Hello everyone. Well, I think the house deal is a done deal now. We agreed to have an electrician come in and put in some half breakers (or whatever it was they wanted) and signed the inspection notice and emailed it back, they signed and we have the complete copy now. So they can't ask for anything more than what we have already agreed to and the closing is set for the end of the month.... I'll still be glad to have it all signed, sealed and delivered!!
We have had some really nice days here lately Up in the 70's and I'm not complaining. I called and postponed the opening of the pool. I was going to have them do it on the 15th before we left for Colorado but got to thinking that I really don't want it uncovered while we are gone where all the leaves and anything else can get in to it too. So they will come out and do it after we get back. I think that will be better. Darn! my C key just popped off my keyboard!! That isn't good! Guess I'll have to see how to fix that now! I'll get back to everyone later if it isn't too late. |
Hi Everyone,
Had a VERY nice Easter with my family. My sister's oldest DD had everyone at her house. Was a LOVELY day (not counting the drunken volleyball match - don't ask - just imagine). Yesterday and today spent almost the entire days grading papers. I REALLY wish I had turned down this class. Too much to do for Italy - I leave on April 15th. Knee is getting better & I've been doing pretty good with eating - not great, but not horrible either. Hopefully, I'll be able to check back tomorrow. Lynn |
Just got back from an afternoon Pilates class. It's week two. I can't believe what a workout it is! I'm quivering from the muscle exertion, but I feel very good. Before I left the house, I just wanted to take a nap, but a third of the way through the hour, I felt renewed energy and feel really alert now.
Made chicken cacciatore for dinner tonight. Yum! Just sneaked a little taste before dinner. It's not vegetarian, but it is entirely organic and grass-fed chicken. I had some lamb at Easter and I've been craving meat ever since. I did really well for Easter. Told myself I could eat exactly what I wanted, and I ended up having lots of asparagus, salad, and some lamb. I skipped dessert because I let someone else make it and it was awful! I should do that more often. Drunken volleyball...I so want to do Easter with you next year Lynn, just to watch that event! Karen, it's warmer in MO than it is in California this week. I'm still putting a jacket on in the mornings. Moose roast in the crock pot sounds wonderful, Rosey! I think I can smell it from California. I love game meat. I have a question to pose to all of you. I'm experiencing something new with the Pilates routine. I seem to be engaging emotions when I do Pilates, and I find that there are moments when I feel like crying while I'm exercising. I don't experience that when on the rowing machine or lifting weights. But perhaps, because the Pilates seems more body-conscious to me, I am briefly overcome by sadness and I struggle not to cry in class. After a few minutes, when my muscles are really engaged and I'm feeling the intensity of the workout, I want to cry for a whole other set of reasons (like "Ow! That hurts!"), and I let go of the emotions. I'm just puzzled by this. I don't have time to think it through in class, but I want to do the emotional work to figure this out. Any ideas, thoughts? Big hugs to everyone. |
Good Morning......on our way up to Minneapolis-St. Paul airport to pick up ex-SIL and our two grandsons. They will be here in a couple of hours from Can Cauns vacation, very windy here too. I hate that!
Below is another warning not to use plastic wrap. Catch ya all later. Quote:

Good morning gals. I seem to have missed yesterday altogether. We went to the city and purchased the baby a new car seat. This one should last him until he reaches almost 100 lbs. It's a 4 in 1 thing which turns into a booster seat for an older child. In our province all children under 100 (and there's a height requirement too which I'm not sure of) pounds have to be in an approved booster seat. I have a few more pounds to lose and I'll be officially in the booster seat weight range. hahaha. I'm not losing that much. I'm having enough trouble losing the last 10 pounds.
We went to Costco yesterday, too. That store has so many things in such large quantities. I try and restrain myself but I did end up spending just over $50 on a handful of items. DH just looked and couldn't believe I'd spent that much on so little. One of the items was a bag of dried blueberries. They are so expensive at home for just a wee, little bag. I got a larger bag for $9 which last me for a long time. I have loads of frozen blueberries but sometimes I'd like to use the dried in a salad or in a few buns. I also found the large container of the lite Laughing Cow cheese for $8. That was like buying 2 regular sized boxes and getting one free. That stuff is expensive, too. Then we went to Walmart where DS bought the car seat and I bought the baby a little hoodie, shirt and jeans. We ate at DIL's mother's house and then came home. Yesterday was a really bad eating day and not because of eating out. I don't want to even discuss it other than to say I'm off food today so far. The weather is so cold today, again. DH and I walked just a little while ago and my hands are still cold even though I wore gloves. The wind was really blowing. We (or should I say I followed DH) wandered around a few car lots while we were out and I was ready to buy a new car just to get out of the wind. Hahaha. It's so funny to watch him look at the new cars and trucks. It's as if he's looking for the most expensive vehicle on the lot and then he makes a fuss about how expensive cars and trucks are. We aren't actually going to buy a new car but he likes to look. He even took a car out for a test drive last night. He plays with the salesmen like a cat with a mouse. Gets them all excited about a new sale and then he never buys. The last time we bought a new car was because the van we were driving literally fell apart on the highway. I looked at him and said, "I think it's time we got rid of this and buy a new car." He didn't put up much of an argument as we were almost stranded on the side of the road (we did manage to cripple home very slowly). That was our only real brand new car. We gave it to DS last summer when he got married and have another used car that we originally purchased as a second car. The funny thing was, we sold the old van and the person who bought it put in a new transmission and drove it around for several more years. DH might have done that himself except I kinda had blood in my eye when we broke down. Anyhoo, as Scarlet said, "After all, tomorrow is another day!" Catch you all later. |
Good Morning, All...
Well, you're all perky and cheery today! Karen, glad the house annoyance is nearly over! And I'll make sure there are some nice temps for you when you come to Colorado! It's snowing here, but just a teensy amount, and I think it'll be gone within a few hours. Nothing is sticking to the sidewalks or streets. Got on the hated scale and am holding steady. That's a very good thing, especially considering Easter and the evil temptations thereof! Disliked that picture of me very much... this one is a couple of years old, but those are my older and younger brothers. I love them! No news... all is well. Stay warm, dry, and safe... Lynn, just another week! Are you excited??? I am! |

