Gayle, the egg casserole is 6 eggs, whatever 1/2 bag of frozen veggies I have in the freezer, diced; a few slices of onion, diced; some shredded cheese (< 1/2 a cup, probably). Sometimes I'll fry up some turkey sausage if I have it and add it. Add about 1/8 cup of water (to make it fluffy, unless you have some club soda to add). Scramble everything well. I have some garlic/pepper spice which I add or seasoned salt. 8 x 8" pan, 400 degrees for 40-45 minutes. I slice it into 6 pieces, about 200 calories. Of course, you can spice it however you'd like; I just like it kind of mild.

Yummy sounds good!!! I may have to try this! I think I may need a break away from my slimfast for awhile. Although I like it, I may need a change.

Good evening GG's,

Two days down ~ one to go ~ then off the weekend. Yippee

Got out on time tonight, so have had a nice relaxing evening.

Sorry I haven't posted much lately ~ been "stuff" going on (family idiots ~ Jerry Springerish stuff) and I felt like the less I talked about it and thought about it, maybe things would die down.

Watching a movie here tonight ~ had seen it before ~ called "New in Town" A girl from Florida had to go to Minnesota for her job. It is snowy and cold there ~ maybe seeing that snow on TV will trick me into feeling like it is cooler than it is. It stays hot ~ even at night ~ is still 96* here at 9pm.

Maybe more later

Hope you all are having a nice evening.

Take care

Hey Y’all,
Just a quick pop-in to say Hi! This clear liquid diet hasn’t been too bad, especially after I figured out we could have popsicles (though I’ve only had 2 so far!). We started on Wed., after lunch, & SO has his colonoscopy at 1PM tomorrow, so it will be for a total of 2 days. It’s been sort of like an adventure, trying to figure out what was ok to eat, & getting out my good dishes to eat on, to make it seem “special”. And, I let myself have apple juice! I really like it but, it’s usually a “no-no” because I don’t like to drink my calories. I’m hoping maybe I’ll delete a pound or two, because my calories for today should only come to around 800. And, yesterday was around 1200, & I hope tomorrow will be about the same. I do admit to a lot of “stomach growling”, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. And, hey, it’s only for 2 days!

Well, I did say this would be quick, I’ve got to finish filling out SO’s paperwork for tomorrow. And, I want to make some more jello for in the morning, & some snacks for us to eat on the way home from the dr.’s. I know we’ll be “starving”! And, then I’m going to have a banana popsicle! Maybe even two! Turns out I don’t have to miss my nighttime snack after all!

Goodnight GGs. And I hope everyone has a great weekend! I hope to be busy, because there’s a lot of outdoor activity taking place in this area for the next week or two. And, the weather’s supposed to be cooler, so I plan to get out & enjoy it!

Hello Goldens!

How is everyone tonight? I had a pretty good day today and I am looking forward to the weekend. I have to work at home tomorrow and get some reports done but it never really seems like work when I am at home. Hoping to get in at least one 3 mile walk done this weekend in prep for my 5k next month. I think I wanna be Lynn when I grow up. There is a chopped marathon on the food network and I am liking that.

Lynn, is your foot feeling better? One of my friends suggested that I get walking shoes. I have been just wearing cross trainers. I have a wide foot. What do you wear?

Gayle, I know that movie - I watched it on netflix. I forget who the male lead is, but he is really cute! Enjoy your evening and relax!

Donna, the egg dish sounds yummy. I am so glad that you are enjoying the job and Samcat is surviving.

Mary, WTGYou are really back on track. I am impressed that you stayed on plan so well on your trip.

Marie, I hear you on the alone time. I have a very big solitary time need. Glad that you have the doggies for company. Have you been swimming much lately? You haven't talked much about your workout adventures.

karenfl, oh, eat some peach cobler for me please! I would so love to have some! Is your infection still getting better/

Koala, I love your battle with the wii. The first night we brought it home, 31yr old ds and I were doing the fitness test. I tested at 39yr old and he tested at 46. (I have better balance than he does). He said, "Oh man - that sucks mom!" I wasn't secretly pleased, I was dancing around the room in a boogie dance.

Hey Lyn, how was the event in the park?

Sherry, nice to hear from you. It sounds like you are enjoying your company,

Hi Karen31, Did you get the RV all set up? I am sure that it will be fun to travel in that. It is so luxurious!

Bobbi, I hope that today was a nice celebration of dad I am sure hoping that you find answers to your headaches soon.

I hope that I haven't missed anyone. Have a really good evening.

