Now see...this is where and my two sisters inlaw have the opposite problem...we are all larger cup sizes, with smaller ribcages/band sizes...my sister and I are both a36- 38DD, and my other sis in law is a 34D...I have to get my bras from a catalog-because in the stores they think you can't have DD boobs unless your band size starts with a 4...and when you do find a smaller band size in a D or DD...it has thin stretchy straps...and no support whatsoever...a bra geared towards an A or B cup, just made larger...LARGER BOOBS NEED MORE SUPPORT! I need non-stretch straps...underwire...or I may as well not wear one!
I think women's jeans should also come in inseam lengths in stores just like men's...men get to choose 28-36 inseam pretty much, no matter what their size-that is 5 lengths! If we are lucky, we get 2 or three...short, regular, and tall...IF WE ARE LUCKY. And let me tell you-my stepmother is 5'11" and talls are usually too short...would it really be that hard to give us inseam lengths? They have given it to men for years...I also believe that bikini tops should be sold by cup/bra size, and not S,M,L,etc. There are size large women with no boobs, size medium women with HUGE boobs, and small women with average boobs...we should all be able to find a bathing suit top...

Arrow Bras

Find a Lane Bryant store or go to their web site... they have many beautiful and supportive bras made for 38DD (that is what I currently wear)... however I am not sure if they go down to 36DD. Lane Bryant also sells petite, regular, and tall pants... sizes 14 and up.

Aphil, I can relate to the jeans thing. I bought a pair of "short" recently, and had to cut about 5 inches off the bottom. I'm 5'-3"... I can't imagine what Ruth and Dentrassi would have to cut off.

A friend of mine just sent this link to me. Land's End is now doing CUSTOM FIT jeans for 18W and up. You put in your measurements and they send you a pair of jeans that actually fit. What a concept!

I wear a lot of guys jeans because of the length issue... In my case the thinner I am the talls in womens sometimes are long enough because I have big legs and when the material isn't stretched over the spanse of my thighs they hang closer to where they are suppose to be... (around my ankles) Anything shorter than a long looks like capri pants on me or like they shrunk in the dryer.

Right now I am taking over DH's 32 waist 34 length Levi's since he is back into his 30/34.... the waist is too big for me but they fit in the hips and they are long enough so, it helps until I can squeeze by big behind back into the stuff in my closet.

I agree with the inseam length... short medium/regular and tall can vary a lot. Since women vary a lot.... ya know what that would make too much since now wouldn't it?

Okay, I could wear capri pants as REGULAR pants except that they bind at the knee, because the knee is really at my calves and MY knee is in the thigh somewhere. UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!!

snort.

I've always hated capris (they just look like floods to me), but I'm thinking I may have to break down and buy some for this summer. Thank goodness they haven't gone out of style.

Jessica, thanks for the link... those jeans are great... but expensive! I can't pay more than 40 bucks (Canadian) for jeans. Makes me queasy.

I wear men's jeans because I have the genetic abnormality of noassatall and many men suffer from the same. My hips are also smaller than my waist and my legs are 2 sticks put on the pressure of carrying my large middle and breasts. I love that men have an inseam because womens jeans a regular is 27-29 inches and tall is 31-33 inches and I happen to have a 30 inch inseam.

Nuff said!

I hate capris too. I think they look better on tall people than on short people (like I said before, they aren't capris on me anyway!!!)

Chris-Lucky you!! I have long legs (for my height, which ain't saying much!!)
and carry my weight mostly in my stomach too, but unfortunately I ALSO have a huge ***!!!!

Checked out the Lands End site. Great idea but way too much money for them. I have found that the Wally World jeans fit rather well so I am goin to keep with that for mow. Capris, wish that they would fit me as well. Most are high waters on me. I think that I could get walking shorts and they would almost be capris.

I HATE trying clothes on in the store. In my slim days, I NEVER had to try anything one. Just looked at the size, took it home, and it fit!
So in order to avoid the horrors of the dressing room, I'm thinking of looking through my huge stack of pants and possibly converting a few pair to capris. If I can get them over my big butt and stomach.

I hate capri pants, alway have, for some reason they always have made me feel funny and I swear look funny. I have a complex about my calves which are big, always have been they are really muscular and large and capri's accent those but they also made me feel like I forgot to but something on.. call me weird.
