Good Morning girls...
I woke with a migraine headache today:mad:. After finding out I'm allergic to Maple trees, we cut our only maple down last fall. But the fallen leaves are all over the ground and DH used them to cover many of our flower plants, hydrangea, roses, etc. I asked DH if I could still have an allergic reaction to the dead leaves and he didn't think so. But I sure did get a headache and the right sinus plugged up? We have a dozen red twig dogwood bushes I trimmed to about a foot off the ground. The little twigs I put in our burn pile and the big ones I put in a large bucket for decoration. I wouldn't have thought to do this but last Christmas they were selling bunches of red twig dogwood branches for decorations. Who'd thought? When I find some our thick twine or something rustic, I'll make a big bow to put on them. Marie...I used the patch, it was a once a week patch and I didn't have any problems with it, no sticky residue either. Oh and thanks Marie, I know I don't have Alzheimer yet but since my mom had it..........I keep my mind busy. Mary...your mom living to 104 is remarkable, good genes. I Love how she would eat a large portion of fat off the meat. For myself, I love really crispy pork fat. The pork rind chips you can buy at the store is totally gross, yuk! Lucinda...It surprises me that your doc would recommend 900 calories too. I often eat around that when I really need a jump start. Carol Sue...BIL has lots of options, now get your hubby to kick him in the butt and get help. I read the article you posted from The Times and I totally agree. Like Lynn, I can't lose unless I stay around 1,000 calories per day. For myself, I don't get hungry at all. The key of course is eating lots of fiber and drinking plenty of water. The guy mentioned in the article ate 1/4 cup oats, 1/4 cup bran and 1/4 dry milk moistened with liquid skim milk, zapped in the microwave....then topped with frozen blueberries. I could eat that without the bran, seems like it'd be kind of chewy. Freda...yes I know about Sundowners. MIL was diagnosed with dementia, not Alzheimer. (Her doctor explained the difference and it makes sense with the length of time when she doesn't change much.) She called last night and apologized when I answered the phone. She said she meant to call Bruce's number, did I know his phone number? Then I really confused her when I told her he lived with me. KarenMo...I thought of you yesterday while drinking a Chocolate Royale Slim Fast. I made DH one too since we were too busy to come in and eat. He asked when I bought the Slim Fast and I told him It's been in the freezer at least 5 years. (Still tasted good)Today I'll freeze some bananas to pop into them for a thicker shake. Our freezer is just about out of the veggies I froze last year and the Slim Fast is a quick meal when we don't have time to eat. I didn't get hungry until about 4pm. |
Lynn...I just caught up on all my emails and noticed the recipe exchange you sent a couple of days ago. I forwarded my recipe and sent out the message to 15 people. I know it says 20 but I don't communicate with that many people on emails. I think we'd be fun to get all those recipes back.

Hi all. I've been back since Sunday night but suffering from a very sore back. I've spent lots of time just lying on my back or doing just a little bit of work and then resting.
The birthday party was a great success. DIL rented a day care centre for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon and the kids had a blast playing with the toys. The cake was lovely and totally worth the $100 for all the work that went into it. I'd have just baked a cake mix and been done with it. Most cake ends up in the garbage anyway. Kids are full from the main lunch or too excited to eat. The lady who made the cake threw in 4 dozen cupcakes as well because she knows the family. So much cake to get rid of, lol. I'll post pictures later on this week when I get them downloaded to the computer. Everything is a chore with a bad back. I've read all your posts since last I was here and there's so much on the go. I'm not even going to try to reply as I think there would be about 5 pages to catch up on! I'll try again later on today. Take care. |

