I think too often the dead are forgotten, or thought of morosely, rather than remembering the joy they brought their family and friends.
I agree - it used to be common to go to cemetaries for Sunday picnic. I love cemetaries. I kind of got that way after I was widowed. It was such a comfort to me to be able to go there, but of course there are differences, fortunately the one I went to was more like a garden and they were very tolerant of putting things on the graves.
I think since modern medicine has just exploded in terms of knowledge and treatment, death is not so omnipresent in our lives and we as a society are in denial about it. It's a shame I think. We are kind of the same way about chronic illness and such.
Anyway, on to more pleasant things. The hospital where I work passed JACHO review. Whew!!! That was a real stressor which is done. I need to go to the pigs anonymous thread to say what I did to celebrate it being over.
My sweetie the bass player sat in with a band last night. I will tell you, being a 51 year old bellydancing bassman's lady is SWEET.
Got me a wildmanbadboymusician!!!

Havin' a real good time.
I get to say "I am with the band".
Never could imagine this was where I would end up in life, but it is a good place to be.
It's a quiet rainy Saturday here and we are just chillin'
