We had a really nice dinner with my friend from California tonight. It was really sweet of her to fit us in to her schedule and drive way out here from Phila.
Ellis...I did show off my new kitchen and the painted and freshened up living room...I still haven't taken care of getting pics online...I'll work on it girls. So I can show you too!!!
I still didn't finish my furniture refinishing project... if I wasn't such a perfectionist about these things it would be long done... but, I'm enjoying it. I get slowed down because it involves alot of sanding...I have no garage and no work room...so I only sand outside and we've had alot of rain lately. I like to work at night but can't do sanding then. When I paint or whatever I work in our sunroom...I don't know what to call that room really...its like a casual living room/playroom/tv room/ everything room. I just put plastic table cloths over the rug but, sanding is so messy with all of the fine dust I stopped doing it inside...just too messy.
We have a big shed in the backyard and I fantasize about turning it into a studio when I retire someday...have to have good lighting...ie, electricity, running water for a sink, heating, a/c of course...and last but not least...cable tv....I can't create without it!! I could have my sewing machine, painting stuff, and furniture refinishing etc in one place...a quiet little workshop.
Maybe in twenty years...when the kid has graduated from college...until then, the dining room table becomes my sewing area, living room and back porch are my woodshop and painting...anywhere I drop a dropcloth...usually in front of the tv!

...feeling a little like a slug in that regard. Trying to get house finished as I'm having some of my colleagues here this Friday and an old friend is coming today...Monday, for dinner.