Hi Everyone,
I just got some VERY good news. For several reasons, I decided that I needed to see a hematologist (in addition to my dermatologist) for my lymphoma. I saw her today. She told me I am doing GREAT. No treatment needed. I am a VERY happy camper. Was a little worried about what kind of treatment she was going to suggest. Lynn |
Good Afternoon, All…
Today was tax day… and then I did ½ of GM’s grocery shopping. The meats and dairy I’ll do tomorrow after work, so I don’t have to schlep everything into the office for refrigeration in the morning and then schlep it all back to the car after work before I go help her shower. My dear sweet brother (aka Worthless) thinks it’d be easier if I just rent my house, euthanize my cat, and move in with GM so I can take care of her more efficiently! For some reason, he and his wife (both retired and 5 minutes away) have much too much to do to help much. Bah, I say… bah! My LawnBoys are busily engaged. I think they’ll do a good job; it sure looks a lot better already! Mary – I’m glad you finally got your bathroom finished, and I’ll bet you are, too!! Any decision on a trip to AZ? Is anyone still bothered by the time change? I’m sleeping okay, insofar as duration… but the nightmares are something else! I normally don’t remember dreams, and I certainly don’t wake myself up with them, but there’s something going on… and I’m going to blame the time change! There was a blurb on the news the other night that heart attacks go up 10% in this first week of Spring time change because of the sleep disruption… so I guess I’m not making this up, right? Isabella – where are the pictures of the $100 birthday cake??? Did I miss them? PT/Zoe – are you still looking at the end of May for retirement? How’s your one-a-day plan coming along? Lynn – I’ll be interested to hear the stories about DD’s Alaskan adventures! I saw your email on the recipe exchange and will get with it… I haven’t had any luck at all with those, and I hope that this group will participate better than the general public does! I LOVE recipes! And good-o on your doctor’s report! Marie – how are you doing, girlie? You should be feeling pretty perky soon… and how long is your sick leave? I hope they get your hormones regulated soon. I was just 36 when I got spayed, and I was so lucky that I had NO menopausal side effects… and I cut myself off the hormones about 15 years ago. I had to go to the doctor to get them renewed, and you all know how I feel about THAT. I noticed no difference, one way or the other. Rosey – I noticed your weight squigglie and see that you’ll be at 200# in a mere 37#! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!! Rie – how goes the battle? Yes, I’m still doing my morning stretches, am afraid to NOT do them! Sometimes on the weekends, I’ll skip one of the days, because I rarely have much problem when I’m at home… and it feels just heavenly when I resume the stretches the following day. I hope I can keep this at bay for the next 40 years (OMG, the women in my family live for bloody forEVER); they are NOT hacking and slashing me again. Freda – yo! Always glad to see you. CK – is tomorrow the closing(s)? Good thoughts, good thoughts! Bobbi – your stories about your MIL’s dementia/Alzheimer’s make me so sad. However, in her case, it’s karma, right? Didn’t you say she was a wicked, wicked woman? Well, I’m at the end of the posts. I hope I didn’t neglect anyone unduly! Newbies – you’re welcomed and welcome! I need to go do some of my own domestic drudgery (and check on the silence outside!). Hope you’re all having a good day… it’s 72 here!!! Later, lovelies!:hug: |

