I'm taking a break from cleaning the camp. Phew I'm tired. I've been at it since 7:30. Not to mention I've been up since 2:35 this morning. I just couldn't go back to sleep. I'm fizzling out fast. Dh usually helps with this but it's a work weekend for the hunting club. The men are in the woods clearing roads replacing bridges bush hogging ect. Maybe when he gets back he will or we will finish next weekend.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I have to get busy again. Break over.

myself today. All my joints-even my back is sore and don't get me started on my upper arms. Haven't slept well in days. But I'm hanging in here and lost 2 pds this week.

Hi everyone. i have been enjoying spending time with my girls and grkids. lots of laughing and i sure needed that. the guys left for moose camp i was trying to find a recipe to make a deseart with the stuff i had on hand and made an applesauce cake with abr sugar carmel frosting. every one loved it so am posting the recipe, it was awsome but not diet friendly. rosey
1 1/2 chunky applesauce
1 egg
1/2 water
1/2 oil
2 1/2 c flour
2 c sugar
2 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 T cinnamon
1 T vanilla
(raisens and nuts opptional)

mix and bake in 9x 13 pan 350*
poke cake with fork

pour hot frosting over warm cake

frosting
2 c br sugar
1 stick butter
boil for 5 min.
add 1/4 evaporated milk
boil 2 min
add 1 t vanilla

Rosey, that cake sounds fantastic!! OMG! I think if I concentrate I can even smell how good it is!!! This will be another keeper!

Lost the long post I just typed. Not going to type it again but wanted to say thank you to Karen3 and Rosey for the recipes. Both sound great. Karen, I was going to do a search for a good soup recipe but now think this is the one I'll go with.

HI all -

I’ve had a bad week. On Monday took DM to doctor for bad cold. Put her on antibiotic. Tuesday she fell, didn’t hurt herself but went to hospital anyway. They decided she had pneumonia. They released her. Social worker said she need to go to skilled nursing care in their retirement community until she got better, When I told DM she sounded like she was all for it. It is connected to their building. When we left everything was fine. Well she pitched a fit that night and they had to sedate her. My dad has a friend who goes to breakfast with him and he walks with my dad to visit my mom. It’s not much further than the restaurant. Well, dear dad had a diarrhea explosion. Thought we had that taken care of but it’s back. He’s had 3 now. Finally got him to wear Depends. I still can’t drive because of my shoulder but DH has taken me every day after my physical therapy or doctor visits. My brother had some time off and he’s been there some of the time but he’s going back t work tomorrow night. My mother has to have an alarm system because she keeps trying to leave. She had another bad night last night. Her Alzheimers has worsened. She is delusional. It is very bad. I don’t think she will be able to return to independent living and I fear she might not be able to even go to assisted living. I don’t know how to handle this. Perhaps on Monday the social worker will have some ideas of what we can do. My dad thinks she’s there for her mental problems - she had some 50 years ago. Between the two of them and my physical therapy for my shoulder - that’s my whole life. My older DS was over Friday but is gone out of town for a wedding. My DH played golf yesterday and is today. Told my dad we would get there after DH gets home from golf. Talked to DM’s room mate. She said DM had a bad night, kept trying to leave, combative. I tried to call my younger son in Maryland - no answer.
I’m so sad and depressed. I just hope there is a solution to all this. I have to catch up on the emails. Sorry I'm such a sad sack.

Happy Sunday,its pouring rain here,if this keeps up my moose hunters are going to need a canoe to get out. I had such a nice time with the girls and grkids this weekend. just what i needed lots of hugs and laughs. we planned thanksgiving and xmas,trying to downsize the gifts part and concentrate more on family and fun. im still trying to learn the sock loom grrr one lumpy pair of socks in the making. im stubborn so will get it lol. omg deelee you really have afull plate,dont have answers but hope you take care of yourself 1st,befor you can care for the others. know we are thinking about you. for all rosey

Ginger - so sorry you have the flue. You made me smile about the baby kisses and puppy kisses. I often think of getting a dog but I can’t handle cleaning up any more poop.

Gayle - sorry you have to work this weekend. I think of the nurses and other staff that have to work with patients like my mother and think - I hope they are paying you well…Good job at Walmart, not buying the candy. I seem to be eating too much of the good stuff and am not losing the weight I planned to lose during my enforced isolation during my shoulder recovery. Kind of my own detox, rehab, center. I haven’t been able to stay in isolation.

Kitty -welcome. Please excuse my venting. This is a good place to do it and I’m feeling better already. I battled with menopause and finally started on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. It has helped a lot. I believe that the fat in our bodies also produce estrogen. When I lost weight my dose needed to be increased. I also found out I was hypo thyroid and am on the right dose of thyroid meds. I also was borderline diabetic. Endocrinologist told me to go on the Metformin that I was trying to avoid. Now, they have to fight me to get me off of those meds! I’m not saying they make weight lose easy. In fact I’m 15 pounds up from that 37 I have posted. L But I’m giving myself some time to relose it. But without them I think it was much harder. I’m 58 now. It was over a few years that I got all this stuff figured out. I went to specialists for the thyroid and the hormones. I am struggling with the regain. It’s never easy.

Donna - sorry I missed your birthday. Glad it was happy..

Cajun - glad about OSHA stepping in. Hope they make the place safer. Good job on the weight loss. Oh and I have a CURE for mouth sores. L-Lysine - if currently have them I would take 1000 mgs three times a day. Can buy at any drug store, health food, probably grocery store. You can buy 1000 mg tablets but I find them very hard to swallow so I buy the 500 mg. If your son has a bigger throat than me he can probably handle them. Actually, I would start at 2000mg to get it started. Salt water helps too if he can stand it. When I feel one coming on I start taking them. Stops them.

Gotta go find out when DH is gonna get his *** off the **** golf course. How about that - I’ve gone from being sad and depressed to very angry…I think that might be progress.

DeeLee--- so sorry to hear of the struggles you are going through right now. Try and stay strong and positive. It is really hard to do at times but a smile is much more contagious than a frown.

We went to church this morning and then to Culvers for lunch. It was just my sister and her hubby and us this time. My brothers and my aunt wanted to go and check out the new casino. We decided to pass on that today-- I'd rather go down sometime on a Saturday or some other time. Just seems like it would have been a long time leaving the girls since it is about 40 miles away. Maybe when we get back from Colorado we can do that. But lunch was good and we still had lots to talk and laugh about! Just like a couple little girls!!

Still kind of cloudy and rainy here today. We got 4 6/10 inches of rain since last Thursday night. And that didn't include any of last night or today. I think we are making a good dent in our drought!

I've got some laudry going now-- never ends does it? Have a good rest of your Sunday!

Just checking to say hi before heading to bed. Two days down ~ one more to go. It was a decent weekend at work. A lot of times, weekends are a little better ~ not always but sometimes. Hope it holds for one more day.

DD Sara and DGD Maddie popped in for a few minutes this evening. That is always fun ~ nice end to the weekend.

Ok, guess I'd better get to bed. I'd rather stay up and play
