a keeper!

Congrats Megan! Yay!! And btw, cutesy-poo? ROFLMAO.

Hannah - I was so excited about your Dr. Pepper commitment. Very very cool. The Cute Boyfriend and I are thinking of hosting a debate party in our area.

Dale - Another woman somewhere of 3FC donated a pound of pet food for every pound she lost. I thought that was a neat idea.

I'm feeling better. I still have a ugly cough but nothing too bad. Unfortuately, the Cute Boyfriend is starting to feel sick. So, we're doping him with zinc and echininea and fluids in hopes that it won't last as long. Man if I thought *I* was a whiner ...

I've been eating normally. Nothing bad, nothing great. Need to get back in the race now that I'm feeling better. I've got to decide when to head back to the pool.

Hug to everyone!

Thanks Goddess! Oooh. Zinc.

I decided that zinc would be a great weight-loss enhancer for me.

Several months ago sucked on a zinc lozenge to stave off a bug and it TOTALLY zapped my taste buds for at least 24 hours. Truly gross. There was no point in eating...I couldn't taste anything.

I'll have to figure out if that was a one-time-deal or a helpful side effect.

It's not a one time thing. Zinc is the grossest thing known to man. But now they make zinc that you can shoot up your nose! Seriously! The Cute Boyfriend says it's his bihourly hot lava nose injections (apparently, it's not pleasant). http://www.coldeeze.com/products/nasal_spray.html

Just checking in. Damned weight is still the same despite being pretty much OP. I need to get back to walking, sore knee or not, and drink lots more water.
For Mauvais......

Now THAT is a good idea. I used to work at an animal shelter, and they are usually in need of quality dog food. The shelter gets the Kibbles 'n' Bits kind as a donation all the time. But anything with red dye in it will give the dogs diarhea. I can't drop $50 right now on some quality stuff for the dogs, which is what they really need. So every time I lose a pound, I'll save whatever ratio of money needed to buy a 50 lb. bag.

It's been hard to get the calorie thing under control. Counting calories used to work so well for me. Slowly, I'm decreasing the cals every day. It used to be that I would decide one day to eat X amount of calories, and boom, I'd do it. Now it's taking a while for me to get down to that amount. Probably because this time I needed to lose 50 lbs. total instead of 20 lbs. So the target "diet" calories are way way under what I was eating to maintain 180.

Other life stuff: My friend and I got confused about where to meet for lunch last Friday. So I ended up eating at the buffet alone. It was awesome. Nan is an addiction. Plus anything with peas and curry. Anyway, since my friend didn't make it last week, I'm going to try to convince her to go there today.

Happy Monday.

Hi there all,

I love the dancing emoticon. WAY TOO COOL!

I finished my week with 5 workouts (weightlifting plus cardio), clean food and a sore body. I'll take the soreness over feeling gassy, bloated and disappointed in myself any day.

Tomorrow is weigh in day - I just KNOW the scale will have moved some.

Tiki.

Good afternoon all! I am having a good OP day and not feeling starved which is great for me. I got up and weighed myself for the last time this week. I am going to make Monday's my weigh in and I WILL NOT get on that scale unless its a Monday (sorry I have to scream at myself cause I don't listen too well)

At work right now but will check in tonight...hope you are all having a great day!
