Thanks, guys. And I feel good today because I actually got what I wanted for my birthday present: a big rainbow moonstone set in silver on a long chain. It's way too cool, with a flash that goes through the whole spectrum. Moonstones and pearls are my birthstones.
Thanks, I do too. I actually like the semi-precious stones better than the "precious" ones, they have so much more character. And they are a lot less expensive. The store I go to here in Portland is called "The Fossil Cartel" and has all sorts of things, such as amber, lapis, and local stones like the Oregon Sunstone, our official state gem. They also organize rock hound expeditions.
It makes me feel good to support jobs in the area. Nearly every region has a locally mined gem, it can really connect you to the place you live, and it's not like you're supporting DeBeers and paying their ridiculously inflated prices-- and that money doesn't get to the miners, sadly.
I feel good because I got some junk cleared out of my apartment yesterday- liberating myself from some clutter
YA ME TOO!! Esp with us getting ready to move...I have been trying too clean out junk. Speaking of...what happened to the Clean Clutter Thread?? Can we post another? Somehow that helps keep me motivated.
Seek-Happy birthday! I love moonstones and other jewelry with character. My new thing is tribal Kuchi jewelry usually worn by American Tribal Style belly dancers...I wear it in some performances...but a few pieces make their way into my regular wardrobe as well....LOVE IT.
I feel good today because it is my weekly weigh in day...and I lost 1.4 pounds this week!
*now Tiki's last post has me singing as well*
Go Aphil...it's your birthday....*does Cabbage Patch Dance*
