Bobby
You have a beautiful yard. It looks huge!
And so many trees.

Your dog is a pretty dog.

we can not have that many trees. To many electrical wires over head.
thats why we just took down our large maple. It had be mutilated over the years by the electric company. trimming it.
Made it unhealthy.
So it came down 2 months ago.

Eeek! I've been so busy these past few days that I don't know what I posted when. Last night went to a school steering committee meeting that ran on until 9:30 (started at 6) and when I got home, I ate some leftover wheat pasta & sauce that I made on Tuesday night.
But...here's todays, for what it's worth:

Breakfast

Dry Fiber One cereal (had to be at work early for a meeting; no time for milk & all the fixin's), one banana, one orange

Lunch

Tuna mixed with low-fat Miracle Whip, one multi-grain tortilla wrap (70 cal)
Water

Supper

Roast pork
1/2 baked sweet potato
edamame

Snack (maybe)

Popcorn

EXERCISE - 30 minutes on da bike (big surprise)

FUN

Not having to go to any meetings; chatting w/DH; reading for a while; getting to bed early (been yawning all day)

No problem Bobby.

I like working on computers.
I might think about going to school to do it for a living. But around here that kind of job would mean driving into cleveland. 1hr... high traffic areas. Nope!
I still might take some classes just for me.

p.s.
My son has taught me tons of stuff in the last 10 yrs. Thats when he built the first computer this family ever had. Wish I still had a pic of it. His case was made of Plywood. Painted with speckle paint to look like rocks. (He was going to make his room look like a castle.)
anyway... he and I became very addicted to learning how to use the computer. I am still just a novice.

ellabella 05-11-2007 10:14 AM

Theresa, if you're a NOVICE on the computer, I don't know what that makes me - except a slow learner, maybe. :dizzy: Looks to me like you sure know what you're doing. And your son BUILT one? What's this, a family of geniuses - or fledgling Bill Gates's or sumpin'???

ANYWAY, here's me plan for today, mateys:

FOOD

Breakfast:

About a cup and a half of DRY Fiber One cereal. (I know you eat it dry all the time, Bobbi; I thought I needed milk, but once I had it without, I like it even better dry! Thanks for the tip! :D ) AND, a cup of sliced fresh strawberries AND an orange. (I also had taken a banana out to put in my lunch bag, but forgot to take it).

Lunch:

Thinly sliced deli ham (60 cal. to six slices) on a multi-grain tortilla wrap (60 cal.) w/ a handful of lettuce & a thin swipe of low-fat Miracle Whip. MAYBE some popcorn.

Supper:

Chil made from last night's leftover roast pork...made with Healthy choice tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chopped green peppers and onions, sliced black olives, red kidney beans, and served over brown rice. (Yum).

Snack: Maybe popcorn, maybe not. Depends on how late we eat supper.

EXERCISE:

30-minute bike ride. (Shocking & surprising, I know... )

FUN:

Hmmmmm. Getting home from work & not having to go in again until Monday morning? Finishing up the painting in my bathroom so the tile guy can lay the new tiles tomorrow morning? Taking my bike ride? Pulling DH's beard? :D )

I'M GOING TO TAKE SOME PICTURES THIS WEEKEND!!!!! THEN, I'M GOING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST THEM ONLINE!!

Have a great and wonderfully lovely day, all you Golden Girlies!!!!!

TTFN,

Ella :coffee:

I'm Back!

Bobbie, I just read the recipe you posted! Thank you...sounds great and I will try it tomorrow! I love to cook and am always trying new things. One I haven't tried...9X13 pan sprayed with cooking spray. (Pam) Distribute
1 box dry cake mix in baking dish
1 pkg. frozen fruit, cherries, peaches, whatever, that are mixed with splenda (1 cup)
Put fruit over cake mix and pour 16 oz of diet Sprite over it.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, uncover and bake for 20 minutes.
I ate some made with chocolate cake mix and bing cherries. It was good!
I haven't figured the calorie count yet.
My friend who made it uses peaches and adds cinnamon to the Splenda to toss the peaches in.

You all have such beautiful homes and gardens. I love to garden. My tulips were so nice this year, but they are gone now. My bluebonnets and Indain Paintbrush were also nice, but they are about gone. I have roses blooming. We have had so much rain that everything is doing good, I dread for the summer to come and bake everything. My tomato plants are blooming, my neightbor has some tomatoes on his. My squash is blooming (zuchinni and yellow). That is all I have planted this year, We are gone so much of the time in the summer that things get neglected here at home. I put out a couple of things at the lake. But I have to put out things that deer don't like or they eat it! Last year I had ornamental sweet potatoes covering a hugh space at the end of the cabin and one week end we drove up to a bunch of stubble! The deer needed salad!

I am sorry that I have not been around much lately. We have been going to the lake and back about every 4 days. And I just have not been on the computer. I have been writing down what I eat and have lost 4 pounds in the past 2 1/2 weeks. I finally got off some meds. that were keeping me from losing.
I have been getting plenty of exercise, walking and working at the lake. And walking and treadmill here at home, plus yard work.

I have found some tortillas that are good...LaTortilla Factory brand. They come in whole wheat low-carb/low fat. 8 grams dietary fiber, 50 calorie, 2 grams fat. They also come in garlic & herb flavor. I put then on an iron flat pan to warm, add baked chicken, onions, tomatoes, lettuce for a wrap and they are wonderful. You can use any kind of meat. I had leftover steak tonight so I made wraps for DH and I. He loves them too!
I have sprayed them with butter flavored Pam and put them in the oven to bake, they get crisp. If you can't find them and are interested they have a web site...www.latortillafactory.com.

I need to get to bed...early, busy day tomorrow. Getting ready to head for the lake after we vote for local elections. School board and city council.
Will check back in when we get back.
Happy Mother's Day to you all!

Wanda (Mickey)