Talk about weeks that FLY by!!!!! I can hardly believe it's Friday already! Yesterday, especially, was busy, busy, busy.... One of my colleagues who works as a development consultant has just landed a job that he can't possibly manage on his own - a two year-long capital campaign for a huge church up in Vermont that wants to expand and build a community center on land that they own. Relatively modest for Jack and I (we raised over $100 mil in Boston for a community center) - just $10 mil. I, of course, am still working as a paid employee for my company, but not for another two years (I'm planning to be out of there by next April on my birthday) so I told Jack I'd give him some part-time hours at the start of the campaign (October of this year) and bump up my hours some when I retire from full-time work. Upshot is that I had to establish a DBA - "doing business as" - business certification at City Hall, and then open a separate checking account "for my business". This is so I can work as an independent contractor rather than his employee. So, dropping off my car at the mechanic's for it's new brakes and to fix my horn (loose wire - dh says from "overuse! ) and then getting this business thing settled took most of the morning. Then dh dropped me at the lake (he had some errands to run) from 11:30 to 1:30, and then he picked me back up and we went to the hospital from 2:00 to 4:30, and then we stopped by a community fair where dd3's organization had a booth, and then we went and paid for my car, but left it at the shop while we went shopping for a lavender dress shirt for dd to wear at the wedding (he's wearing a black suit with a black tie with little tiny purple-ish polka dots). Finding the shirt took three stores and about an hour and a half, and then I stopped at the market on the way home, and THEN had to run out again to pick up my BP medication which I'd completely forgotten to do. Home at 8:30 PM, too beat to eat. Had two weight watchers raspberry/chocolate popsicle-thingies and called it a day.
Today, dh is at Old Sturbridge Village playing the local banker, and I am gloriously alone until dd2 comes home with the baby sometime after lunch. I'm making some American chop suey with ground turkey meatballs and turkey sausage for their supper tonight. I'll set aside some sauce for myself so I can have my eggplant "meat"balls rather than the turkey ones. I'm also boiling some chicken breasts for chicken salad. PLUS I plan to head down to the lake for a couple more hours. I'm back at work on Monday - until my time off for the wedding - so I need to get in as much lake time as I can when I can. It rained here Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.
Gayle, that sounds like a movie that I'd enjoy - dh not so much. He prefers something "educational", or "informative", or (in his words) "at the very least gives you at least something worth thinking about". MEN. Oh, well, at least he doesn't drag me off to movies with a lot of violence and car chases and such. We both hate those! Has anybody seen "Water for Elephants"? That was a super movie, and it actually made me go out and buy the book. Highly unusual for a movie to be that good, in my opinion.
Rie/Val, if anybody could manage to get younger than their kids, my money would be on you! (Darn, if I were your kid, I'd feel a little grumbly as well ) Thanks for your wise words concerning my anguish over the pictures and all. I really WAS emotionally and physically exhausted, and am seeing things in a better light at this point. Thanks for caring!
Nancy, it sounds like you're having entirely too much fun with that pre-so-colonoscopy cleanse. Actually, I think you're just euphoric because the dsd finally left! Have fun with the outdoor events, girlfriend...kick up your heels and celebrate being set free (so to speak)!
What's up with you, MustangK - enjoying your last few weeks of summer?
PT - as for the poster-sized picture of me with Isabella, I'm not so sure. We were looking at some pictures of me with Devon when he was born 9 years ago, and I sure was younger! Eeek! Oh, well, I'm not all that bothered by it (honest) - I just tell myself that 9 years ago I was about 10 years away from retirement whereas now <sigh of relief> I'm just months away! Yay! (How's your new job going?)
Oh yes, Mary...never a dull moment, is there? Always something happening with one kid or another. Babies, weddings, new houses, somebody sick, somebody graduating, somebody performing, somebody doing something! And speaking of somebody performing, that video clip of your dd was fabulous, Lyn! A very talented young woman indeed!
Karen3, peach cobbler has got to be one of my all-time faves! Lucky I'm not living near you - I'd be tempted, probably, to sneak over one night when you were sleeping and steal a pan full all for myself!
Marie, I have so little time alone that I've gotta say I really envy you! Dh's are fine, well and good, but they don't leave you with much time to think, or just relax and pamper yourself some. So, even though you'll (sometimes) miss him, I say enjoy your time while you have it!
Lynn, I'm past my somewhat emotional hiccup thankfully; those two simply aren't worth it. I was tired, tired, tired, and irritated with everything at that point. Thanks for your expression of concern, though - you know that it means a lot to me to know you-all understand and care. Same for you, MustangK - Lordie, I feel like I've known you two forever!
Hiya Rosey! Glad things are working their way out with dh. You handle things a lot more calmly (and probably more effectively) than I do. I get kinda nasty when someone (dh) tries to be a smart-a** with me .
No going behind the barn and doing any shooting, Bobbi. Those dumb-a** doctors need to use those diagnostic skills they got tested on in medical school and figure out what's going on! This is ridiculous! Oh, I just HATE thinking of you trying to do so much with a miserable headache wearing down on you. I sure hope you get some real relief soon.
Hiya Freda - how's things? And Koala - thanks for the congrats (aw, shucks...I didn't do nuttin') - My IzzieBee is a cute lil' ole gal, and that's a fact. I'll have to post some more pics once they get her home and into her sweet little nursery.
Catch y'all later - have a great day, Golden Girlies!