Hi. I haven’t been able to completely shake this sinus infection and I’m so tired. Workmen here in master bath. Getting a lot of dust in the air despite the plastic they hung. I moved upstairs to DS room. I gained so much weight while I was sick - and a little before. I could not stop eating either bad stuff or too much good stuff during my bewitching hours - basically all night long. Saturday night at DF house for cards - she had my favorite cupcakes - I had 3. These weren’t mini. And 3 varieties of M and Ms. She said “take some home” - so I did. I couldn’t figure out how to make myself stop with the late night eating. I had to think about how I did it the first time. Because of shoulder surgery I was stuck in my room, DH had to do all the cooking, I didn’t set foot in a grocery store, I started Ideal Protein and I had cleared my social calendar. So I’ve decided to do that. I didn’t have anything pressing for the rest of this week so I found subs for some of my activities that always have crack (goodies) around. Since Dh is retired I’m letting him deal with the workmen. I’m hiding at opposite end of house where I can breathe better. I’m not going to worry about all the things I should be doing, just devoting myself to getting back on track. I am a food addict and sometimes I just have to clear the decks. I made it through yesterday on plan. I got rid of the peanuts and peanut butter - actually I just finished them off Monday. I over eat those. After detox and being on plan, and getting to maintenance I can have them occasionally. I kept peanut butter out of the house for months. When I finally bought some, about a month ago, the first time DS stopped by, his eyes lit up, he sat down with the pb and crackers and looked very happy. The only thing we keep for him are some tortilla chips (which I asked DH to hide) and fresh salsa which is healthy and I don’t abuse anyway and frozen pizzas which I detest/ Like any addict I not only take it “one day at a time” in the evening, I take it one hour at a time. So that’s where I’m at. Hope this is not TMI! Hoping it helps me to write it down. Hope it doesn’t jinx me…
Lynn - so glad you got a good report from doctor! You must be so relieved. Karen 31 - I can’t imagine how hectic things are for you. The past week was hectic for me just picking out bathroom tile and moving my necessities from my bedroom up one floor to another room. Selling a house, buying a house and moving - aren’t those right behind death and divorce on the stress-o-meter? Isabella - very sorry about your back pain. Do whatever you can do to make it better. Hope you feel better quickly. Your DGS bday sounds adorable but cake is probably my favorite thing in the whole world. When my BFF or I are enduring stress we say to each other, “You need cake!” I actually love the one’s made from a box with canned frosting. To me (and my children) that’s “home made.” I would have to throw it out before I got it home. Everyone says, “Just put it in the freezer.” Like that’s going to stop me. They say the same thing about cookies and boxes of chocolate. First of all, it doesn’t take long for things like that to defrost. Second of all, some of those things taste great frozen. Third - I HAVE A MICROWAVE for goodness sakes. For those of you that can do that - more power to you. I can’t - cuz I’m a food addict. Bobbi - sorry you woke up with a migraine. I hope it gets better. I am not a medical professional but I do have allergies - if you think it is an allergy an antihistimine might help. I hope your not coming down with something. You have a lemon tree in Minnesota? Maybe indoors - does it get lemons on it? I know what you mean about the difference between dementia and Alzheimers though I can’t remember hearing an official explanation. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers years ago but to me it seems like dementia - the more gradual, short term memory loss. My mom has Alzheimers - with a faster onset and a component that is difficult to explain. It’s not just about memory but a some distortion in thinking and/or processing thoughts. Sounded kind of sad/cute when you told your MIL that Bruce lives with you and she was surprised. Rosey - You make me lol -”I’d hate to poison the old fart.” that will make me smile for the rest of the day. Marie - glad you’re feeling better. I wanted to get an Ipad a couple of years ago. My DH and DSs told me that I would be on my own because they don’t know Apple. Ended up with a net book which I loved for a while. After writing an email on the “word pad” and trying to post on 3 fc it posts all my old ones too. I can’t get rid of the old ones either. That was before you told me to not do the cut and paste - just copy and paste. I’m now on my old, huge laptop. It’s hot and heavy but I can figure out the copy thing most of the time. Oh, one year after we got the net book my DS bought an I Pad and loves it! Mother is always right. I do love my I Phone. I play Words With Friends a lot. Zoe - I started listening to books on tape when I had a long commute too. And they were essential when driving both DS to their colleges. About Henrietta - when my husband had cancer, one of the first things they ask you to sign now is permission to use your cells for research. Mary - that’s what I like about the book club - makes me “stretch” as a reader. Some of them are page turners. Some are not. Some of the women in the club don’t read the fun stuff. I, on the other hand, need some pure entertainment - especially on the stationary bike or elliptical. Rie - thanks for the tip - I googled the distance, wrote it down, forgot where I put it. I scare myself some days. I’ll do it again. How is your knee? Sorry this is so long. This is the first day where I wasn’t running around constantly so I got to catch up. I am letting myself do whatever I feel like so I won’t be tempted to eat just to relieve the tedium. |

Here are a few pictures of the cake and cupcakes. DGS is sitting by the cake before the party. They had it sitting on top of the freezer. The other two pictures were taken at the party.

