March is Makeover Month...I like that! Spring is just around the corner and I can no longer hide in my sweatshirts.....time to get really serious ....hope everyone has a wonderful day!

SHARMENU 03-03-2013 08:44 AM

Okay....I told you I would get serious so here I go!
I am having my morning coffee and waking up....Yes slept late after all that lack of sleep the past two days. My morning goal is a 3 mile walk. I can't wait to do it outside but for now it has to be on the treadmill. It is still too cold here for any distance walking.

Renee3 03-03-2013 02:37 PM

Sharmenu....did you make the 3 miles????

SHARMENU 03-03-2013 04:48 PM

I did it!!!

3 mile power walk in and guess what? It got up to 50 here today!!! I did it outside!!!! Now I am alone tonight so am going to try to do 2 miles on my treadmill!!! Went to Applebee's with my mom for lunch.....got a steak and some veggies 420 cals. Was yummy!!!

Corinna T 03-04-2013 04:10 AM

Well I had a eventful weekend. Ended up spraining my ankle and tearing some tendons. So now I need to take it easy for a few weeks. So my daily walks are out for now. That means I will just have to cut back more on the food. I am not looking forward to that. I don't like to sit around too much, so this is not going to be easy. However, I need to in order for my leg to heal properly.

Renee3 03-04-2013 06:14 AM

Ouch Corinna, that doesn't sound like fun. Hope you are up and about soon. Take care of that ankle!

SHARMENU 03-04-2013 06:59 AM

OUCH!! I am sorry to

hear about your ankle Corrina! Maybe searching you tube for some exercises that don't require you to be on your feet and do strength training....of course not on the affected ankle.....
It is snowing hard here right now.....but I am determined to do my 3 mile power walk so after work I will be out there looking like the town snowman!!!

WebWoman 03-04-2013 09:02 AM

Good morning all,

Corinna, sorry to hear about your ankle. ;-( This might be an opportunity to do some strength training with dumbbells...

I'm still training for walking a half marathon, and on Saturday managed to walke 8 hilly miles in spite of the cold. Each week we will increase the walk by one mile till we're up to 13.2. I'm fine with it but my feet get pretty stiff afterwards.

In spite of the exercise, I had a Sunday night mine-binge and feel badly about that. Monday is always a good day to start again and I will.

Have a great day!

Andi

Renee3 03-05-2013 06:18 AM

Had a great day yesterday. Took a day trip with DH and ate really healthy. He supports me with my diet, so that's a good thing.

How's the ankle Corrina? Better I hope!

Sharmenu...did you get your walk in the snow?

Andi...you can get back on track...take it one day at a time...

SHARMENU 03-05-2013 07:06 AM

Andi you put me to shame!

8 miles!!! OMG!!! The most I have ever done was 6!
Well if I did any more than that I was at Disney:cool:!!!
Yes Renee...snow and all....I was out there.....and you'll laugh but I feel skinnier already! LOL!! I even have a fitted new top on to wear to work today! HeHe......Day 3...BRING IT ON!!! I will win this battle! T oday I have a very busy day at work.....my mom needs me to go with her though to an ortho surgeon....I work a salaried job and I can go but I feel somewhat guilty as I have a small presentation I am supposed to do....well I guess I need to practie delegating a little more and leave it for someone else to do....Oh give me strength!

You all have a GOOD dieting day! REFUSE to give in today to those cravings....tell yourself it is one day and you can have that treat tomorrow (course we won't--hehe) Sneak in your exercise
and post later to share....I look forward to reading what you did and ate!

Shar

Ankle is a little better today. Swelling is still there, but it will go down with time.

Yes, I can still do strength training/dumbells. I will have to do that while watching TV.

Well I ate an ice cream bar today. It was good. So I don't always have the will power that I need. I need to work on that.

Renee3 03-06-2013 06:09 AM

Hi everyone! More snow forecast for today :( I am baking 4 dozen cupcakes today for an upcoming church auction, but I Will not eat any! I can do this!

Glad the ankle is doing better, Corinna....

SHARMENU 03-06-2013 08:22 PM

Oh Renee that is SOME willpower....I don't

think I could ever do that...I would start with a taste of the batter which would lead to a smidgen of the cupcake with some frosting while still warm and then I would sit down with a big ole cupcake frosted/sprinkled and a tall glass of milk.....enjoying wvery bite and then be bummed for the rest of the day that I ruined my diet! ....
Wow see how we sabotage ourselves! Instead of saying....Okay it was a GOOD cheat and next meal I am back on my diet.....guess we just need a different way of looking at things sometimes.
I am going to work really hard at my focus....but I love food and I do cheat....today I ate bread....I dont usually do that....but I was locked in a meeting from 0930-1600 and the food was sandwiches and chips and I ate them....I do forgo the dessert....that was all I ate until I got home at which time I had almonds and chex mix....do I feel guilty....no.....I will be right back at it tomorrow....I believe the persistence will pay off.....no walking today however I did take the mileage around the loop where I work and it is 3 miles....so that is good info....I can change in my office....do my power walk and then head for home!
Corrina, glad to hear that swelling is going down......no walk for me today...maybe I'll join ya with those strenght exercises!

Renee3 03-07-2013 06:16 AM

Breezy and cold here today...I can't wait for Spring so I can get outside and garden. Yesterday I made a big pot of vegetable soup. I was pretty good with my eating. Maybe had 1 too many graham crackers. We have a farm and once the weather gets warmer there is a lot of outside work to do. Stay focused on your health everyone!

Corinna T 03-08-2013 05:39 AM

Hi Renee! Vegetable soup is great on cold winter days. Plus it is usually low calorie too. I use to live on a farm when I was growing up. Always kept me busy and with lots of work to do. It kept me very active and very thin and trim. Now that I live in the city, my lifestyle has changed, and I have added on the pounds. Plus being older doesn't help either. Anyway, I can understand why you are looking forward to Spring. It will be here soon. This weekend the time springs forward for you!

Sharmenu-glad to hear you found a way to get exercise at work. That is wonderful. Keep it up and you will start a new trend there at work. A good role model for all.

Well I will be without a computer for a few weeks, so I will try to make it to the library or some other spot to check in. So don't worry if you don't hear from me for a bit. Remember to focus on the good foods so you can reach your goal. All the little efforts do add up. Don't give in. You can do it and it will be well worth it. You can be thin and trim, and win! Hang in there :)