The guys are here installing our two largest windows...living room and dining area. They were suppose to come at 9 am and we got up at 8 thinking we had an hour to get ready for them (move furniture, remove curtains/blinds) and we had hardly gotten dressed when they were ringing the doorbell! But I'm glad they came early so we can get that over with and onto other things. It's a nice day today and hopefully we will get a lot done around here.

I stayed OP yesterday and was hoping my weight would fall at least a bit but it's the same. Last year at this time I was 4# lower.. Oh well, I'm not gaining at least and I'm sure it will fall again in time! Breakfast was 1/3 cup (before cooking) oatmeal with 1/2 med. fresh peach and 2 t. brown sugar and 1 T NF milk.

Z - I'm impressed by your involvement in business ...I wouldn't have a clue...hope you don't get too busy in "retirement" though! Unless that is what you enjoy. My dh and I have no problem not working but I know some people need to work some. When my dh first retired he did some maintenance work part-time at a mall in Portland, I was so glad when he quit that..but later he had an HVAC business. Finally quit that too as it was hurting us with the taxes. By the time we paid the taxes he was making very little was working hard! It is so nice now to be doing nothing! LOL

Wannabe - Glad WW is working for you.

Rie - You and Lynn my walking heros! I do love to walk but not alone and dh won't walk outside anymore here at home. So when home my walking is restricted to the treadmill. When we travel we do walk more outside.

Nancy - yep popsicles definitely make it better! Of course I'd want to slip in a few fudgsicles too but that's probably not allowed.. Good luck to your SO, hope the report is good. At least the test is SO much easier than it used to be.

Glynne - I haven't seen that movie. I'll check it out. It's cooler here now and I was hoping you that have been so hot might be getting a break too.

Karen31 - I like Slim-Fast too and drink it often. It's great for a mini-meal.

Donna - I snagged your recipe...thanks! Yes, I'm glad to be home. There wasn't a whole lot to do in Lynden and I like to keep busy. I am happy that I actually lost weight on the trip though...I've only done that one other time.

Time to reboot the laundry..

[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][COLOR="Teal"Happy Friday Goldens!

This morning I walked 3.3 miles at a 15min/hour pace. It felt pretty good. I think I will be ready for the 5k next month. I have short little legs so it is hard to walk very fast. I just want to focus on walking faster because I don't want to be holding the others back. Lynn, what is a good time for a mile?

I weighed in this morning and I am down one pound this month. I am happy with that for a couple of reasons: Due to scheduling, it has only been about 3weeks since the July weigh in. I was on vacation for 11 of those days and enjoying quite a few treats. I was almost anticipating a gain so the loss is good. It has been a long time (20 years +) since my weight was in the 170's. I am just over a month away from one year since the start of my journey. I want to really hit it hard and see what I can get done. But, I am pretty happy if I just continue to lose as I live this way. I also will be going to the county fair and having treats with my dad next week.

Ds is working til 9 tonight and then has plans with friends. I am spending the day with little guy. I want to get some work done in the garden and have some play time. Going to talk to friends about maybe hitting the drive in movie or catfishing tomorrow night.

I will be back this evening for personals.

About NMDJ’s – I decided that they will be my reward if I finish the ½ marathon within 4 hours. BTW – I first tried on size 12 P and they were too big. The size 10 P fit perfectly.

About my shoes – I wear Asics. Rie, you ABSOLUTELY need good running shoes. What size are you? If you are walking fast and/or running, you need to get at least 1 size larger for your running shoes. Yesterday and today I wore these new wider shoes. So far I have not had the pain problem, but I also didn’t go over 5 miles each day. I will know better on Sunday when I will be doing 8 miles.

Tonight I am taking my DD & SIL to a new Japanese restaurant. I think it is the kind where they cook the food in front of you. I’ll let you know. I am looking forward to shrimp and veggies.

I talked with the LLS director about my volunteering work. We are going to have a meeting next week to plan a different role for me. I feel MUCH better. I know I am being arrogant, but I really do want to use my experience and knowledge – I do NOT want to stuff envelopes. Sometimes it is just better to choose to feel guilty.

Take care Everyone,

Lynn

Donna, I rememer having Grand Junction peaches when I was a teenager. They are the best peaches I've had with the exception of the ones I had in Thailand.

Nancy, you're a good partner to go through the liquid diet with SO. I'm thinking I wouldn't.

Val, yep I'm still swimming, ellipticalling and doggie hiking. Although the doggie hiking is reduced since DH and I are alternating days since he wen tto swing shift. I'm sort of liking ellipticalling in the morning instead of walking every day.I just figured since I do the same thing every day, you all probably didn't need to hear about it. I'd be able to use copy/paste for my posts.

Zoe, LOL, LOL, LOL at overusing your horn. I can so see that with you.

Hi to everyone I missed. Work is hectic so I must get back to it.