Hi folks, just dashing through...thankfully, I have 2 huge orders, so am off to sew...and sew....and sew! will see you all again after the weekend.
Auto |
:mad::mad:I had a very bad afternoon. My computer crashed, I drove into town again to a guy that fixes cp's. He said it's not fixable, go buy a new one. He said Wal-mart had one made by Gateway that was on sale for $299. I purchased it, brought it home and tried to set it up. The mouse was permanently froze, got out all my 'computers for dummies' book and look for answers. It was the computer, packed up the piece of crap and took it back.
This time I purchased a HP, just set it up tonight and it's working but I am soooooooooo stressed over this. Where's my email? It's been so long since I had to set up an email address I've forgotten how. Do I call my internet server and they tell me how to do it? Which is the best email to use? Marie...I see you made a move on our game but I can't think straight right now. I'll make my move tomorrow, sorry. |
Freda, warm and sunny sounds so nice. I am jealous. Cloudy and drizzly here in the desert. I’m thinking it’s time to get my blue light of happiness out for SADD.
Mary, so happy that the house (aka ball and chain) will be out of your life and there’s no additional burden. Lucinda, non-food rewards are such a great thing. Carol Sue, I’m wary of any company that has “help” to get government assistance. I totally agree with CC. Bobbi, from my understanding of my allergies, the trees I’m allergic to is from the pollen – when they’re spreading their seeds of joy in the air. Not the leaves. Perhaps you got a migraine because you’re thinking to hard at Word. I think you should not put as much thought into it. Bobbi is consistently beating me… :( Isabella, on feeling better soon. I hope your back recovers quickly!!!! OMG on that cake. Your boy got a wedding cake for his birthday. I do see why it was $100. Looking at it, it was underpriced. Brenda, I’m so glad you didn’t take offense that I now see you draped in a sheet. :D Keeping my ovaries wasn’t a choice – keeping anything wasn’t a choice with the problem I’d had. I’d rathered just go through normal menopause but I do not, will not miss the pain. KarenMO, after you close on the house, get moved in and unpack the measuring cups for DH ;) , when will you be putting in the pool? Lynn, :carrot: I’m doing the happy dance for you. Donna, :carrot: that you got your post to post on 3FC. I’m doing well and want to play on my elliptical. I won’t, of course, but I will stroll gently on the treadmill. I started doing that on Sunday. And at today’s dr appt, he said I was doing great and keep up what I was doing. I figured he meant the slow strolls on the treadmill that I failed to mention. Rosey, our tax return went poof too. I think that’s what they do naturally. And it’s not warm here in this lower 48 state of Oregon. Deelee, I hope you’re able to get on track with the cleaning of the cupboards. I know that is helpful to many, many people. at I HAVE A MICROWAVE for defrosting goodies hidden in the freezer. BTW, I find playing Words with my iPhone is a little frustrating since the screen is small. The iPad doesn’t scrunch the screen to one area when you move a tile. You see the whole thing. But in a pinch, I will use the iPhone. And YESSSSS!!! I love fun books. I want to be entertained. I don’t read classics or the heavy stuff. Give me entertainment or I’ll doze off. KarenFL, I started listening to the Good Dog and I love the dog. So far I don't like the man. But the dog, just gotta love the smartie paws pup. Like how I refer to him as a pup instead of a fighter? Without a doubt I am a canine lover. A good day. Doctor visit where I was deemed right on schedule for recovery. Then allergy shots which hurt like the dickens. I hate those things. I swear they don’t have serum in the syringes. They have acid. DH had his and said, "nope I don’t feel anything". He does say he’s sorry my body reacts so nastily to them. Then we stopped at the store (another thing on the dr. no-no list) and I bought Oreos. Yes, I did. I enjoyed 3 of them and they are logged into LoseIt. I bought choc chips for making cookies. I wanted cookies. I told DH that as we waited for the doctor. Basically I said I didn’t want to diet today. Since we were in town, he suggested my fave restaurant that makes strawberry pancakes. I shook my head and said I wanted cookies. Then he said we had b-day cake in the freezer (thinking of you here, Deelee) and I shook my head and said I wanted cookies. Then he suggested the donut shop for a cinnamon roll. No, I WANT cookies. So I had my 3 oreos and am a happy camper. I no longer even want a choc chip cookie. Best 160 cals that I’ve spent. What was cool about the whole thing, I knew what I wanted and didn’t eat around it, trying to satisfy the craving. That’s what I used to do and would waste more calories than if I’d had what I wanted. Some days acting like an adult is sort of cool. Then my friend/co-worker came over so I could train her on a new system our district bought and I took training for on Monday. We chatted and she understood the system well when we were done. She’s training the administrators in my place tomorrow afternoon. She doing some of my other work. I asked her if she liked doing part of my job and she rolled her eyes. By far, she is the most talented computer tech I’ve ever worked with. She said the other techs were mad I keep choosing her to cover my job. I shrugged and said I wanted it done right and she laughed. I do realize I am causing a problem showing favoritism but I’m not sure I care. I have valid arguments for my choices if I’m ever confronted on it. Arguments no one could dispute. Plus I got to see my friend and she stayed for lunch. That was cool. Marie |
