and Ruth...you are very fresh!!!!
Gotta go to work now....late as usual....planning to get
back to the gym this week...honest....really and truly.
Love, Soozie
Hi Ladies!!
Thought i would stop by and see what everyone has been up to lately and try to get caught up a little before i'm gone for a few days. Dr. assures me that i will be able to come back to work on monday without any restictions and i keep thinking yeah right he has NO clue what i do for a living or how much i lift in a day. I only get online when i'm at work so i'll be out till atleast Monday but probably till tuesday. Computer at home runs like a snail and i refuse to use it when i have access to one that runs so much faster at work .
Ellis - good luck with the kitchen remodel. I have a bathroom we have been remodeling for about 4 years that i still haven't finished and a bedroom that we started last summer that still isn't done. Hubby and I are both terrible about procrastination on finishing projects we start around the house.
Soozie - lets see those pictures .
I guess i better stop shoving food in my face (lunch time) and get some work done.
MrsM95
MrsM, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one slow to finish renovations. phew!
A friend came over yesterday and looked at my kitchen. I half-jokingly said it should be finished in about a year, and she said, "oh Ellis, you should get it all done IMMEDIATELY!"
Then another friend came over and said, "You take your time doing it... it's YOUR life and it's an expensive job."
SOME friends say just the right things.
DH and I procrastinate, too. We'll work hard on something for a while, and then we'll get burnt out, and we'll let it "sit" for about 6 months.
Maybe we should switch houses and do a "Changing Rooms". Of course, someone would have to give us some money.....
This has been a really lousy day so VENT ALERT!!!!!
The electricity was off when we got up this morning. OK - we can handle cold cereal for breakfast and instant coffee made with hot tap water. The power came on by 9.
Next, a callow youth from Bell shows up at the door and tells us we need our line upgraded. He disconnects the phone and then goes for coffee! Phone is finally back before lunch.
Furnace guy comes to clean at 1 and discovers that the inside of our furnace has collapsed into the heat thingie or something. The new furnace guy comes at 2 and tells us we also need a new oil tank as well as a furnace - over $3K! (All this stuff is 35 years old so......) Can't use the furnace until replaced which should be late tomorrow or first thing Tuesday. I guess there are no Mondays in furnace installation land. Damned cold in the house except in the kitchen and back room where the woodstove is roaring.
So, in a slight snit, I go to the Office to work on Accounting and keep warm. The System crashed! Luckily I did a backup on Monday - hope to **** it works. The good news is I would need to re-create October only as I closed the year Sept 30.
So, I am going to have a long hot tub and wash and dry my hair.
If we lived in Ottawa, I'd be at a Chinese buffet by 5!
So how's that for a pissy day? At least I didn't have my wrist operation done yesterday!
oooooooh, poor Ruthie... the day from **** indeed!! Thank God for woodstoves. Ummm, you HAVE had the chimney cleaned recently, haven't you?
If you lived in Ottawa, you could come to my house and have fish out of a box, mashed potatoes out of a box, and corn out of a can. I am such a gourmet...
Get a good book and cozy up by the fire. With a whiskey. And a blanket. And slippers.
hugs... xoxo
WOW!!! Sounds like alot of us are having crappy days and/or weeks!!! I have fallen back into the habit of letting people walk all over me, so it is time for me to re-find my inner *****.
Ellis-We like to "age" things before we install them. We aged a faucet once for 2 1/2 years before we finally installed it. It was such a horrible job that i wish we had waited even longer!!! (Part of the pipe was "covered" in duct tape. When DH removed it he found the pipe had disintegrated and it was ONLY duct tape!!)
Mrs. M-Sorry to hear the bad news. We are all behind you here, and sending lots of good thoughts your way. Hopefully it will be benign.
Den, I can so relate to your faucet story. heh heh.
We have a ceiling fan still in the box that we bought 6 years ago. Not quite sure where to put it in this house. And a few light fixtures. Okay, SEVERAL light fixtures.
My DH has learned to do plumbing if you'd like to borrow him.
Ruth--Sounds like you had a rotton day yesterday. I hope today turns out to be better for you.
Ellis and Dent--I also have things around here that I've had for a long period of time that has never made it on the wall. My father made me some shelves and things for xmas last year that I've never got around to staining and putting them on the walls. And there is no sense in doing it now, when dh and I will be buying a house in the spring.
Well, Nov 15th is the day is the of my surgery to get my wisdom teeth out. Not really looking forward to it. They only do surgeries on Thursdays and Fridays so that means I had to book the whole weekend off work and the weekends are the best time of the week to make the most money. Oh well, I'll just hope the following week will be just as or even busier than the one I'm going to miss.
And I have to take my car in on Tuesday to get it fixed. Either the rear strut is broken or it's the axle, either way it has to be fixed before it starts to snow. My left tire is on an angle and it's wearing the inside of tire. It's pretty much bald. So I'm guessing around $600 for that. And so close to xmas too!
Well, I'm off. DD wants me to put pig tales in her hair for school today.
I'm doing a lunch shift and then coming back home before I have to go back in at 4:30, I'll check back in then.
You all have a great day and take care.
Hi Chickies, I finally got myself back to the gym and I feel wonderful. Just seeing the scale go down alittle bit inspired me and seeing my old friend who looks almost exactly the same as she did when she was 20 years old about 20 years ago! What is up with that....? I hate that...but, it is inspirational.
So, I worked out at the gym Thurs, Fri, and Sat (today) and then tonight I worked out to techno-pop and Madonna's music CD with my DD and DP. We were bebopping all over the living room...breaking in the new carpet. Then we stretched and did some yoga...it was great.
hope you all are having a better weekend.
Sending love and encouragement and positive energy!!!
Soozie
Way to go Soozie and family. Exercising together can be a lot of fun and very rewarding too. It is great you have lots of support. Although I bet you are already one hott chick, just wait till you firm up! Oh la la! Sometimes the little things are the ones that will be remembered for a life time. Shake that booty babe!
Talk soon, love
Virginia
All this damned enthusiasm is going to make me start exercising soon. If there ever is a time with no sports on the TV, I'll do my walking tapes while the dogs leap and bound. They think it's a game.
