Yesterday went for first run since last fall, about 23 minutes, probably a mile and a half. Will go again tomorrow, and am aiming to go 3x a week (hope I can keep that little resolution, my quads feel like cement!).

Today walked probably a total of about 3.5 miles, counting all errands and school trips. Getting back to the toning exercises too, the pushup and crunch sort of things. Ugh, yuck.

Okay I just did that Shape workout. I used 5 lb weights. The first 2 sets were okay, the 3rd about killed me. 8 reps each. Except for the drop-aways. Just did 8. Those were so hard! I will try again later. I have no abs at all.

I am doing the crunches and Grif jumps on my stomach and says giggley mama, giggley. And laughs and laughs. Just the modivation I needed. Ho hum...

I got my WATP DVDs tonight. I'll do my pilates tomorrow morning, then if I have time I might try to squeeze in the 1 mile WATP.

Another 20 minute run this morning, even though I didn't feel like it at all...it was OK, but I did take walking breaks.

I am aiming for at least one 4-5 mile walk this weekend, maybe one each day...it is great to exercise outside again.

Congrats to everyone by the way...you are a total inspiration to me!

Holy crap. Where did you girls get all this motivation? Geez, I go AWOL for a while and you're all exercising fools.

Okay, okay, I'm jumping on the bandwagon. Got a fancy new treadmill last night (love it!) and it has these cool pre-programmed walking routines that vary speed and incline automatically. You decide how long and the max speed, and it adjusts it all for you. I no longer have a dining room table because it was the only place to put such a beast of a treadmill in this apartment. Better to be exercising than sitting down eating though, right? Right! I don't like company anyway, so it's not like we'll miss the table. I'm starting slow with a 40 minute program. Figure I'll do that for a couple of weeks to get used to it.

Happy Spring everyone!

Today is rest day, but I'm almost regretting it now. We'll see how my body feels after work, and maybe I'll just take the dogs on a nice long walk. I am so jealous Wildfire! I have a treadmill, but it's one of the OOOOooooold ones. It still works, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Yesterday, I convinced my creative writing teacher that because only 3 students showed up for class that she should let us go early so I could go to the gym. Guess what? It worked!

I did a full cardio workout and lifted weights! Yay me!

I notice that a couple of people do pilates - how are you finding it?

I bought a beginner's video tape about 3 months ago and haven't even taken the darn thing out of the wrapper yet!

You can take a peek in my journal to find the soap opera of my pilates experience so far, if you wish. The condensed version is that I'm beginning to like it. I still don't have the breathing down, that's a toughy for me. I'm lucky if I can breathe at all in a few of the positions. BUT! I am already noticing a difference. It's subtle, but it's there, and that's after only a week. I highly recommend it.

I walked down Manchester circle. Old growth trees and large pretty homes on BIG lots. Then down a street with horses and cows. Farm land with gorgous homes. Do not walk with your mouth opened or you'll eat gnats. I then went past apt complexes. I was listening to Stevie Nicks so I couldn't hear anybody but it sure was fun watching peoples body language. Next past the auto mall. I then went by an elementary school. All the guys playing basketball. A neighbor hood of small houses...onto the park. My next part was thru med size homes. Everyone was outside working on their yards. You could tell the spring bug has hit. They weren't home from work but an hour and they are all outside! The daffodils are in bloom. The flowering trees are in bloom. Yellow, pink, white blossoms everywhere. The bushes are so very green. It really looks like an Easter Egg outside. I went walking for 55 minutes. A fast walk. My shins don't hurt anymore. YEAH!

here';s a good laugh. i went to the gym this morning for my bike ride to nowhere, and found the lights out, everyone in the lobby, and an electrician's truck in the handicapped parking.

yep!!! no power!!! but i walked up to the desk and asked them if the bikes still worked, and they said yes, but you can't use them. so i said, "does that mean i'm excused from gym this morning?" in complete shock and disbelief... and they said that i was!!!

so I FLED AS FAST AS I COULD!!!!! and got one of my nails reglued and went to the bank, and then to work.

Wink Wow...

Maybe this should go under the "signs" thread... could this be a sign that you really don't need to exercise? Why don't I ever get those signs? The rest of us just get signs not to eat things that are bad for us.