Bobbi, setting up your email depends mostly on your email provider. My guess is your new computer has Outlook Express on it. Just go to Tools>Accounts and set up a new account. If your provider is a major one, it will sort of wizard you through it. If not, call your ISP for the exact info to put in each field. I'm sorry about your computer woes. And I am perfectly fine waiting until tomorrow to play Words.
|
Isabella - that is one VERY handsome little man! I loved the cake and cupcakes and think that it was well worth the $$$.
Everyone, onward! |
I got Tim home!! YAY!! I left at the same time his plane left Dallas BUT I stopped at Shakes and had me a Butterscotch Concrete!!! OH YES I DID!!! That was my supper!! Then got to the airport about 15 minutes before his plane landed. He said the funeral services for his Dad were very nice, saw a lot of family and they took his Mom's ashes and scattered them behind their old house in Mass! So I've decided that he can do all the fretting and worrying now about the house---I'm too tired to worry anymore!! Next week this should all be a nightmare memory!!!
|
Good Morning! A little cool (64) and cloudy here this morning! Got a busy day ahead of us today and I am so happy that Tim is back here to help with all this "Stuff"!! Have two closings and a move to get through...Hopefully we will just have showers to deal with and will appreciate the clouds today! Have a good day everyone!
|
Just checking in for a minute, have only skimmed the post. I called our server and set up my email account just now. This new computer HP is so much nicer than my HP that crashed. I've much to learn on it, now I have to set up my printer. Unfortunately I lost my MIL checking account and our checking account plus all my pictures are gone:mad: No, I didn't have them backed up. Starting from scratch on everything. I have to pay bills today and need to set up a new account, go online to see what bills are clears, blah, blah, blah.
Marie...I'll go put a word in our game first and you are a fantastic player. I beat Bruce all the time...playing with you really is a challenge. I love it! Later everyone, KarenMo...happy Tim is back home. |
Good morning all....I am so tired of getting error signs etc. Just tried to shrink picture of a box of the new books from DS's editor and getting the message. Then come here and get the message....Take BP and get error 3....gee...have they cancelled the world and forgot to tell me?
Funny thing....Our best friends flew to Fl for their DD's birthday and Dh's buddy was on the same flight. He must have been totally shocked as he keeps his travels secret. Imagine he'll be down to visit them soon. Thanks Zoe....I forgot about his shaved legs....giggled all day after remembering. Used the new program last night with tv...have to relearn listening to tv as I heard sound effects that have been missing for years. My left ear is so bad I can't hear the beep that says level has changed...so will have that fixed next trip in. Like the remote control but still not sure about tv connection. Still have 3 weeks to decide. Possible fish fry tonight....iffen they catch the fish! Defrosting anyway....after all these years I never trust the mighty hunter to provide dinner! Marie...Wish you were reading One Good dog. It was one of the few books that really grabbed me. All the way to the last page..... Karen...Can't believe how quickly you are getting moved. Isabella...Cake was great, but DGS is a sweetie. No kissing gramma? Thought that started at 7. When all girls are yucky! Bobbi...you devil you....I know you were smiling when you told MIL that he was living with you. Just realized it was on FB that I reported new hearing stuff. Anyway they are digital and actually wireless and the audiologist just sits with cp and changes things. I hear tv with a router and have decided i am now a walking ipod! Old joke about at tpaper that i won't repeat!!!!!!!! Donna...Is your brother's name Alex? Because you descibed my brother/wife. They only thing he ever did on his own was DM's birth date on headstone...and got it wrong. She was born 1912 and he had 1913 engraved. Can't make a 3 back into a 2. weather down here is beautiful today afte a booming thunder stowm last night. Yup had aids in...wowzer! As Bobbi says am burning sunlight....k3 |

