Good Morning, All....
Zoe, my lovely PT, sometimes something's gotta GIVE... we can't be perfect ALL the time (at least, I can't). I had a bout of the cravings a couple of weeks ago that almost did me in... and I finally gave in. It was beyond awful!! But having one piece of cake (or, Rosey, even one CAKE) isn't going to kill you... and you'll be back on track in no time. Since those things don't happen every day, you'll be fine!

Lovely today... again, lots of stuff to do, and I'll be away from home most of the day. That exhausts me! I'll be ready to gork tonight.

Everyone, have a good weekend, warm and safe!

Thanks for the support, PT, and I do know that the occasional breach in my healthy eating campaign isn’t the end of the world, but I’m here to tell you that this week has been AWFUL :o. It just has been one long battle with my cravings for sweets and starches and gooey, yummy, oh-so-bad-for-you STUFF. I’ve not given in to EVERY craving, mind you, but I have given in to enough to call this week a complete wash-out. (Won’t be getting on the scale THIS weekend, no siree!!!) And of course the trouble is that when you give in, it becomes easier and easier to give in again and again. Man, I hate this battle, you know? I see skinny people and swear I want to just strangle them on the spot. :rollpin: Especially if they’re eating something that would jump right onto my belly and hang on for dear life. And of course with these skinny folks, it just seems NOT to stick, ever. Lynn, I HEAR you about that last ten pounds. I don’t have a huge amount left to lose, but it seems like the closer I get, the harder it is to get off, and the easier it is to get discouraged. :( I just get so tired, sometimes, of having to make the “healthy choices”. Blah. I want to eat a whole pizza loaded with toppings all by myself, or maybe a whole chocolate cake with cherry filling and chocolate frosting – Omigawd, to DIE for, I tell you. :moo: Well, I’m going to let myself ride this out through the weekend (not WHOLE pizzas or whole cakes, but eating reasonable amounts of whatever I want) and then climb back on the wagon Monday morning. I need a break. :tired:
Freda, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. That must be very hard for you.
Thank you for the tulip, Karen. It’s beautiful, and brightened my day (it’s dreary and drizzling here – apparently not the greatest weekend coming up, weather-wise).
Such great news about your DH’s book, Rosey! You must be very proud of him. :D
Bobbi, I think that it really is true about keeping your mind active, etc. In my case, I wish it could be less active – as in retiring – but I guess that will happen soon enough. Once it does, I think I’d like to be completely inactive for a couple of months, and then I’ll start looking for ways to exercise my mental processes. I hope taking a bit of a rest doesn’t do too much damage.
Isabella, that sounds like the car seats we got for the twins. Cost a small fortune, but look like they’re worth it safety-wise. They need TWO sets of two, naturally – one set for her SUV and one set for his car. Those little guys sure are cute, and it’s a good thing they are, too, because raising them is one expensive process.
Okay, I’m off to find something gooey to eat. (Just kidding. Sort of.)
Happy weekend,
:grouphug:
Z

We have our Easter/Birthday party yesterday, I didn't get on the scale this morning. We had salty ham and you all know what that does to you. I had 3 pieces of cake, couldn't stop. But I knew I'd get back on track today and one day of feasting does not hurt anyone.
I'm skipping church today, I had a really bad night. Restless Leg Syndrome again. I tried the pickle juice someone mentioned, doesn't work. I'm thinking a lot of stress is causing my RLS, we over-spent on remodeling the basement and our 1932 chevy car will be ready this summer, it's in the shop getting a new paint job. ($3,000 plus) Yikes.
Enough complaining, it's beautiful outside. You all have a great Sunday!

Hi Everyone,

Getting REALLY stressed about getting everything done by Thursday. Have papers to correct, my birthday to celebrate, electrical lights/fans to install - a LONG story, directions for our driving trip in Italy to figure out, and packing.

I will try to get back before I leave, but if not, I'll check in while I'm away.

Lynn

Happy Birthday Lynn. Hope everything falls into place by Thursday.

Rosey, what great news about your shopping trip. Yippee!!

Well, I'm home after a week of eating everything in sight and chasing Baby Boo all over the place. I could have cried this morning when we left. I wish we lived close enough to drop in every week. I'm not weighing in either, Bobbi until next week. Hahaha, from the posts above I've eaten from the devil's table all week (chips, ice cream and cheese cake) I have to buy fresh groceries tomorrow and plan on eating soooo clean this coming week.

I'm hoping to do a little gardening this week if the weather holds up. I did some tree pruning at DS's place and plan on doing the same at home. I have weeds enough to keep me busy for days as I didn't do much in the garden the last few years. Mom is gone now so there's no excuse left so I should have at least a half decent looking yard this year. I also have to find the seeds I bought a few weeks ago and see if any of them need to be started inside. Baby Boo and his daddy planted squash, tomatoes, cucumber, and pumpkin inside last week and their window sills are lined with little peat pots. I think they should see some sprouts by Tuesday at the latest.

It was cold most of the week so I'm hoping this week at home will be a little warmer. Rosey, I know all about snow in April. We may get some this week also but it won't stick or stay long.

Must go and unpack and then I'm watching the new Ben Hur movie, part 2 on tv. Here's to a good week.

Bobbolink 04-12-2010 09:01 AM

Good Morning Girls!
Rainy here today but that's o.k. better than the snow Rosey is getting. Our yard is greening up very nice and my tulips are ready to pop. Nice Pic Karen of your flower, I'll bet its fun to see what pops up at your new place in Missouri.
Isabella... I did get on the scale this morning and went from 127 to 130, but I'll take that off in a couple of days. No problem!

We had the basketball banquet last night for grandson #1, the plates were served to us heaping with chicken fettuccini, salad and garlic toast + brownie. That didn't help with the weigh in this morning. The scale actually teetered between 129.5 and the 130, then settled on 130.
Zoe...That's pretty much what I did after retiring, zoned out for a few months and did nothing. Then I found out that I really, really loved to cook from scratch and started making really good meals. I think my migraine headaches lessened too since I quite buying packaged foods with all those chemicals in them.

Jess....you have a beautiful singing voice, hope Lynn liked your rendition of Happy Birthday.
Lynn...Chill out Lynn or you won't enjoy your trip. I actually enjoy the list making and packing in anticipation to the actual trip. Guess I'm weird that way.
