Mary, congrats on the good day! Only one carb over is very good!
Tera, I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend. And an upcoming wedding. I bet those last 6 pounds will be annihilated with that as an incentive.
Yesterday's calories were 1432 and I ellipticalled.
Today's will be 1304 and I doggie walked before work. As of now, I'm done eating for the day because of the colonoscopy tomorrow. So I totally binged for my breakfast. Who'd have thought in 4 hours I could consume 1300 cals??? It was actually sort of fun. I really had no idea a medium, non-fat no whipped cream white chocolate mocha at Starbucks would be 400 cals. That's ludicrous. At least I won't do that again. Bur regardless, I will finish my calories under my daily amount. Stuffed to the gills at the moment and will be starving later on. Good thing I don't eat like this often.
Marie
Marie-Good for you for getting the colonoscopy. Congrats on the great calories and all the exercise. You are doing great.
Todays cals-1880. Exercise was 60 minutes of strength training class at the Y. I was just hungry from the moment I got up this morning so I ended up going out for lunch and it was a bit high in calories. I feel a little better tonight but it has just been a crazy week.
Tera, how did FAC go today? Know what is cool? After your long weekend you got back on track. Great job.
I had the colonoscopy today. After the owie prep last night, only .8 pound gone. Bet it comes back. Today my cals are 1062 and I just can't eat anymore so we'll be low. That is just fine. Maybe only .6 will come back.
Marie
FAC was too many calories again. I ate like 700 calories in sesame sticks. I am ready to admit defeat and add them to my list of Food to Eat Only on Rare Occasions.
Marie-Nice to have that over with I imagine. The low calories can't hurt your weight loss efforts this week.
maryea-Good job with the cals. Hang in there on the carbs-those guys are trouble!
Tera, back away from the sesame sticks. Think of it this way - you work all week to have a negative calorie intake and those little suckers are destroying your hard work. Could you have your DH dole out 100 cals worth and take them away?
Mary, I like pun. I giggled. I had weird problems from the procedure. Because of the anesthesia problem, the mask used pushed my lower teeth into my lip and I cut through on the inside. So my lips was numb and bleeding. I have a mini-fat lip today. The mask also left a bruise on the ridge of my nose. DH asked "And what end did they do the procedure from?!?!?" since my face hurt. Then because I had a tummy tuck two years ago and the muscle was tightened super tight, the gas that they expand with left my stomach full of painful cramps yesterday since the stomach can't expand anywhere. So my experience was a little funky.
Today my cals are 1442. DH has agreed that it is easier when we're home together (weekends) to eat two meals a day. Since I get up early, I have my mocha early, then we have brunch and dinner. That has made staying on track for weekends so much easier. We exercised together this morning too. He used the elliptical and I did interval training on the treadmill. I figure I won't be doing the HIIT for a few months now, but it was fun to do job intervals. Just not fun enough to want to do them regularly.
Marie
marie.. you have an elliptical and a tred mill? That is so awesome. i am trying to convince my dh to just suck it up and buy me , I means us, a tredmill . tell me about the one you have. should I get the same one too?
Lucinda, my treadmill is from Costco. I bought it about 6 years ago and it is an Epic. I paid $699 for it. I've been very happy with it except the hassle of getting it home. It is heavy duty and weighs a ton. My elliptical is a Sole and I bought it from Amazon after tons of research. Free shipping and it also weighs a ton. I paid $1399 for it 3 or 4 years ago. Sole really stands behind their product. Without hesitation, I'd spend the elliptical money again and would be so-so on the treadmill. The elliptical can be credited with me getting off a nasty plateau when I was losing my fat weight. It shredded 20 pounds pretty darn quickly. It's easy on my knees, back and hips. A multiple broken wrist cause some discomfort when I use my arms so I take breaks with the arms and just use the legs or one arm. What I do know for me is that because I have my good exercise equipment, I use it. A gym membership never worked for me because it took too much time.
I'm right on track today. I will end the day at abou 1400 cals if I ever decide to have dinner. I ellipticalled this morning and cut out stained glass after work. Now my hands are tired because of grasping the scribe (see above wrist problems). But it was fun as I finished an audiobook.

Todays cals-1730 and exercise was 60 minutes of step class at the Y. The next few days should be golden. I made chicken soup yesterday to eat all week and my husband is out of town until Friday. I am hoping to get myself to a place where I can carry it through the weekend for a change. The scale seems to be heading the right direction so that is encouraging.
Marie-Another good day-nice job. Stained glass sounds cool. Are you creating something special?
Hi Lucinda. Nice to see you checking in. How are you doing?
Tera, I bet you can carry the good eating through the weekend. I found that days with DH, it works so much better to have brunch and dinner instead of breakfast, lunch and dinner. The two meals makes it easy for me to stay in my calories. I'm currently making (very slowly as I have run out of windows) a stained glass panel of my two youngest dogs in a mountain/lake scene. When I created the pattern, I went a little overboard and it's really big. So I must portion out my fun time with the project like I portion out my calories so I don't finish too fast.
I finished the day yesterday at 1316 cals and the elliptical workout. I wasn't in the mood for dinner so I had a little bowl of Quaker Oat Squares. Fast and easy. I was too busy playing.

Todays cals-1730 Exercise 60 minutes at the y for strength training.
Marie-Eating two meals is a great idea. I try that once in a while but I really want three meals a day. I am one serious creature of habit. I am thinking I will make myself measure my snack food this weekend. I have been eating snacks right out of the package. To be honest, I do it on purpose so I don't have to limit myself. Time to stop misbehavin.
1440 calories but 15 carb servings. I have been focusing on my calories mostly recently. I know now that I can keep to my calorie limit if I really try esp when I work out, so now I'm going to try and eliminate some of my snacks as that's where I'm getting too many carbs. I usually do fine with my meals. Amazingly my bs was great today, but I know I have to be spiking when I get more than 3 carbs at a meal/snack. I truly thank God that my diabetes (so far) is not too bad considering how I have abused my body with my overeating. I think it is time I get control of it, so wish me luck!
ETA: Forgot to say I worked out today - 28 min on stationery bike at TEN and 15 min on treadmill at 3 plus three weight machines at one set of 12 reps on one and two sets of 12 reps on two.
todays cals-1675 exercise-60 minutes step class at the Y
Awright maryea! Another great calorie day. I am glad you are considering making your health a top priority. No doubt control of your cals and carbs will help with your weight loss at the same time it is improving your bs levels.
I have one more day of structured meals before my husband returns from his business trip and plus my daughter will be home for spring break. We have a dinner party planned for Saturday night and goodness knows what else. However, I saw 143 on the scale again today and I do not want to blow that. I know I can do this if I keep my weight loss goals in mind.
Mary, I know you can do it. Mary's right - controlling your calories will help you bring the carbs into control as well as your blood sugar. Great workout.
Tera, WTG on the 143. I swear seeing progress on the scale is the biggest motivator. BTW, I'm hosting a party on Saturday as well. Not my type of thing but it's DH's 50th b-day on the 8th, two days post-surgery and I'm not hosting it after surgery. So I have about 17 people coming over. That is hard for an introvert.
Calories will end at about 1300 cals today and I did an elliptical workout this morning. Hectic, stressful day. But I did get the humungous table saw box wrapped this evening for DH's b-day. That thing was BIG and hard to wrap. I should count it as weight lifting exercise.