Hi Golden Girls -
Made it through last night. Whew. It is showing up on the scale. I’m feeling guilty for not accomplishing anything with my day - but losing weight is an accomplishment. Lynn - Funny cake! Isabella - adorable DGS! Cake beautiful. Marie - Did you know that March 6 was the 100th birthday of Oreos? If I could eat just 3 - and forget about the cake in the freezer - I wouldn’t keep regaining and having to lose the same 10 lbs. I agree that Words on the I Phone is small. I know I would have loved that I Pad. I’ll get one this year. Can you skype on that? I was part of a group skype - with my book club. It was very fun. Of course there are times when I don’t want the person on the phone to see what I look like - probably most times. Okay - I’m getting bored. I may have to leave my little sanctuary and venture out in the world. I should go to the health club. But I got in the habit of stopping at Mc Donald’s for an Oreo Cookie Mc Flurry on the way home - all that coughing, sore throat - it felt good. This whole thing is a mind game with me. Well, have a nice day everyone. |
the month of march was a busy month 100 years ago. in addition to oreos first being made in march, it's also been 100 years since the founding of the girl scouts.

Hi everyone i found out that we are going to a funeral on sat. thus begins the mad dash for appropriate clothes. I dont have any dress clothes and sweats and flannel are a no no. then i remembered i had bought this pretty dusty pink sweater and a tank to go under it but at the time didnt fit. so i tried it on and my dh said i looked great :carrot: a nsv :D for sure. im posting a picture. it will look great with black dress pants and shoes. please excuse the mess i was doing laundry ttfn rosey
|
Very pretty rosey, won't be long until that doesn't fit.
I'm coming up for air, didn't get outside at all today...been putting in programs that I lost on the cp. I have two Hallmark card programs that I use all the time, didn't get those done or my checkbook. I'll be working on those tomorrow, right now I'm crashing. Promise... I'll read all the post tomorrow. |
Rosey love your smile !
|
Very quick hola... Rosey - that color looks great on you! YOU look great!!!
KarenFL - I'll see what I can do. |
KarenMO, since I’m two hours behind you, I will guess that the closings are done and you’re finishing the moving. Yes, next week, life will be easier for you.
Bobbi, I might be good but you’re better – you keep winning. :dizzy: KarenFL, I’m about 2 hours into A Good Dog. I still don’t like Adam. :p So far he’s still an arrogant XY chromosome and I’d have like the judge throwing him into the slammer. I do like that doggie though. Wowza on your DB getting mom’s birth year wrong. Hello? Check and Double Check… Brenda, go to shrinkpictures dot com and save it to be the max size of 500 kb. Lynn, I love the Walmart cake. Especially the conversation “This be Walmart.” Rosey, the daughter that is coming is the one from OR. Right? And they’re moving up to AK permanently and driving there starting Saturday? She’s in my thoughts. Hard time to be driving/moving. I love the sweater and tank. Congrats on the NSV. Your DH is 100% right. Deelee, I saw that the Oreo was 100 years old on the package. Such yumminess. I don’t think there is a Skype app for iPad. Apple has a built-in iChat so they would never let a competitor have an app on their website. :o Ciecie, maybe during the first years, the Girl Scouts sold Oreos. As far as my life as a couch potato goes – I worked all darn day. I think I put in 9 hours. I don’t plan to do that again. Way too long and it took away my nap. As I’m not tired, that should be ok, but still, I’m on leave. I had one of those cute little Oreos today. Yummy. I think tomorrow I’ll make chocolate chip cookies. Or maybe not. Who knows what craving will take me over tomorrow.:D Marie |
Donna...Thank you....Had too many years as pysch nurse not to be concerned. k3

they could have sold oreos during the first five years. my favorite girl scout cookies when i was growing up were savannahs-the peanut butter cookie, chocolate and vanilla cremes-especially chocolate and thin minst.

Ciecie, I'm thinking discussing GS Cookies might be bad. I always loved Thin Mints. Just in recent years had I tried Samoas and learned of their goodness. Sadly (but probably it is a good thing) I can no longer have any GS cookies because I had a soy reaction to Samoas and the package said "Made in a plant with peanuts and soy" or something like that. Since I'm deathly allergic and did have a reaction, I can't have their product again unless they take care against cross contamination. But I sure did enjoy those Samaos for a couple years.

With St Patrick's Day coming up, I'm thinking about my late MIL. She passed away 7 years ago. Right before Valentine's day we received a card from her...I recognized her handwriting on the envelope. I was confused, because she didn't usually send us a valentine card. I opened it up and it was a St Patrick's day card. We told her son who lived with her that she was a little early with the card and we all had a little chuckle over it. They are not Irish, they are Slovak, but she got the cards from the church, because of St Patrick. She didn't realize when St Patrick's Day actually was, so she sent the cards out right after she got them. Do you know, she passed away on March 14, and her funeral was on St Patrick's Day! How weird was that? It's like she knew she wasn't going to be here so she wanted to make sure the cards went out. So now I always think of her around St Patricks Day, and we talk about the story of the card.

Good Morning, just a quick comment before I get going on my day. I picked up "One Good Dog" a couple days ago since you've all been talking about it. Had a hard time with the beginning of the book. The dog fighting really bothers me and I hate, hate, hate thinking of the cruelty of pit bulls or any breed of dog trying to kill each other. Thankfully I'm pass that and Adam is just visiting the hospitals looking for Jupiter. I really wanted to just sit and read this morning but much awaits me on cp, laundry and thinking up something for supper.
Marie...I'd like to slap his kid and Sterling the ex, this author has a way of putting me right into the story. I love when I run across an author that keeps me reading. Originally Posted by : |
