Lol! It will feel like summer! I'll take it. I'm in Massachusetts and it's been freezing. You've found a great place for support and I look forward to seeing you post here frequently.

Hate to boast but it's been a balmy 70 here! Very nice though I'm sure Corinna has it much much warmer!! Crazy world we live in!

weight2lose 01-28-2013 03:34 PM

Go ahead Kris, rub it in! We're expecting a few inches of wet snow tonight. Wanna trade places? Balmy and 70 in the Big Easy sounds great! lol

Day 2

Day 1 didn't go so well.....my boyfriend will eat what I eat but wants dessert and feels bad if I don't eat it too.....so last night we had salads with steak strips and then an hour later blueberry pie!
I will not give up....so here comes day 2. I have got to figure out a way he can have his dessert and not feel guilty because I am not.
Gosh...I may even get to get outside for some exercise after work today....suppose to be 46 degrees here today!

weight2lose 01-29-2013 07:51 AM

Hope that 46 degrees melts the sleet and snow from last night. Sharemenu, what diet are you following? The first week, to two weeks was tough, but now desserts, breads and sweets aren't tempting for me.

WebWoman 01-29-2013 08:25 AM

Hi Sharemenu and welcome! Going without sweets and desserts is what will make you successful, but we can't look at it like we're depriving ourselves of anything, or it will be too easy to give in to the temptation. You really have to wean yourself off them completely to not want to eat them any more. Rob is right, after the first week or so you really don't crave them anymore.

It's a good idea to have some fresh berries on hand and have a small dish of them while BF is eating his pie/ice cream or whatever, so you're not really giving up dessert time with him. I sprinkle a little stevia on them and it's good!

Fresh strawberries and blueberries over cake anyday!

SHARMENU 01-30-2013 06:41 AM

Good Morning WebWoman and Rob! Your so right....key to sucess is not eating those "white flour" delights! LOL!!
I agree....once you give them up for a while not only do u no longer care about having them but if you do hae them they taste awful!
I do notice on day 3 this morning my rings are loose. One of my rings was so tight you couldn't turn it...lol...now I can.
It is starting to rain here Rob....how is your weather? I am just looking forward to warmer temps even if we have rain!

SHARMENU 01-30-2013 06:43 AM

Onward to the 30# challenge! Today my goal is to drink more water and walk on the treamill for 30 minutes,,,,,of course to stick to the Beach!

Corinna T 01-30-2013 07:23 AM

Hi folks, sorry I was away. Things got rather busy, but I'm back on line now. So I see we have another person to our group. Welcome Sharmenu! It is nice to see you have taken a positive approach to using exercise with your diet. Once you stick to your diet for about a week or two, I bet your boyfriend will begin being more supportive than now. It really is a family effort in some ways.

Blueberries are my favorite fruit. Just having a bowl of fresh fruit is a great dessert. Of course it takes time to get over the sweet tooth sugar addiction, but eventually a bowl of fruit will satisfy that area instead.

weight2lose 01-30-2013 08:42 AM

Sharemenu, what beach? I hope it's not an New England beach! lol Or is it South Beach?

I had a woosh yesterday for 3 lbs. Down to 217. I'm collecting low carb recipes on my blog and I view them before I go food shopping. I get to try different dishes and that keeps the diet more interesting.

I hope that everyone is doing well!

Rob

Way to go Rob!

I have always joked that women cut down just about everything and may lose a pound in a week but men can skip lunch and lose 5 pounds! Of course it's due to a greater musche mass, bla, bla, bla but still doesn't seem fair!

Just another reason why we women need to exercise (cardio and weight) to increase our muscle mass too! Way to go!

I've not been weighing in lately...totalled my car and between towing, repair garages and buying a new car have really felt stressed and crazy... :-(

weight2lose 01-31-2013 04:05 PM

Hi WebWoman!

I know that I'm going to hit a wall soon. I worked my tail off trying to make an impact in the first month. My goal was to lose 2 to 2.5 lbs a week until the end of June. This first month has been excellent for me. I'm making a push for 20 and that would be great, but unless I can knock off a few more tonight, it's not happening. I have my blog update/progress photos due next tuesday and I wanted to see a big difference. Time will tell.

Where are the Fabulous Fifties today? Just two of us?

SHARMENU 02-01-2013 07:26 AM

Corinna T thank you for the nice welcome! WTG Rob on your 3#!!!
I am doing South Beach....then I'll reward myself with Fort Myers Beach when I drop 25#!!! LOL!!!
Totaled your car Web?! Sheesh!! and you didn't get hurt! Glad your Guardian Angel was riding with you!!
We had a brutal storm yesterday but blue skies and calm mmorning...well got to get Jim up and get off to work!
Drink your water today everyone!!!

weight2lose 02-01-2013 09:14 AM

I lost 3 sections of my fence during that storm, Sharemenu... That's one of my chores this weekend, fence repair!

Love Ft. Meyers, especially this time of year. My family has a place in Naples that we go to on occasion.

Have a great weekend!