Okay. I'm having a REALLY bad eating day. REALLY BAD. This is the first bad day I've had in a loooooong time. I mean REALLY, REALLY BAD! I ate my regular stuff...my yogurt with Fiber One & Blueberries for breakfast, my homemade chicken veggie soup and pita bread (60 calorie pita with extra fiber) and an orange for lunch, and then I ate this really rich, really gooey, really chocolatey BIG piece of cake. I don't understand why I can't just have a little nibble of something like that and be satisfied. No, I have to have a GREAT BIG piece, preferably more than one GREAT BIG piece. So far I've just had one, but it's in the employee coffee room, and I KNOW where it is.... :(
I refuse to beat myself up. I will be right back to counting everything that passed through my lips tomorrow, but I know that if I even attempt to calculate the calories that I consumed in that cake, it will be enough to make me miserable. SUCH a beautiful day, too...86 degrees at last check. I ate with some of my colleagues outside on a picnic table behind our building. Very pleasant. I ate my cake back at my desk all by myself. How dysfunctional is that, right? Ugh. Just one more thing to feel crabby about. Maxine is an all-around nice old gal compared to me, Bobbi. Gotta run. Had to report my terrible fall, tho. :grouphug: Z |
Hi Zoe dont beat yourself up i think we all have done that more than once..we are human; heck if it had been me i would have eaten the whole cake  just go back to what u know works..its actually hot with the sun streaming thru the windows..the dogs have been following the sun across the floor..sometimes on there back like having a suntan..our new wallmart opened this weekend i havent been yet but the pictures in the paper showed crouds of people..i have wanted a wallmart here for yrs..soo wonder what ill fix for dinner, feels like a no cooking nite lean cusines work for me..hoping u have a great evening rosey

Good Morning girls!
I heard New York hit the 90's yesterday, WOW! I'm jealeous. Zoe...I'm with rosey, If I cheat....I do it big time. I'd eaten more than one piece too. Jess...Good job on Easter. Our Easter/Birthday dinner is coming up on Saturday, we have a bone in ham to make which will retain all my water for a week and DH is baking a whole chicken for my bratty kid who won't eat ham/pork/pig. DH got lost yesterday while trying to find the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport but with some dumb luck found it. We've been there before but it's such a huge city and we're country bumpkins. The boys were all tan and excited about swimming with the dolphins. The rip tide in the ocean was scary, they averaged about 90 saves a day when people got out too far. With summer around the corner, I took myself off the Memorial day challenge as it was just a duplicate of the walking aross the country. I love that thread and learning so much about the area wherever I stop for the night. DH found another small gold mine of hunting stuff that I need to get pictures of and list on ebay so I better get crackin'. Below is a small article from Dr. Weil about keeping your mind active to ward off memory problems. Have a good day everyone. Quote:

Hello to everyone! I just went outside and found this beautiful tulip. I just had to get a picture of it and share. Everything is still on track with the house and it will close the end of the month. It will be so nice to not have to worry about that anymore.
Sounds like everyone has been pretty busy. Rosey, glad to hear that you are doing so well and don't beat yourself up over a little pizza. I'm going to try to behave myself during the next few weeks ---travel and all. I think I will try to not give in to a "TRUE" craving until I have had it three times. Hoping that will help a little to get me on track. Better get busy. everyone have a good day!! |
good Afternoon all,
It's cold and dreary here again today. I think it's supposed to get to a high of 48. Long way down from 80. Nothing much going on here today. Went shopping for awhile this morning, cleaned...the usual dull stuff that makes my life. Got a call from my friends husband this morning. she has been fighting breast CA for 3 years now and he told me that they told them yesterday that she is notgoing to make it. Had quite a bad day, but i think I'm cried out for awhile. She is going into hospice this weekend. She gave it a good fight. Karen, I know you are anxious to get everything done with the house and just get it OVER! Lynn, forget about vacatioing with you and watching the drunken volleyball, I want to PLAY. Rosey, I like to play games online too, and lots of crossword, and suduko...anything challenging. Don't know it it will help, but it can't hurt, right? and I would love to see your husbands page. All my family are hunters. My sister is the best shot I know. All the guys in the family are envious of her. Bobbi, I'm jealous too. 90? I want some of that! Z, Don't feel guilty for going off your diet and eating cake. Choose to eat it and enjoy every bite. Just savor it and eat one piece. You will have chocolate cake again...just not right now. Donna, Congratulations for holding on. Hard to do with the holidays just past. Handsome brothers. Everyone, make it a good day, Freda |
Hi Everyone,
About "bad eating days" - I'm having a "bad eating month!" About losing the last 10 pounds - I've been trying to lose my last 10 pounds for the past 3 years! Feeling overwhelmed with teaching the course and getting ready for Italy. I REALLY need to make one of my "to-do" lists. Happy Day Everyone, Lynn |
